Chapter 7 The Physician’s Diagnosis
I summoned the Imperial Physician in. Accompanied by the aroma of the midnight snack, the Imperial Physician's brows furrowed tighter and tighter.
I was so scared I did not dare breathe. Jia Min, on the other hand, was truly hungry and focused on eating the freshly steamed tofu skin buns.
"Reporting to the lord, the lady's body..."
The Imperial Physician spoke softly. Jia Min's mouth paused slightly while eating the bun.
I tightly clutched her sleeve, my heart in my throat.
"The lady's body is healthy, just a bit lacking in qi and blood. She should supplement it more on usual days."
Phew—I let out a heavy sigh of relief.
"Ruhai, why are you so afraid? Did you hear some rumors before I married over?"
Jia Min finished her meal, her face turning red.
"No, I was just a little worried earlier."
"Worried about what?"
"Worried that you would not live a long life."
I gripped her hand tightly.
The maids and servants quickly pulled the Imperial Physician out. Inside the red canopy, I held Jia Min.
A spring night moment is worth a thousand gold. Tonight finally eased the longing of these past days.
The next morning, Jia Min was still asleep.
I instructed the servants not to wake her. "She can sleep until whatever time she wants. If she asks, just say I went to court."
The maids nodded obediently.
I could tell from her eyes that this was not proper. It was naturally not good for a new bride to wake up too late.
"But what about Jia Mu's side?"
She hesitated with her words.
My mother was an excellent woman, but due to the constraints of feudal etiquette, she still had some limitations.
"I will naturally explain to Jia Mu."
