Ch35 To Yomi and Back

(Y/N POV - Sengoku Jidai)

"So this yokai is called the Tatarimokke?" Kagome asked, getting both me and Myōga to nod.

Currently we were outside of well. Me and Kagome sitting on the edge of the well. With the old flea resting on her finger and Shippō sitting on my lap drawing in a notebook and crayons I brought for him. Inuko was sitting on a downed log not that far from us.

Yura was off towards her nest, adding some more than she had gotten through methods I would rather not know.

"So you have it in your time too." Myōga said.

"We do, though it rarely has appeared in our era in the last 50 years, the last time it was spotted at all was a few years ago when a massive tsunami hit part of the Mutsu Province." I said with a shudder and Kagome repeating my actions.

They were still cleaning up that mess given that it is the costliest natural disaster in history.

"I see, I am sorry to hear that. Seems like no matter what the era Nippon will always seem to suffer from them.

" Myōga said with a shake of his head. "Tatarimokke is a yokai whose purpose is supposed to console the souls of dead children who remain here in Ashihara and have not past on into Yomi.

It plays it's flute until the souls find peace. "

"And if the soul does not find peace?" Kagome asked.

"If they harbor a grudge against the living or are generally malicious it would could eventually turn from a spirit into a evil spirit or a yokai of some sort.

From what my father has gathered the Tatarimokke has existed as a stopgap measure for the yurei of children.

Upon the spirit reaching the moment it could turn into an evil one, it throws them into the deepest pits of Yomi. " I said grimly.

"When it's eyes are fully open, it's too late." Shippō said, briefly looking up from the notebook before going back to drawing.

"I won't allow it! She's just a kid, she doesn't deserve to be dragged off to Yomi like that!" Kagome shouted out, getting me to nod.

"I agree, as I said this yokai is a stopgap measure. There is telling how many kids have been unjustly banished to the deepest pits of Yomi. So count me in on saving Mayu." I said honestly.

Only the worst of the worst deserves such a fate, not a little girl lashing out at her brother for her death.

"What about you Inuko?" Kagome asked.

"Count me out, yurei are different to deal with then yokai. Can't cut them up and are trickier to deal with on some occasions. One misstep and you can find yourself dealing with something terrible. Just try to not to get yourselves killed." Inuko said, getting Kagome to sigh.

"We won't, I dealt with the Nikuzuki no Men so this shouldn't be too difficult to handle...okay maybe it is. But I am not going to give up on Mayu." Kagome said as she stood up." Y/N I am going to get a head start on some homework before heading back to the hospital."

"Don't worry I will catch up to you in a few. Or when Yura gets back." I said, getting Shippō to whine.

"But Y/N, Kagome I thought you promised that you were going to stay here for the rest of the afternoon since you have to return school tomorrow!" The kit complained.

"Now Shippō it is for a few days before we come back to look for the jewel shards and this just came up. So Shippō can you please just wait until and then we all get to spend more time together, okay?" I said with a smile, getting the kitsune to huff for a moment before sighing.

"Fine, doesn't mean I have to like it." He grumbled out as he returned to his drawling.

"I know, but it will all be worth it." I said to him before facing Kagome who had a smile on her face. "Guess I have to be back a little later then I thought."

"Take your time, I will see you later Y/N. And see you tomorrow Shippō." Kagome said before jumping into the well.

"Bye Kagome." Shippō said half heartedly as he continued to draw.

"Are you sure about this Y/N, you are going up against a yurei and possibly a yokai that could probably drag you straight into Yomi.

You have only just regained the ability to walk, well mostly and Kagome just survived and defeated that tsukumogami.

This has nothing to do with you or her." Inuko said, getting Myōga to nod.

"Lady Inuko is right Y/N, the Tatarimokke is a yokai that has been around for thousands of year and will be around for thousands more.

There have also been accounts of others nearby being dragged into Yomi when it's eyes open.

Some return and some never to return. We all escaped being trapped in Yomi the first time, I don't know if you and Kagome could be able to escape a second time.

Are you willing to risk everything bfore one spirit? " He said with his arms crossed.

Honestly it was quite heavy to hear that, but I nodded in reply.

"We are, Mayu made it personal for not just Kagome when she tried to threaten Sōta.

Besides Kagome seems to have her mind set on this, so it would be difficult to return her from wishing to save Mayu now.

Besides you said there have been people who have come back from the Tatarimokke, so we have a chance at this.

" I said, getting both Myōga and Inuko to sigh.

"So there is no convincing either you or Kagome otherwise." Myōga said with a shake of his head.

"Not at all." I said.

"Then at least be careful, you nearly died almost a week ago and got lucky with the most recent jewel shard. I would prefer that both you and the girl will be alive come tomorrow." Inuko said with a huff, getting me to nod.

"Don't worry I will." I said, before I felt Shippō tug at my sleeve.

"I know you can do it Y/N, you and Kagome." Shippō said with a smile, getting one from me in turn.

It was nice to know how much faith he held in the two of us.

"What do you think of my drawing?" Shippō asked as he held out the notebook.

It held a picture that was of me, Kagome, and him riding...something like a dragon. Honestly it wasn't the best looking, but then again he was basically 7 and he has been improving.

"I like it, especially the dragon. You used some nice shading for it." I said honestly, only getting him to huff.

What did I say?

"It was supposed to be a kirin, I thought it would be fitting." Shippō said with a pout.

Ah, that would do it.

"You were close Shippō, you just made the body a little too long. Here I will show you." I said, flipping the page and spent sometime teaching Shippō on how to improve his drawling.

(At Night - Modern Era)

It had been a nice enough afternoon before coming back to the modern era, with both me and Kagome almost to Satoru's hospital.

She hoped to at least get there before their mother left to truly learn what had happened and before Mayu would try anything else to her brother.

Given that Kagome said that there mother stayed their for most of the day, that was most likely the most opportune times for Mayu to strike.

We were going at it alone, without Inuko there was only two other options, Grandpa and Yura.

Grandpa was still recovering from the Nikuzuki no Men, so we quickly counted him out. And even he admitted it had 15 years since he had delt with a human spirit.

Yura however was on board with us, until being told she couldn't bring Benigasumi inside the hospital without raising some serious questions from the metal detectors. She wasn't exactly willing to do so, especially with me go to deal with a yokai that could send us straight to Yomi.

Nor was she willing to sperate from us on this issue, so she did come with us and will be outside of hospital incase something goes wrong, but I had to promise her something.

I was broken from my thoughts when both me, Kagome, and everyone else on the street heard someone scream from a nearby alley.

With only myself noticing Yura carrying a bunch of hair in one hand and Benigasumi in the other.

"I take it that was Yura." Kagome said with a little bit of exasperation.

"Yes it was." I said as we continued to walk or in my case hobble towards the hospital.

"That was the third incident on the way here, how many more times is she going to do this?" Kagome asked

"I honestly have no idea, except she is going to have a lot of fun tonight." I sighed out.

I made her the offer of not complaining or telling her to limit the amount of hair she could take tonight as long as she followed her previous conditions.

How she even knew so much about the victims that she has chosen all throughout the city and how she did so in only a few days honestly makes me glade that Yura is on our side...well at least on my side.

A lot of people are going to suddenly find themselves bald tonight.

That or they were going to confess what they had done in hopes of avoiding such a fate, but Yura never really cared about that.

Anyway we soon made it to outside of the hospital without another incident of someone screaming, though I think someone called the cops on Yura.

Doubt anyone could catch her though, many have tried and failed over the past view days.

We made it just in time as Mrs. Ikeda was leaving the hospital.

From there both me and Kagome split ways.

Kagome was going to try to get some more information on Mayu from her mother inorder to get to the bottom of what happened in the fire.

As for myself I was to head towards Satoru's room ahead of Kagome and wait for her there, along with defending the boy against his older sister should she decided to attack and I hope me and Kagome were both wrong.

But given her recent amount of activity, it was a good chance Mayu would strike tonight.

Not sure how well my powers will react against a ghost even after regaining a majority of my control over them back. But given that neither me or Kagome didn't wish to hurt Mayu and she needed to work on her reiryoku.

So it was up to me to defend Satoru until Kagome comes back up.

I'm just hoping it doesn't come to that.

In a few minutes I was in the elevator up to the same floor as Satoru's room, surprising the urge to sigh as the person next to me exited the elevator while complimenting my dyed hair.

It was natural...or rather supernatural I suppose.

Than again how else are you going to explain that to someone when a third of their hair is white all around.

It was going to be a little awkward at school tomorrow if this was of any indication, wasn't it.

A moment later I was broken from my musings as the elevator door opened and the sound of glass breaking could be heard from down the hall.

Shit, Mayu was attacking her brother.

I hobbled down the hallway as fast as I could, hearing the sounds of things exploding and could only pray that Satoru would be alright by the time I got there.

Jist a few moments later I arrived to see a little girl standing in the broken remains of the window that could only be Mayu.

Scattered around the room was broken glass and shattered electronics, all caused by her.

With a wave of her hands Mayu caused one of the ceiling panels above her comatose brother to fall.

Not that I was going to allow that to happen.

Mist gathered in one of my hands and traveled down the crutch and onto the floor.

Forming a half arch of ice that curved and spread out above Satoru, just enough to catch the panel and for it to break away from the boy.

"What the?" Mayu shouted out as she finally noticed me. "Go away, he is mine!"

So she thinks I am here to kill her brother then.

"You got it wrong, I am here to stop you." I said, getting her to frown.

"Then go away!" Mayu shouted, some of the nearby objects being floated into the air and tossed at me.

All blocked by a thin barrier of ice, while I was also focusing on dispelling the ice over Satoru and replenishing the ice infront of me.

After only a few moments she started to blast through my ice barrier with raw telekinetic force. It was a struggle to keep up as my right forearm and around my left eye was starting to frost over.

"Why don't you just leave already!" Mayu shouted out as another blast hammered into my shield before shattering it into pieces.

I was pushed back by the force and almost toppled over, until someone caught me and helped me back up.

"Thanks Kagome." I sighed out, getting her to nod as she and Mrs. Ikeda entered the destroyed hospital.

"Mayu? Why?!" Her mother asked, seemingly in shock to see her daughter among the living once again.

"Quiet!" Mayu yelled out, a blast of telekinetic energy slammed into Mrs. Ikeda. Causing her to thrown into the hallway and slammed into a wall and knocked unconscious.

I was about to try to talk some sense into her before Kagome spoke up first.

"Mayu, think hard about what your doing! Did your mother really abandon you?" Kagome said, getting the ghost girl to pause. "Maybe she didn't know you were inside the apartment during the fire?"

Realization dawned on Mayu's far as she drifted from the window towards the floor.

"It's all my fault. Not mom, not Satoru..." Mayu said as the ground started to crack underneath here.

This was not going to end well.

"I...I...I know! It was my fault!" Mayu cried out. Telekinetic shockwaves erupted from her and began to tear up the floor.

Both me and Kagome were shaken around, but both me and Kagome quickly noticed that Satoru's hospital bed was being pushed towards the broken window.

The two of us rushed to get him, but a shockwave blasted us and I landed right onto Satoru's bed that was soon overturned and tossed both me and Satoru out of the window.

"Y/N!" Kagome shouted as ran up and managed to catch one of my crutches as I fell out.

I dropped my other one in order to coat my other hand with ice and reached to grab Satoru. I managed to captured him, but my left eye was frosted over and stung like crazy.

At least I managed to secure Satoru.

"A little help here Y/N?!" Kagome shouted as she tried to pull the both of us up.

"Alright give me a second, just don't let go." I called up to here before trying to swing to the wall in order to climb up the wall.

But I never got the chance.

"Seriously, no matter the era it seems like you two always get into trouble in all the time I have known the both of you." A voice called out from a nearby building.

Wait a minute.

"Inuko what are you doing here?" Kagome called out as the inugami jumped right next to her.

"Had a feeling that the two of you would get in trouble, so I thought that I would tail you and looks like I was right. Anyway we got the both of you." Inuko said as she and Kagome hauled me and Satoru up.

Followed suit soon after by my other crutch lifted up by hairs.

"I cannot leave you alone for five minutes master, five minutes and I find you out a window, partially frozen, and carrying an unconscious child." Yura sighed out as she entered the room.

"Too be fair none of us expected us for it to go to like this." I said, as quickly straightened the bed with a small ice pillar and both me and Kagome placed the comatose boy back on the bed.

"Well it looks like you failed." Inuko said bluntly, pointing towards the center of the room.

Mayu was floating there, tears steaming from her face.

And the Tatarimokke appeared behind her, it's eyes fully open.

Shit!

"It's too late for her. If you made her aware of the truth behind her death, then it seems like it didn't bring piece to her." Inuko said as reddish chains began to spread out from behind the Tatarimokke.

"Like I would allow that to happen, Y/N!" Kagome said defiantly as she ran towards Mayu.

"On it!" I said as I hobbled after Kagome, before noticing Yura wrapping a bunch of hairs around us.

"There is no way I am allowing you to be dragged off to Yomi master." Yura shouted out as the chains wrapped around Mayu.

"Wait Yomi!" Mayu shouted out as the horror set in and she was staring be dragged towards were the chains were coming from.

"Don't worry, we got you now!" Kagome shouted as the two of us started to pull Mayu away.

"We are not going to let you go!" I said, freezing me into the ground as the both of us and Yura started to pull back.

For a few moments it looked like we were gaining traction with Mayu, bit the Tatarimokke began to play a song rapidly on it's flute.

The chains began to pull even harder and faster as Mayu and us struggle against them.

"Please no!" Mayu screamed out as she was dragged even further down towards the portal.

"We are not going to let that happen." I said generating more ice to my feet to and more frost to creep up on my right forearm.

The Tatarimokke continued to play it's flute even faster as there was a massive jerk in the chains.

It continued to pull us even further along, before Inuko grabbed a hold of us and dug her feet into the ground.

"Honestly I believe that this girl is possibly damned if that infernal yokai wants her that badly. But I am not letting that thing drag the both of you to Yomi, so put your backs into it!" Inuko growled out as we all struggled to pull Mayu out from the chains.

After a few moments it looked like we were finally pulling Mayu back, the Tatarimokke had enough and played a sharp note on it's flute and summoned a miasma that soon began to consume the chains and Mayu.

"No!" Mayu screamed as the miasma began to consume her before Kagome rushed up to her while I tried to dispell the ice around my feet as fast as I could.

"Don't worry I got you." Kagome said,n trying to reassure her as the miasma consumed them both.

By the time I had finally freed my feet the miasma had encompassed the entire room before fading away.

Leaving no sign of Kagome, Mayu, or the Tatarimokke.

We were too late...I was too late...

Kagome and Mayu were in Yomi now...

"Looks like it is up to the girl now." Inuko sighed out as walked next to me.

"I know, and I have faith that she would make it back with Mayu. But I was just so close to them..." I sighed out.

"The Tatarimokke wouldn't have dragged you down their either way master. It pulled the girl straight through my hairs. Seems like it only brings humans with it." Yura said, tightening her hairs around me.

Likely trying to prevent me from doing something.

But there was nothing I could do at this time.

I had faith in Kagome, she was able to get through to Mayu even if it was too late.

"Seems like that way, though I wish I could have done something more to help." I sighed out, before noticing the miasma starting to rise around us.

"You probably shouldn't have said that." Inuko said, drawing her claws out as we felt a pressure of some kind rising around us.

The moment the pressure happened, I could feel the presences inside my jewel shard react towards it.

One felt almost serene, accepting it.

The other felt like an animalistic fear towards it, trying it's best to escape from it.

Whatever this pressure was it couldn't have been good.

"If that is your wish, then so be it. I have been looking forwards to this moment after all." A woman's voice called out through the miasma, getting me on edge.

A pale hand shot out from the miasma and grabbed my arm before all I saw was darkness.

(Inuko POV)

"Y/N / Master!" Both me and Yura called out as a pale hand grabbed onto and caused him to black out.

I drew out Tessaiga to cut open or at the very least disarm whoever was dragging Y/N into Yomi.

However by the time I could take my swing, Y/N was gone and all I could hit was the miasma.

A soft laugh ringing out through the miasma.

"Damn it all, show yourself!" I growled out.

"Especially so I can cut you apart bit by bit before you can bring master back!" Yura said venomously, only getting to voice to laugh even further.

"What are you doing you hairy bitch, shouldn't you be defiant or at least pissed off about this?" I growled at her.

"It's no use, against her we are practically powerless. There is no chance for either of us to fight her. All we can do now is pray that she keeps her word and that the girl and master returns soon." Yura said, soundly completely defeated.

Okay...never thought I would here that coming from the hairy bitch at all.

"So I take it that you know who that was?" I questioned, putting Tessaiga away and getting Yura to scoff.

"Of course, I am more surprised you haven't put it together yet. After all she is your ancestor after all." Yura said.

My ancestor?

Well that voice did call me a descendant.

But that should be impossible my father's side of the family considering it should be all inugami daiyokai or yokai.

As for my mother's side, they should all be human. Rather important humans, but in Yomi status doesn't really matter all that much.

Except for the apparent stories of one ancestor, even then I find it a bit far fetched...unless of course they weren't stories.

If that is true and the Imperial family is actually descended from Amaterasu...

Oh fuck!

(Y/N POV - Yomi)

First thing I noticed upon waking up was that my crutches weren't with me and that frost was no longer covering my arm or eye.

The second thing was that I was in an apartment surround by fire and smoke and not being affected by it.

Which was a blessing, given that I was right in the middle of the blaze I would hate to think what it could do to me.

Sadly it was counterbalanced by the fact I could still barely stand on my own two feet.

Alright so I was in Yomi now, dragged in by...something that at least frightened one of the presences in my jewel shard.

Best not to think about it right now.

No the best thing to think of right now was to find Kagome and Mayu and get out of here.

I created a cane made of ice before trying to regain my footing and testing if my powers still worked before creating a pair of ice crutches.

I took a few steps before nearly walking into Kagome.

"Y/N you were dragged here too?" Kagome asked, getting me to nod.

"Right after you and Mayu did, but not by the Tatarimokke. I have no idea on finding out what." I said with a shudder.

"Then let's find Mayu and get out of here, I think I might know where she is." Kagome said.

"Then lead the way." I said, following her.

We freaked through the apartment with Kagome leading the way, calling out to the girl if she was somewhere else in hear. Calling her out at the top of our lungs, despite the fire producing no heat it still blocked out vision and was pretty loud.

"Mayu! Where are you?!" Kagome called out as we entered a bedroom.

Not even a few moments later we heard a door open and saw Mayu in the closet.

"I knew that she would be here." Kagome said as she ran to the door, knelt down, and reached out towards the ghost girl. "Come on, let's get out of here!"

"Are you two crazy, I am already dead! There is nothing left for me anymore!" Mayu cried out, before a crevice opened up behind her with smog starting to leak out behind it.

A one way ticket to the depths of Yomi...

Mayu screamed out as the chains around her started to drag her down.

I threw down my crutches and both me and Kagome grabbed onto one of Mayu's arms.

"We got you Mayu and this time we are not letting go. Not until we can get you out of here." I said.

"That's right, we are going to make sure of it. And then you can make peace with your mother." Kagome said as we both struggled to pull her back up.

"Why...why are you two doing so much for me?" Mayu asked looking down into the abyss below her.

"You don't deserve this Mayu, this isn't what you deserve. Your mother loves you Mayu, she loves you so much and are you alright with never seeing her again?" Kagome asked, getting Mayu to look up at her in surprise.

Looks like we were finally getting through to her.

"She's not angry?" Mayu asked, tears starting to stream from her eyes. "Mom's not angry at me?"

"Don't you worry, she's your mother. She loves you very much." Kagome said with a reassuring smile.

"It's true, no matter through life or death Mayu your mother's love will transcend all." I said with a smile of my own.

I should know too I suppose...I never knew my mother but I do know she loved me to her last moments in life.

Mayu began to cry at our words

"That's right Mayu let it all out. Let it all out, so that everyone one from the deepest pits of here to Takamagahara to hear about how you feel for your mother." I said to here, getting the perverbial damn to burst.

"Mom! I want to see you one more time, so I can say I'm sorry! I want to make it up to you!" Mayu cried out with all her heart.

The chains dragging her down broke and fell down to the abyss as well pulled Mayu back up.

The little girl burst into tears and clung onto us as the crevasse closed up and the area around us began to fade into darkness.

"It's alright Mayu, it's all over." Kagome said, trying to calm the girl down.

"Y/N is that-" "Yeah that is what who dragged me into Yomi." I said, interjecting Kagome. Dreading to face whatever did this.

Whoever this voice belonged to knew of our trips between eras.

Considering that they were in Yomi it wouldn't be too much of a surprise.

But to be able to grab me straight to Yomi, excluding a pressure of some kind, and a woman's voice...maybe it was a stretch but...

At that a soft laugh broke out through the darkness.

(Hospital)

When I could see again, I saw Kagome waking up and being clung to by a crying Mayu.

With myself being clung to by Yura relieved looking Yura and Inuko shaking her head.

"Good to see that you are both alright, though you smell like the dead Y/N. Though given that you were dragged into Yomi by Izanami herself it is too be expected." Inuko said, getting me to nod shakily.

Izanami no Mikoto, the Shinto Goddess of Creation and Death. A primordial being that rules over Yomi and only equal to her is her ex husband Izanagi.

Though considering how she acted and the pressure she excluded must have been only her ambient Kamiuitama, it would be safe to say she has mellowed out over the millennium.

Though I was not all that much looking forward to meeting her again given the implications of having to journey to Yomi once again so soon.

"And it is still quite a shock." I said a little shakily.

"Understatement of the century, I am still trying to think of a way to tell Gramps without him getting a heart attack." Kagome said dryly as she comforted Mayu.

"Master I am getting sorely tempted to throw you into my nest and never let you back out if these past few days are of any indication." Yura said seriously.

"And while I can understand the sentiment...well partially, if you do that the girl and I will have to kill you." Inuko said.

"I know, if it wasn't for my nest still being repaired or master holding my comb I would have done so by now." Yura said honestly.

Honestly I was just glad to have her comb on me at all times...

"Thank you..." Mayu cried out as looked between myself and Kagome. "Thank you both...if you hadn't stopped me...I would have done something horrible to Satoru and I never would have seen him or mom again."

"It will be alright, that is all in the past now. You have another chance to say goodbye to your mother, are you ready to do so?" Kagome asked, getting the ghost girl to nod.

"I'm ready...but can one of you please be there when I have to say goodbye to mom?" Mayu asked while looking between both myself and Kagome, the two of us figuring that she didn't want to be alone when it came time to crossover to the other side.

"Of course." Kagome said to her before facing me. "Y/N do you-"

"Go ahead, you obviously want to go with her. You were the first one who wished to help Mayu, it is only fair enough that you help her cross over." I said.

"That and I think it might be time to leave, don't want to be here when they arrive." Inuko said, pointing a finger toward the broken window, the sounds of sirens drawing near.

Time to go I suppose.

"I'll take master, you take the girl and the yurei." Yura said, getting Inuko to shrug.

"Fine by me, Kagome hope on." Inuko said, getting her to nod before facing me.

"See you tomorrow Y/N." Kagome said with a smile as she climbed onto Inuko.

"See you tomorrow Kagome." I said with a smile of my own before Mayu hugged me.

"Thank you." Mayu said softly before breaking off from me and following after Inuko and Kagome as the former jumped out of the window.

I tightened the grip on my crutches as Yura lifted us by her hairs and we took off towards home.

Our brief trip to Yomi still playing on my mind, and how exactly Izanami dragged me down there.

And proceeded to face palm as a realization came to me.

"Master?" Yura asked in confusion.

"I'm alright, just realized something painfully oblivious." I said with a groan. "I figured out a way to being Shippō to the modern era."

(The Next Day - Sengoku Jidai)

"No, you can't make me!" Shippō cried out as he tried to back away from Yura's hairs.

"Shippō please, this way you can make it to the my era. Besides Sōta will be here any minute now and I know you wish to surprise him and Kagome before they get home." I said, try to concern him into the well while leaning on a crutch.

Kagome had seen Mayu disappear after apologizing to her mother earlier this morning.

I had finally gone back to school and most of my classmates had already thought that I had nearly dyed my hair until they noticed my physical features had grown softer and my complexion paler.

Factor in the crutches and I had gotten a whole lot of questions on what happened, it was always explained with by a genetic condition on my mother's side.

How in Yomi Grandpa had gotten the paperwork to make it appear legit is something I would prefer not to know.

Anyway the entire time my mind was anxiously waiting for this moment.

"But the creepy lady-""Yura isn't going to hurt you while I am here and I get the last time we tried this you injured your head, but I have a good feeling about this. So do you trust me Shippō?" I asked him, getting Shippō to contemplate it for a few moments before sighing.

"Alright, but you better not try anything creepy lady." Shippō said as he turned to Yura.

"Since master is with you, there is nothing to worry about kit." Yura sighed out, possibly at another missed chance to get Shippō's fur as her hairs were wrapped around him.

The idea was based off Izanami using the opening the Tatarimokke created and modifying it for her own purpose.

I was going to have Yura bring the both of us from the other side of the well.

We tried it before days ago with Kagome, but Shippō slammed his head against the well's bottom and was knocked unconscious. That and Yura tried to get his fur before he woke up.

So it was wisely decided to keep the two of them separated.

Now however, we had a different method to use.

"Ready Yura?" I asked, getting her to nod as she jumped down the well. Immediately her hairs were pulling us towards the well.

"Are you ready Shippō?" I asked him as the kit grabbed onto me.

"I am." He said a little shakily, getting me to nod as I propped my crutch onto the well and used a little ice to lift us over and into the well.

Now with Yura's hair she can manipulate objects from the other side of the well, but we found that she can not bring anything living after all some experimentation. At least that was not myself, Kagome, and Inuko.

I even tried to bring Shippō to the my era by myself, but he was still stuck back in the Sengoku Jidai.

So me and Yura were going to attempt to bring him by ourselves and I was confident it would work this time.

Given the fact unlike Kagome I had a jewel shard embedded in my chest and Kagome brought me to the Sengoku Jidai when she possessed the full Shikon Jewel, there was a good chance it was feasible.

Add into the fact they we were approaching the ground, it was about time to see if I was right or not.

I grabbed a hold of Shippō, bracing myself to let him go if this didn't work.

Only for us to sink into the violet abyss that separated our eras.

"It worked." I said with a slight astonishment.

"It worked!" Shippō said excitedly, as we soon crossed though and were pulled out of the well.

"Guess you were right master." Yura said with a smile as she unwound the hairs around Shippō.

"Seems that way." I said happily

"So this is part of Kagome's family shrine." Shippō said as he walked out of the wellhouse and immediately blanched and stuck his younger out. "What in the name of Inari is that smell!?"

"Sadly that would be our era's atmosphere, took Inuko a moment to get used to it." I sighed out, getting Shippō to nod.

"It certainly will." Shippō groaned out. "You said that Kagome and Sōta would be here, but I do not smell her anywhere around here."

"That is because they are still on their way back from visiting Satoru now that he is awake. They should be here soon, and I know the perfect place to spot them. But first close your eyes and hold on tight." I said with a smile, getting Shippō to look confused before complying.

And for Yura to lift us into the air again.

"Not again! Get the creepy lady away from me!" The kit cried out as he tried to struggle away.

"It's alright Shippō, Yura only has her hairs around me. Besides we are here." I said as Yura set as down.

"And stop calling me a creepy lady." Yura said with a glare.

Shippō uncovered his eyes and looked at his new surroundings in awe.

We were on the roof of the Higurashi's house hold. The tallest viewpoint in the Shrine. And on the side that wasn't facing towards the shrine itself.

No it was towards a large glimpse of the surrounding area of Tokyo from all the way up here.

"T-This is Tokyo, it's so big!" Shippō cried out in awe.

"It sure is, and this is only a small fraction of it. Tokyo is actually the largest city in the entire world, at least in terms of people though." I said, shocking Shippō.

"You have got to be kidding me, this right here is larger then almost any city I have heard of from what I can see!" Shippō cried out in shock, getting me to chuckle.

"I wish, but it is the truth. It might be heavily populated but there is always something new to do or something interesting to explore here if you have the time.

From beautiful parks, to the buzzing of activity of Akihabara, and to the chaos of the Nerima ward.

" I said, getting Shippō to look at me with stars in his eyes.

"Do you think we could explore some of it one day?" Shippō asked excitedly, getting me to think about it.

"As we are now, I'm sorry but we can't. Not with your current skill in disguising yourself.

Maybe one day." I said, getting Shippō to sulk.

"But I do know at least one park we could visit without having to disguise yourself.

I will ask Grandpa to take us to there in two days before we head back to Sengoku Jidai to hunt for some more Jewel shards.

And only if you behave yourself and stop calling Yura a creepy lady for a while, okay? "

Shippō nodded happily before hugging me.

"Thank you Y/N." Shippō said with a smile.

"It's no problem Shippō." I said before receiving a text from Kagome. "They sould be here in about 5 minutes, ready to surprise them?"

"Of course." Shippō said happily, getting me to chuckle as I looked back at the view and started to get a head start on my homework.

I had several days worth of it to do and only so much time to do so.

As after tomorrow it would be time for us to spend some more time searching for the jewel shards.

That and while I might have school tomorrow, I did not want to be bogged down with homework tomorrow.

After all tomorrow marks 2 and a half weeks since this whole mess started on Kagome's birthday.

Meaning, tomorrow is the day I finally turn 15.

And a day where I could enjoy as a full human...if the jewel shards didn't mess it up that is

Hey guys Mukuro7 here and I hoped you all enjoyed this chapter.

I will keep this short as where I am it is late at night and I have a lot to do in the morning.

As you can see Y/N has had the unfortunate chance to briefly meet one of the Kami of the Shinto Pantheon and one of the most notorious.

However Izanami has seemingly already meet him and that will come up soon in the foreseeable future.

When though, not telling but it will be an interesting experience to say the least.

And as for Shippō is now in the modern era, which next chapter it will feature him interacting with Sōta and the two of them will get along quite well.

Speaking of which I might need some help with the next chapter and how things will go....this will be my first time writing something like this and especially...a confession.

That's right next chapter someone breaks the ice, but who will it be, you all will have to wait for the next chapter.

So until next time, ciao!
