Epilogue

Ginny

Six Months Later

There are boxes everywhere, but every morning I wake up excited to get this house in order.

We’ve bought a house in town. Not the biggest house.

Not some fancy mansion. Neither of us want that.

We don’t want to be that far apart in our own home.

It’s a beautiful little house with extra rooms for kids in the future, a big back yard, room for entertaining and a front porch with a swing, where we can sit in the evening and watch the sunset.

And I have fallen in love with the town of Starfall Valley.

The main street has little specialty shops, a book store, the bakery, cafes and an ice-cream parlor.

The local hotel has live music on the weekends.

And I have gotten myself a job with the town council working with the schools and city planners and event co-ordinators to plan services and events to bring everyone closer together.

Magnus has friends and family in town. He has joined the volunteer fire and rescue, he does odd jobs around the town and he has plans for things he wants to do to the new house, like adding on a conservatory, building a little green house for my plants and putting in raised vegetable beds.

We go out for dinner, there are always friends having barbecues, and we get involved in town events. It was at one of these events that we heard news that Magnus’ ex-wife was getting married. To her third husband.

“How do you feel about that?” I asked him.

He just shrugged. “That part of my life seems so small now. If I had stayed on my own, it would probably affect me more. But our life, our love, is so much bigger than that. I hope she finds what she is looking for, but I barely think of her anymore these days.”

I sometimes wonder about her, the woman who betrayed Magnus.

Annie filled me in on all the details. But she doesn’t live in town anymore and I have so many other things to think about.

Like how to fit all of our books into the room we have designated as our library and reading room in the new house.

That’s where I am when Magnus walks in with a smile. The kind of smile that makes my heart race and I get hot all over.

“Need help in here?” He asks.

“Help, yes. Distraction….maybe.” I grin at him.

He walks towards me, the look in his eyes telling me he is more inclined toward distraction. Pulling me up against his body he claims my mouth in a kiss. His big hands roaming over my body.

“I was putting things away in the kitchen.” He kisses down the side of my throat. “And I was just thinking about how fucking sexy you are.” More kisses. “And that I should come in here and tell you how fucking sexy you are.”

Everything about him set me on fire. I love the smell of him. The feel of his body against mine. I love his kisses. His hands on my body, stroking, squeezing, holding me to him. My arms go around his neck. Doing some kissing and nuzzling of my own.

He starts to remove my clothing. Like he is unwrapping a present.

Turning me in his hands. Whispering in my ear.

Once he has me naked, he turns me to face the bookshelf.

Reminiscent of that first time in the shower.

My arms stretched out in front of me. His touch all over my body.

Holding me, his chest against my back as he grips at my breasts.

“You know, we have neighbours now. You can’t be as loud as up at the cabin.”

I grin. He can be just as loud as I am. But in this position he does like to let his hands explore every part of my body. Even now he is moving my legs further apart, reaching his hand between my legs.

I push back against him. Knowing he is going to make this a game.

If he can make me scream out my pleasure loud enough for the neighbours to hear.

The man does like to touch and tease. But I have my own moves to have him crying out my name.

I let out a low moan as his finger strokes against my pussy.

I’m hot and ready for him. I want his big thick cock inside of me.

But he is determined to play. As he whispers in my ear. “Let’s see how happy I can make you.”

I laugh, even as my heart pounds and I ache for him. I know he can make me happy. My grumpy mountain man has made me the happiest girl in the world.
