Ch25 Hiten
(Kagome POV)
I woke with a groan, my vision blurry as I tried to compose myself.
It took about a minute when I fully recovered and I wished that I hadn't.
For I saw that I was in a kitchen of some kind with a giant knife and the familiar form of Manten stirring a gigantic pot full of boiling purple liquid.
"So you are awake now." Manten said, turning to face me.
I winced at the injuries he had, but on the inside proud of my handy work.
His arms and the hand I stabbed wrapped in bandages, an arrow still embedded into his snout, his teeth blackened and covered in soot, small burns on his head, and finally a massive burn around his right eye which was bloodshot.
While some of them weren't of my doing, it did fill me with a pride to be able to injury a powerful yokai such as him.
"That's right, and I take it you are going to try and eat me." I said evenly, looking for something to use against the raijū in case he tried anything.
"Not at all. In fact I will chop you up and use your parts for a hair growth potion were I will apply to my head and grow luxurious locks of hair. Not only killing you, but also avenging my hair!" He shouted out, tears spilling out his eyes at the last part.
Seriously, this was the same yokai that just tried to kill me not that long ago.
He was an idiot.
A deadly and threatening idiot non the less.
"Has it ever worked?!" I said, taking a jab at him.
"Sadly it hasn't, but it will work this time. I'm sure of it." Manten sighed out.
Once again, he's an idiot.
"Well if you are going to do that, then I would rather be eaten then put on your head!" I snapped at him, getting him to flinch and try to sush me.
"Keep it down or sister Hiten will try to eat you...maybe both figuratively and literally." Manten said, grumbling the last part at the end.
Wait wha-?
"Too late Manten!" A gruff voice called from behind the kitchens doors before they were blasted apart by lightning and kicking up a ton of dust.
I coughed as it filled my lungs and my vision. It cleared up soon after to reveal a red faced Manten.
"Sister, how many times do I have to say it. Put some more clothes on while we're home!" He whined at presumably his sister.
"And how many times do I have to tell you little brother, this our home. So I can ware whatever I please." The voice said, before the dust started to settle.
Oh dear Amaterasu...
The dust settle to reveal that this Hiten wasn't lizard looking like Manten, but in fact more human...and she was practically naked minus a loincloth and chest bindings!
Hiten was a tall woman with tanned skin and a slender muscular frame lined with various scars and long black hair braided up into a ponytail and her slitted red eyes focused on me.
At her side was another woman wearing only a long crimson skirt with...was that a snake covering her breasts?
Minus that one, I could only stare at Hiten with caution and a hint of something else...was that jealousy.
I mean compared to her she had smaller...well everything compared to me minus height. Yet she alludes an aura of power and allure that would possibly drive most people mad.
I think it was starting to drive me a little mad too...
Wait what?!
"Glad to see that your home little brother, though not in one piece." Hiten said with a wince upon seeing the state of her younger brother. The woman hanging off her looking on in slight disgust at Manten's form.
"Well you can blame her for most of these injuries!" Manten shouted, pointing at me.
Once again, getting Hiten to look at me and study me intently.
"Not bad, she must be quite strong for a human in order to have done all of that to you little brother." Hiten said before facing her brother.
"Or maybe he's just that weak." The woman off of her side said.
Manten froze and gained a fearful expression as he stared at his older sister freeze up.
I soon joined in as Hiten gained a sort of serene expression and the air began to heat up.
"You should not have said that." Hiten said calmly, before turning around and punching the woman's head!
Which instantly caved in on impact!
Hiten opened her fist and released a burst on electricity so powerful that I had to avert my eyes for fear I would have gone blind.
The flash lasted a few moments and I felt the electricity bristle around me before the flash died down and I could only look in horror as the charred remains of the woman collapsed onto the ground.
"Such a shame, she was a good fuck too." Hiten sighed out, before facing me. "Still no one gets to mock my family and get away with it. The only reason why you are still alive is because you interest me...that and I need to punish Manten a bit."
Hiten is officially the scariest yokai I've met, even more so the Sesshōmaru!
With her, I know that she will straight up kill me after what I did.
With Hiten, I can't get a clear reading of what she wants to do to me and seeming to be much stronger then Manten also helps.
"But sister Hiten-" "Oh don't whine Manten, I trusted you to get the jewel shards.
But you come back empty handed, defeated, injured, and with only this human girl to show for it.
Here I believed that you could handle it, but I was wrong.
I suppose you also got a bit arrogant after wiping out an entire human army and killing a full grown one tailed kitsune.
I hope that this teaches you a lesson Manten about underestimating your opponents and letting your past victories clouding your judgement.
" Hiten said, tearing her brother apart verbally.
Something which I took some smug satisfaction at watching him turn red in embarrassment.
"Still I suppose it should be partly my fault, I thought that by luring the hanyo away you should have no problems against two humans and a kitsune kit. Guess I was wrong." She sighed out.
"Well you lured the wrong hanyo then, this girl was the only human. Without him she wouldn't have injured me at all." Manten said.
"That is wrong and you know it!" I snapped at him, causing the raijū to flinch.
"She's fiesty, I like that." Hiten said before facing Manten. " And that sounds like an appropriate punishment. She gets a free shot at you and a chance to prove you wrong."
"But sister Hiten-" "It's this or mom's punishment.
Either do it my way and spare yourself some dignity or I do it the way mom used to do it and you lose all of it.
Besides if the girl doesn't do any damage to ya, I'll toss her lifeless corpse in front of her allies once they come here.
" Hiten said, trying to reach a compromise/threat/ultimatum towards myself and Manten.
The younger raijū nodding fearfully and myself just sitting there, ready to hit him as hard as I could.
If I was going to die here, then I was going to go down swinging!
"Give me your best-" Manten didn't get to finish as I decked him in his snout with all of the anger that I had been building up since I first met him.
Honestly my hand hurt after that.
Felt like punching a concrete wall.
But the pay off was worth it as Manten fell on his ass, clutch a bloody snout with the arrow inside possibly broken or splintered.
I shook my hand with a grin and backpedaled, only to nearly trip on something.
Seems like I also knocked a tooth out as well.
"Well I'd say that your punishment is over, but it isn't." Hiten said as she helped her brother up.
"I'm going to curb that arrogance out of you after we deal with the intruders that you lured to our home.
And I am going to continue to do so until it gets through that thick skull of yours, got it little brother. "
"Yes sister Hiten." He said fearfully.
"Good, now tell me what this hanyo was. This girl here can clearly hold her own, but of you are right then this hanyo must be strong. So I am curious, what kind of hanyo are we dealing with besides an inugami hanyo?" Hiten asked, the hint of a grin at her words.
"A yuki-onna hanyo!" Manten said fearfully, only getting his sister to drop him.
An oddly calm expression on her face.
"Can you run that by me again?" Hiten asked, an her voice even.
But by the way my hairs were starting to rise, something was definitely brew with her.
"A yuki-onna hanyo, an honest to Raijin yuki-onna hanyo!" Manten shouted, taking a few steps back from his sister.
Hiten just stood there for a few moments, before she let out a low chuckle and grinned.
A grin that looked like a cross between someone who had just won the lottery and a blood thirsty killer. A fact that wasn't helped by the way her fangs were now on display.
A grin that terrified me to my core.
"Manten do you know what you just found?" Hiten asked with...was that elation in her voice.
"No, I do not sister?" Manten said fearfully, possibly wondering what in the pits of Yomi what his sister was thinking of.
"You found the something even more valuable the the Shikon Jewel shards. Manten when they come to our home, leave that hanyo alive and stay away from the inugami hanyo she is mine and too powerful for you to handle." Hiten said, confusing Manten and getting me to look at the older raijū in horror.
This is going to be like Yura again isn't, only this time this yokai knows what she is doing!
"But-" "No buts little brother, I know you and Sōten can't really handle the cold so once again I'll handle the hanyos. Besides we catch him alive and your dream will come true." Hiten interjected, getting Manten's eyes to light up and squeal like a little girl.
A disturbing image considering his appearance and demeanor.
"I just need you to get me my clothes, armor, and the Raijinga then we can go." Hiten said.
"But shouldn't we kill the harlot first?" Manten asked while glaring at me.
"Not at all, they will be more subsepitable to reasoning if she is alive.
Besides I got I few things to say to her.
Now run along and gather my supplies so I can be battle ready.
The faster you do so, the quicker your dream will become a reality.
" Hiten said, before fixing me a glance and a small smile.
I however wanted nothing more then to get away from here.
"On it sister Hiten!" Manten bellowed before running out of the room and fixing me a dirty glare.
"I'm going to be an uncle! I'm going to be an uncle!" He bellowed out as he disappeared down the halls, getting Hiten to chuckle at her brother's antics.
That just confirmed my fears, she was planning on raping Y/N.
But what I wasn't expecting was her to be willing to impregnate herself!
And now I'm worried she might be planning on doing the same thing to me!
"If you are worried about me trying to rape you or getting pay back for what my little brother did you can forget it.
He brought his injuries upon himself and rape isn't really my thing, I'd prefer consensual myself.
The rape is only out of necessity." Hiten said.
"Also if you are wondering, no I will not kill you after killing everyone else but the yuki-onna hanyo. At least not until 2 days from now."
"Then why are planning on raping Y/N then or keeping me alive for so long then!" I snapped at her.
"Simple, it's for necessity. And as for you, well considering that I just killed my last bed partner I'd say that my mood has been killed for today.
" Hiten said, gesturing to the charred remains of the woman.
"Still though she did deserve it, not just for insulting Manten.
She has done some horrible things, and this is coming from someone who has wiped out villages and armies out of sheer boredom.
So I figure I'd make a pass on you tomorrow. "
"What!?" I'd exclaimed in shock, my face aflame.
More surprised that she was basically saying she wanted to have sex with me, then the fact she admitted quite plainly that she was a mass murderer!
"Normally I wouldn't offer it to humans, but you interest me girl.
Sure you are kind of plain looking, but you are a spitfire.
A woman with a strong soul and temper with a softer side.
My favorite favorite type of bedmate, I just love tearing down those walls and exposing that sweet, sweet center.
" Hiten said, her voice heavy with a seductive tone.
"Besides it's the least I can do as a thank you for everything you has done for me, so what do you say? "
"As you are planning to rape my best friend, all I have to say is no! Besides thank you for what, luring him here?!" I shouted, not exactly sure what I should be feeling.
Anger at her or embarrassment from her.
"Suit yourself, maybe I can change your mind by then.
Still I will let you go at him first, I can tell from your tone and body language that you obviously love him.
" Hiten said, prompting my face to go an atomic shade of red.
"Don't try to deny it, I can read your body language and it clearly shows despite how well you hide it.
Besides it's the least I could do to thank you for all you done. "
"And what exactly have I done besides inadvertently luring Y/N to you!" I snapped at her, my face somehow even redder at what Hiten was offering.
A chance with Y/N..,not the time nor the place for that kind of thoughts!
"Besides that, I must thank you for shattering the Shikon Jewel." Hiten said, shocking me.
She knew that it was me that did it.
I'm pretty sure word about who shattered it hadn't traveled that far yet with Kaede doing her best to make sure the village kept quite about it.
So unless word has leaked out, which I doubt there can only be one explanation.
"You were there when the jewel shattered weren't you?" I asked, getting the raijū t9 nod. "So what were you planning on doing, threatening the village in order give up the Shikon Jewel or simply destroy the village and claim it."
"Threaten it, maybe burn some houses down, get into a fight, and then claim the jewel.
" Hiten admitted, with a bloodthirsty grin at the word fight.
Which faded at what she said next. "Still wasn't expecting an oversized Shibugarasu to beat me to it, or for you to have shattered with one arrow.
A shard nailed me right in the head and I crashed down into forest hard.
" She finished with a wince, though sending me a subtle glance towards myself.
Though she is about a subtle as Yura around Y/N.
"Came too a while later and rushed home to tell Manten and we have been hunting down shards since. Still I mean thank you for making it so much fun." Hiten said, with a bloodthirsty grin.
"What do you mean by fun?" I asked. "You could have ended it all by taking the Shikon Jewel there, so how was I smashing it fun for you?"
"Simple, If I had gotten the jewel I would have only used it for power, bring back the rest of my father's clan back home, used the jewel with a status symbol, and finish wiping out the clans that killed my mother and father.
" Hiten said, spitting out the last part out.
"Sure I killed their killers in their sleep and hung around their entrails around their compound as a warning. So might as well finish the deed."
"Didn't need to know that." I muttered out, growing more and more fearful of the possible psychopath in front of me.
"I suppose so. Anyway I must thank you for ushering in an bout of chaos.
For centuries the age of where yokai were free to fight with each other and powerful humans have been on the decline and while there are still many instances each year, they are nothing like the good old day.
" Hiten sighed out. "The closest was nearly 50 years ago, but the jewel was thought lost and things had died down soon after.
Until you shattered the Shikon Jewel and if I heard correctly helped disarmed Sesshōmaru.
Thanks to that, for the first time since the death of Tōga it has become clear that anyone now has a shot to truly claim a spot to the strongest yokai in all of Honshū.
Along with the yokai and humans fighting for the shards it is nothing short of glorious!
Yokai and Daiyokai that have been sealed or in hiding are making an appearance, yokai are acting more brazen and more open with their plans, and all in all more chaos.
Which means more chances to fight to my hearts content then in these past few centuries so for that I have to say, thank you. "
After that long speech from this battle maniac basically thanking me for unleashing a major instability into an already volatile era of warfare, I realized that in a way she was right.
From the way she was speaking, most of these actions would have probably gone on without our interference.
Yet by shattering the Shikon Jewel and us beating back Sesshōmaru, we have practically anyone craving power, to be the strongest, or a wish to be granted coming out of the woodwork causing havoc over the shards.
I knew about the former, but the later not so much.
I know that the flat chested bitch was important, but the fact that she was basically the lynchpin keeping the more powerful of yokai back. That wasn't something I was expecting.
Can't really do anything about the later unless we cross paths with one, but we were gathering the jewel shards which hopefully will cull most of the troubles that have been springing up.
"I can see why you would be thanking me, but honestly I accidentally shattered it and now I'm working with my friends...and Yura to restore the jewel in order to take responsibility for my action and make sure it doesn't harm my family." I said, to her and myself.
At first I thought about getting the shards in order to protect my family. But after the mess with the overgrown toad, Y/N slowly losing his humanity, and now these raijū I suppose I should take responsibility for shattering the jewel.
So once we finally collect all the shards and use a wish for Y/N, I will personally see to the jewel's destruction. Putting the end to the madness it has called.
"So you are mainly doing this for your family, I can respect that." Hiten said with a nod. "Same with gathering the jewel shards, and quite a bit more."
"There are three things I truly care about in live. My family and clan, fighting, the basic pleasures of life." She said with her bloodthirsty grin. "Family is self explanatory, the other two are a bit more complicated."
"I have sampled some of the finest saki in Honshū, gorged myself on the rarest game in all of Nippon, and have bedded some of the finest men and women in all of Honshū.
But the one thing I love the most besides my family, it is fighting!
" Hiten said, electricity bristling off her.
"Fighting after eating or drinking, fighting after sex, fighting during sex, fighting for fun, fighting for my family, or fighting for the sake of fighting!
Nothing gets my blood pumping like a good battle!
The thrill of fighting is something that all of those pleasures take second place!
Winning or losing, living or dying, nothing compares to it!
And once again I have to thank you girl.
With yourself, the yuki-onna hanyo, Tōga's hanyo daughter, and a kitsune kit.
I have to say that it has been far too long since I've had a good fight, and this looks like quite the promising one. So once again thank you!"
I could only stare at the raijū in shock.
I figured that she would be a battle maniac from what I picked up earlier, but I never expected to such a degree or the levels of hedonism the she has displayed. Complied that with he intelligence and she is much more dangerous then Manten possibly could be.
Without knowing her full power, I can safely say that even without it she is possibly more dangerous then Sesshōmaru and for one reason alone.
She has lost before.
That flat chested bitch probably never lost to anyone other then her father, so she probably never accounted for the possibility that she would actually lose.
But Hiten, she has experienced defeat and possibly been close to death before if her words are anything. With the scars covering her as proof of that. Meaning that if she will consider the possibility of defeat and could possible counter it when necessary.
The one thing I can count as an advantage over her was that she believed Yura to be dead. Even I wasn't sure that she could still fight after taking that lightning bolt. But if she did then we had an edge against her.
As much as I hated to admit it.
"You know, I have so much to thank you for.
Breaking the jewel, unleashing so much chaos, brining the yuki-onna hanyo, a chance to produce a child that can truly control the storms, and this upcoming battle.
But I never once got your name. So what is the name for an amazing girl like yourself?
" Hiten said, getting me to flush at her praise.
Damn it.
"It's Kagome and what do you mean by a child capable of control the storms, I thought that raijū could already do so." I asked with a bit of horrified curiosity.
"Not really, we can control storm clouds, thunder, and lightning but all other aspects belong to the god Raijin and the raijū he selects for his pact.
The highest honor among our kind. But a yuki-onna controls snow, ice, the winter winds, and possibly rain.
So a child born from the two could very well control the storms themselves.
Many a raijū have tried and failed to catch a yuki-onna or a yuki-onna hanyo for that one purpose and all have perished.
But if I can succeed then I can rebuild my father's clan to new heights and be recognized as the most prestigious raijū clan of them all.
" Hiten said with a small smile. "Besides I changed my mind about the 2 days Kagome, I think I'lol keep you around and you can have the hanyo, Y/N was it whenever I am not using him.
Sure I will have to steer Manten away and possible break Y/N.
But I consider it a risk as a thank you for all that you have done for me Kagome. So, what do you say?"
I was at a loss for words, unable to tell what I think about Hiten.
She keeps hitting on me, admits to mass murder and planning on raping Y/N, hitting on me, planning on killing Inuko and Shippō, hitting on me, offering to keep me alive and to share Y/N out of gratitude, and once again hitting on me!!!
It was just to much!
"Sister Hiten, I have everything!" I heard Manten bellowing down the hall, getting Hiten to sigh.
"And I was just enjoying this too." She grumbled out.
"Be there in a few moments Manten." Hiten said as she got up.
"Don't think about getting out the window, it's just a straight drop onto a narrow cliff edge.
Which would be a shame if you were to have died from that.
Anyway I hope that you give my offer some thought Kagome. I would be disheartened if you didn't."
With that, Hiten left to leave me with my thoughts. Which was a mistake as I didn't know what to think about Hiten.
Except for one thing.
Y/N we needed to win against her and Manten, or else we could seriously kiss everything that we care about and I mean everything goodbye.
(Chapter 25 end)
Hey guys Mukuro7 here and I hoped that you all enjoyed this chapter.
Anyway I'll keep this short and say that I actually enjoyed writing Hiten, and I hoped I made her threatening enough.
Also this is the last chapter for a while as I have other works to focus on my other works including the two stories I promised.
So until next time, ciao!
