8. Tannen

Chapter Eight

TANNEN

I spend the whole week with Hollee after we both finish work.

Every day before I set off for work I send her a “Hi Gorgeous!” text and keep texting her throughout the day.

It’s fun to beep the horn when I come back from work and her beautiful face is smiling from the window.

In the evenings we catch up on those cheesy festive movies I’ve avoided for the last few years.

Yesterday she asked for the key to my house as she had a surprise in mind. As I head home after the busiest day we’ve had so far, I’m (not so secretly) hoping that the surprise involves her being naked wearing just a red bow.

Pulling into my driveway there’s an unfamiliar glow coming from my living room window.

There aren’t any lights on at her house so she must be out doing her shopping?

I open the front door and there’s a cute little tree, beautifully decorated and lit up.

I suddenly recall being deep inside her by her tree and I’m rock hard, my cock chafing at my jeans. I head into the kitchen to grab a beer.

The door of the safe is wide open.

What. The. Fuck.

All the money inside has gone. Even the yellow bag which I use to store the cash has disappeared. My heart sinks - Hollee had the key.

Fucking Christmas.

Anger rises inside me as I contemplate throwing the tree out the window. Need to get myself together. I grab my phone and call Rick.

“Rick - I’ve come home and all the money from the safe is gone. Can you meet me outside Peppermint?”

“Oh, no dude. Yes of course. I’ll notify the station. Are the bills marked?”

“Yes, and they’re in the yellow bag we normally use. That’s gone too.” I can’t believe it.

“Ok, see you in 20.”

Lights sweep past the window and Hollee’s car pulls into her driveway.

That good-looking blond guy is in the front seat - she’s smiling and talking to him.

It takes all I have not to run out, wrestle the door open and slam him into the ground.

She sure as hell doesn’t look guilty. As she walks up the drive I stare at her through the window and she winks and waves at me.

I give her a cold stare back and her face crumples.

What am I doing? I’m enraged about the pretty boy sitting in her car. She belongs to me - not some blond guy who won’t know how special she is. I hate myself for doubting her even for a second but I have to get this mess cleared up.

Now.
