Chapter 14

Grey

When I woke up the next morning, I smiled.

First time in my entire fucking life that I have smiled first thing in the morning.

And that is all thanks to the woman at my side.

The way her body fit mine so snuggly.

The way her pale blonde hair fanned out on the pillows and over my arm.

I pressed a kiss on the top of her head, and then she stirred.

She hummed, “Morning Grey.”

Her voice was ragged and rough, and I fucking adored it.

“Morning, baby girl. Sore?” I asked.

I knew she was biting her lip as she nodded.

I chuckled, “K. I’ll eat you to help.”

And then I moved.

She giggled.

After we cleaned up, I pressed a kiss on the top of her head and said, “Gotta shave, baby.”

She winked, “K. I’ll be in the kitchen.”

I watched that ass in my boxers and an oversized sweater on her frame as she walked out of the bathroom.

But not before I caught her stopping at one of the bouquets, leaning down, inhaling the flowers, and touching the petals with a soft smile on her face.

And no, I didn’t miss it when she brushed a tear away from her cheek.

It took me about ten minutes to shave.

Then I left the bathroom.

At the sight of her standing in the kitchen in front of the stove cooking for us, I had to lean against the archway at the mouth of the hall to stop myself from stalking to her, twisting her, bending her over the island, and making love to her.

Soon.

“What are you making me, baby?” I asked.

She looked over her shoulder at me and smiled, “Belgian Waffles.”

I winked, “Sounds good, baby.”

After she made us breakfast, I asked, “Plans?”

She shook her head, “Clear schedule. You?”

I winked. “Got something at the club later, but I’m free for a while.”

She nodded, then she plated the food.

Damn, but she could cook.

I frowned as I ate my last bite and wanted more.

She giggled, then forked another helping of the waffles onto my plate.

I grabbed her hand and kissed her knuckles, then I got back to eating.

And yes... we argued over who was going to do the dishes.

Nine times out of ten she was going to win, but not this time. “Remember what I said, baby?”

She growled.

I winked.

I was in the middle of doing the dishes when my phone rang from somewhere in the house.

Kimber went to find it and then returned with it in her hand, as she said, “It’s someone named Jury.”

I lifted my chin, “He’s a brother, put it on speaker, yeah?”

Then she teased, “If I were doing the dishes, I wouldn’t have to put it on speaker.”

I scoffed, “Smartass.”

Then, before Jury could speak, I called out, “Yo, you're on speaker.”

“Hey, man, cool, and no worries. Just wanted to let you know that we have an issue with Bliss. Got a few to take a look at the paperwork?” I sighed.

“I can try, man. Last time I tried to get it all under control.” I told him.

And then Kimber spoke and shocked the hell out of me.

“Can I come with you?” she asked.

I lifted a brow, “You want to come with me to a strip club?”

She shrugged, “Never been to one. I’d like to see what they are all about.”

I nodded, “Okay, just know that I only do the books. I don’t partake.”

Her eyes went soft, then she smiled, “Noted.”

Then she shared even more about herself, and I felt pride infuse my entire being for her, damn, but she was smart as hell.

Fuck me.

See?

Everything about this woman did it for me.

Kimber

“Well, honestly, yes, I’ve never been to a strip club, and well... I offered to go with you so I could maybe help. I just didn’t want to offend you by offering to help. I didn’t want you to feel like I didn’t think you didn’t know what you were doing.”

He lifted a brow, “You like paperwork?”

“I have a CPA. I like numbers.”

A slow smile spread across his face. “How many layers of you are there?”

I shrugged, “No clue.”

He winked. “Good. Look forward to discovering all the layers.” Then he swallowed, “Baby girl, take this to heart, yeah?”

I nodded.

“Don’t ever lie to me to hide what you really think. I like what you did by owning up to your truth. But always tell me the truth going forward. Don’t give a fuck if you think it will hurt me or not.”

“You’ll tell me the truth?” I asked.

He nodded, “Always. And if it’s something with the club, I’ll tell you what I can. Okay?”

I got it; therefore, I nodded.

After we mounted the bike, he took me to my house so I could change clothes.

I had wanted to wear a skirt today, and Grey hadn’t cared, just told me that we weren’t going far and to wear whatever the hell I wanted.

Once I was dressed, he tossed one of my overnight bags over his shoulder.

“What’s that?” I asked.

He winked. “A few things for our house that are yours.”

I lifted a brow, he kissed said brow, took my hand, and led me to his bike.

***

I climbed off the bike and took off my own helmet, yes, my own helmet, it was black with orange accents, and it was cute.

I handed it to him and used my fingers to comb through my hair.

Once I was done, he took my hand and led me into the strip club.

Music blared the moment he opened the door for me, after he jerked up his chin at the man who was on the door, and told him that I was allowed in and given protection.

I warmed all over.

The strip club, Bliss, was done tastefully.

Soft tones of gold, black, and silver.

The couches appeared to be black velvet with tables in front of them with gold appliques.

A few poles were scattered throughout the room, but it didn’t look overwhelming.

A stage ran along the back wall and then curved out in both directions.

But the neat thing was that the bar seemed to curve with the stage and was elevated, so you didn’t have to see a bartender make your drink while you watched the stage.

Two other bars were stationed just the same as well.

I frowned.

Weren’t strip clubs supposed to be, you know... dingy?

Seeing the look on my face, he grinned, “Tempie designed it.”

“Tempie?” I asked with a lifted brow.

“Merlin’s wife. I gotta introduce you to all the brothers and the women later.”

I nodded.

Moments later, after he led me through the club, and no, not once did he look at the dancers who were topless and dancing or twisting on the poles or on the stage.

I smiled... and then... when he sat down behind the desk and picked up a pair of black glasses and put them on. Oh. My. Stars.

He looked up at me and smirked, “Glasses do it for you, huh?”

“Never have before... but on you.” I teased.

He growled.

Then he reached under the desk and did something, and I felt my cheeks get pink.

His eyes roamed over my face, and then he winked, “Payback.”

Then he looked down at the papers in front of him and growled again, “I can’t fucking make heads or tails of this.”

I lifted my brows, “Why is that?”

He looked up from the papers he was looking at and shared, “Because we just started this shit, and I know nothing about business and numbers. Not really. I mean... fuck... I know enough to get by, but the rest? No fucking clue.”

I grinned, “Then shove over, honey.”

His lips quirked at the endearment I used, and I knew he liked it when he said, “That’s mine from now on.”

I smiled, “Okay, honey.”

Two hours later, I had gathered and understood everything and put it all into the computer, then I looked at Grey, who had been watching it all, and smiled, “Done.”

He wrapped his hand around the back of my neck and kissed me ever so softly.

I moaned in his mouth.

He pulled his lips away and winked.

Then he took in what was on the computer, and asked, “Got a job offer to make you, if you want it?”

“Grey, I didn’t do this to get a job or anything out of you.”

“I know that, baby. We have five businesses, and we’re planning on getting more.

I don’t have a man here to do the books.

I did, but he met someone, and he chose her over the club, happy as fuck for them.

But… those accounts have fallen to me, and I don’t have the time to do any of them justice.

Hell, I couldn’t tell you if we’re in the black or the fucking red right now, and that’s not a fucking good thing. ”

I looked into his eyes, then I asked, “Do you have to talk to the club about it?”

He nodded, “Yeah, but I’m also the VP. I got sway. Consider it done.”

Then he got this look on his face, and my thighs quivered.

I knew that look.

I’d memorized that look.

“Now, I have this rule.” He said as he took his kutte off.

How fucking weird was I that the man’s deep and raspy voice, you know the kind, the kind that can make panties drop, didn’t affect me in the slightest?

“And what rule is that?” I asked him as I stared into the coolest pair of green eyes I had ever seen.

Man, some lucky woman is going to get to see those eyes in her babies and will always know beauty in the purest form, oh wait... that’s me.

Parts of my heart that he has yet to touch started to mend.

“I never mix business with pleasure... but for you, I’m thinking I’m about to break that rule.” He teased.

I lifted a brow, “And why is that?”

He smirked, “Because you in that skirt... my cock wants you. Badly.”

I grinned, then I looked around him, and at the unlocked door, then I teased, “Then I guess you’d better go lock that door.”

His brows lifted, then he licked his bottom lip, his eyes never leaving mine, as he walked backward, then he reached behind him, and flipped the lock.

Then he slowly started to walk back toward me while taking off his tee, and then he unbuttoned his jeans.

His hands went to the backs of my thighs, as my skirt bunched up around my hips.

And then, with my ass on the desk, he slid inside of me.

I stretched as he filled me.

Moaning at the feel of him, and then... I did what I’ve been dying to do.

I leaned my head forward and licked the trail of that particular vein in his throat.

He shivered.

I grinned.

He hit that spot inside of me, and my head fell back.

“Eyes,” he growled.

My eyes never left his as he rocked my world... and I giggled every time he slammed into me because the desk screeched across the floor.
