Epilogue
Daiyu never married. The Emperor had intended to make her the Crown Princess.
Yet he had not expected this child to have even more courage than I had back then. She said she did not like the position of Crown Princess.
The Emperor smiled and asked what she liked. At just eighteen, Daiyu held her brush and declared firmly.
"I like writing poetry. I like traveling to famous mountains and rivers."
The Emperor felt some regret. He could only tie down a vulgar person like me with an official career, but he could not tie down a fairy-like Daiyu.
Later, Daiyu traveled the country with her brush. It was heard that she established a women's poetry society wherever she went.
Everyone regarded her as an idol. Once her poetry collections were released, they sold out at once, with people competing to buy them.
She lived this life freely and unrestrained, without any of the gloom or caution from the book.
One time she finally wanted to visit the Jia Household. I knew that even if she went there and met Baoyu now, she would not feel troubled anymore. So I took her.
Baoyu saw her and said such a fairy-like sister seemed familiar.
Tanchun smiled and said, "The Commandery Princess Of Rongyang is famous. There are portraits in the poetry collections. Of course you have seen her."
Baoyu smiled and nodded. "That is true. But does Sister have a jade?"
Daiyu shook her head and said she did not.
Baoyu went into a frenzy and smashed the jade.
Seeing this, Daiyu did not look as panicked as in the book. She simply took Tanchun's hand and asked in confusion.
"Does he have a problem?"
