Ch56 Ruminations of Four
(Inuko POV - Edge of Tatsu's village - Late at Night)
I waited against a tree that reeked of omukade, supposedly there had been one impaled on the tree before it was taken down. Staring down smoldering remains of Mittsume Jōrō and the numerous carcasses of Shibugarasu.
That was quite a sight to see and they wanted to get rid most of the bodies quickly. With Yura's hairs it was easy enough, of course they were going to take care of what remained of the bandit bodies tomorrow.
Currently I was keeping an eye on the bodies incase any of those accursed birds come back. Already had to cut up some flying towards the pile.
Of course it was only temporary, I also used the chance to scrounge around for any trace of who Yotsume was working for. But not even the barest trace of a scent.
Should have known from when I got my mother's beni back, they were clearly capable of masking their scent and presence. Just another damned reason to keep our eyes open as well from now on.
Speaking of which.
"I take it they finally settled down." I said, looking down on another branch to see Yura perched on one of them while Myōga jumped onto my shoulder.
"Kit took the longest to sleep, taken to clinging to the side of master's neck." Yura said, getting me to nod as Myōga jumped off my shoulder.
Y/N, Kagome, and Shippō were camping out in the ruins of one of the homes. Granted a good swath of the village was destroyed, but according to the villagers it was alright considering no one died and what was damaged was better than the omukade brood devastated it.
Although some were pretty banged up, not only from defending the village. Seemed like the toothless maggot had sent a few Shibugarasu in the way of where the evacuated.
Nothing fatal but it will probably take a while for them to heal.
Y/N hide his scales behind his scarf for the most part and took some work to clear up the remains to burn them before calling it a night. Pretty much done with everything considering the day I heard they had.
But he and Kagome did share a few details of what they learned and the plan going forward.
Going to help out a bit tomorrow before leaving, stopping near the foothills of the mountains before crossing them into the next town and a straight shot back to Kikyō's village and to their era.
Something that I have no qualms with, been a long enough past few days...
"Still no trace of who was behind the three eyed wrench and damned owl?" Yura said, breaking me from my thoughts.
"No, whoever did it is capable of masking their scent. Only possible clue was that voice Y/N heard with Zero, but no way to go on with that." I growled out as I turned to Myōga. "Do you know anything about this?"
Learning about her was nothing new, someone with yet another connection to my father is after my head. The only difference is she is Kirinmaru's older sister and another example of my father's shitty love life.
"If there was such a thing I would have known over these past 200 years at least. What I do know is that she has had an attendant for centuries, he was probably the same one.
If they are one and the same who has the Midori Pearl, I have no clue.
With how secretive they are, it is someone who holds the upmost trust between Lord Kirinmaru and Lady Zero.
" Myōga said while shaking his head. "I would also advise not to order me to try and gain word from Hōsenkei of their description Lady Inuko. "
"Why not?" I growled out.
"A case Hōsenkei himself made to Lord Tōga, to never reveal his clients and to never make an item that could be used against your father.
He was a jewel crafter by trade and strong enough to make most thieves regret trying to steal his works.
Considering it was to rebuild Lady Izayoi's beni, along with they could have used a different servant to pick it up than the Midori Pearl's keeper. " Myōga said, getting me to growl.
Slamming my fist against the tree bark, another damned dead end then.
"It would make sense, just have to keep our eyes out even more." Yura said as I jumped down onto a lower branch.
"Right, so nothing new." I said, stretching myself out. "Anyway, you seem to know what is going on, something about mizuchi scales?"
Yura just shook her head, looking more amused than anything.
"Thought that you heard me, nothing more than an assumption that master might have come too by now." Yura said, getting me to raise an eyebrow.
"And what would that be?" I asked, wondering what she was going with this.
Honestly I had no real idea what could cause the change from the pearl.
Yet if the hairy bitch knew and Y/N when described the aspects last night with Kagome, the it was definitely something that was already there.
"Found a case with helping master clean his house. Where he thought an ancestor of his got the mizuchi scales that had been shed off as thanks for saving it. He said there was more, but we couldn't find any." Yura said, shaking her head.
"Only you think they were from a human, some kind of curse." I said before looking down at Myōga. "Didn't you think of a similar thing?"
"Yes but a particular curse from Lady Zero, the Silver Scale curse.
Using one of her own scales, those that oppose her get covered with gleaming silver scales that deform them while rotting their insides.
" Myōga said before shuddering and looking at me with wide eyes.
"Lady Inuko, if you ever encounter her and a speck of silver steer clear!
Lady Zero saves it those she deemed it necessary and was held back by Lord Kirinmaru. But with the pearls..."
"Probably on sight, got it." I said, dreading to think what would happen.
Given the fear in Myōga's eyes, he definitely seen what it could do. If it can scare the coward this much definitely is something to fear.
"If she doesn't find it more than willing to skin the bitch." Yura said while shaking her head. "A daiyokai that can make a curse like that and without her emotions, well I'm not even certain what she would do."
"I bet." I sighed out while shaking my head. "After we get them back to the village, I'll check the scales. If they have a similar scent than we have an answer. Anyway have a good time scrounging the corpses for hair."
"You know me well enough, there is a few good samples." Yura said, shaking her head. "But there is something I do have to ask."
Oh don't tell me.
"If it's the same thing last night, not even a kami will stop me from snapping your damned comb!" I growled out as I turned to glare at her. "Leave the two of them alone!"
"Not that." Yura said not really flinching, and I'm pretty sure she was lying about that part. "Do you still believe wishing on that accursed jewel to become a full yokai is worth it?"
Okay...that was one I did not expect.
Took a deep breath to calm myself before shaking my head.
"Yes, before giving it too Y/N to make a wish
. I've spent 50 years strung up in a tree and several decades longer to try and make it a reality. Besides you literally held part of a successful wish in your hairs, more than enough proof it will work." I said.
A single wish made seven pearls each a 1/10th of the Shikon no Tama's power.
If it can do that, wishing to become a full human, yokai, or just a hanyo should be a simple enough manner.
"True, but a wish to get rid of one's grief, yoki, and heart. Not to create the Rainbow Pearls with its own energies." Yura sighed out. "Just be careful what you wish on it, both master and Kagome cares for what happens to you. That and the kit too."
Actually chuckled a bit at that.
"You know, I'm actually starting to think you do care." I said with a smirk which she returned. "Wake us up if anything else other than the Shibugarasu turn up, could use something else to vent out."
With that I bounded out of the tree. Jumping from treetop to treetop before landing on the remains of the village wall. Before jumping off it and from the rooftops looking for a place to sleep.
"Lady Inuko." Myōga said from my shoulder, getting me to glance down at him. "Do you really intend to still make that wish."
"More than almost anything, I might actually have an idea to do so without a twist...one that could turn out the best for everyone. One that could have worked." I sighed out, getting Myōga to look at me curiously.
"Why didn't it?" He asked.
"I ended up with an arrow in my chest and Kikyō was killed" I growled out, getting the flea yokai to stiffen. "I'll deal and disembowel that damned yokai when we find it before considering making the wish a reality."
First I need to figure out if Y/N would want to become a full human or just a regular hanyo again. Plenty of time to ask him with the shards still scattered a crossed Nippon.
Maybe we could do what me and Kikyō could never got a chance to do in the first place...
Honestly if things had worked out I would be an old woman by now, I would hopefully still be living away with Kikyō...well there was no use in waiting energy on a dream that would come true now.
What I can do now is help make sure at least Y/N and Kagome get to live such a chance. After we gather all the shards.
Even if I...
I let out a snarl as I shook my head to clear those thoughts from my head before continuing to look for a place to sleep. Really need to not think about that...
(Y/N POV - Ruins of a House - Tatsu's Village - Late Morning)
I smiled as I looked at several of the village kids playing with a temari ball with Shippō, all of them looking carefree. Compared to yesterday it was a nice change of pace.
No longer fearing that Mittsume Jōrō will ever return, especially with her remains nothing more than ashes to be scattered around the fields for the coming weeks.
Word of her death will soon spread along with the news the Shikon Jewel shard being goon. Leaving the village safe from more threats.
Relatively as safe as you can get in the Sengoku Jidai anyway.
Rebuilding the village will take some time to complete, and according to the village it should be much easier with how much remained standing. At least they hoped to get some assistance from their local daimyō in the town of Masuko quite a bit aways from the village.
Some of them had already gone off through the forest to spread the word, all of them armed to the teeth. Kagome was going with them part of the way just incase while Yura and Inuko scoured the forestfor any other trace of those involved last night.
Mainly also incase for any Shibugarsu remaining, both Inuko and Yura had their fair share to deal with last night.
As for myself it was mainly keeping an eye on Shippō and helping out the villagers...
"Easy there!" Mitsusaki cried out, breaking me from my thoughts as I pulled back the mist covered towl from his chest. "It's freezing!"
"Were you expecting anything else?" I asked flatly, getting him to at least look sheepish. "Not the last time someone will say that, just one more time." Placing the towl back on his chest and getting a muffled protest from him.
I was helping to heal those that were injured in the attack last night, using clothes dosed and a boiling pot. Cooling them and transferring my yoki through them, applying it to wounds caused in the battle.
Not really that confident I could do the same with my bare hands without risking accidentally giving someone minor ice burn until I can get my powers back under control.
But at least absorbing the energy of the Midori Pearl at least did one good thing.
Removing the towel from Mitsusaki's chest, I threw it into a pile that was set aside to be cleaned later. Moving next to a still active fire pit, a small pot of boiling water resting over the fire.
Smiling a little as I got close to the fire before recoiling a little bit.
The Midori Pearl restored some of my tolerance for heat back a few shards. Enough with the shards the difference was a bit noticeable. It will probably take some more shards before this small resistance is nulled again.
I was in no rush for it or to find the other Pearls to see if the effect could be repeated.
"They're almost completely gone." Mitsusaki said, looking at the remains of where Yotsume had slashed at him with his talons.
Leaving nothing more than small scratches that should heal on their own in a few days.
"I'd already sealed up the worst or it last night, should completely fade in a day or two." I said, handing him some bandages as the village leader chuckled as he walked to the house ruins with a hand behind his back.
"Are you sure that we can't convince everyone to stay in the village, you'll helped us so much." He said before looking sheepish. "Also..."
"Fine." I sighed out, him showing his hand and the towel behind it. Grabbing it and applying a quick burst of mist as the village leader applied it to his back with a relieved sigh. "This is the last time and the relief will wear off in a few days. Also how is Sōkyu?"
The man had snapped out of the trance Yotsume or his benefactor placed on him after everything started to calm down and had been mostly incoherent. Last I know he was still lying and being looked over in one of the more intact houses.
"He is alright, still a little bit out there but he just needs to rest a day or two.
Judging by how much he can remember that damned tatarimokke nabbed him the morning after we saw him.
After that it's all blank, not sure if he can even remember that.
Might be for the best." He sighed out as I nodded.
"Perhaps." I said while shaking my head. "And we'll need to be on our way in the afternoon."
"Shame, but nothing we can do. If you all ever return you'll always welcome here." The village chief said, letting out a sigh as he pressed the towel to his back. "I know we'll certainly appreciate it."
"Father..." Mitsusaki said, looking embarrassed.
"Wait a few decades." He said before looking at the children playing. "Where's Tatsu?"
"He's with Arika, I was going to get you after getting treated." Mitsusaki said, putting his shirt back on. "He wanted to head to the shrine to pray, I know the omukade's gone but..."
"We don't want a repeat of yesterday, besides I haven't been back there since the attack." The village chief said with a smile.
"I think Yura should be around that area, but it seems like for now the forest will mainly be safe for now." I said, before noticing something on the rooftops. "I think I'll take a break."
"Nearly everyone has already been treated from last night, take all the time you need." The village chief said with a smile, motioning for his son to follow after him.
Once he and Mitsusaki left, I smiled as someone jumped down behind me.
"How is everything Inuko?" I asked before turning to see her shaking her head. "I take it that you couldn't find anything?"
"Not like we really expected anything else. Closest thing I could find was a series of holes with a decaying omukade and a ton of bones inside. Definitely where the brood had settled." She said as I nodded, walking over to where I had placed my bag among the ruins.
"Probably Mittsume Jōrō's sister, they did say she was blinded in the attack. Or it could have been one more that came to the mountains." I said, pulling out a notebook.
My best guess was probably it was her sister trying to feed and died from starvation or just a dumping ground for Mittsume Jōrō's meals or enemies.
Best I didn't know.
"Well whatever it was, I caved in the roof of some of the tunnels.
Blocked the main entrance with a tree too.
That place was the closest to the mountains, if there are more tunnels I haven't found them.
What I do know is that no one living has been there for a long time.
" Inuko said, getting me to nod as I started to sketch.
A dead end like we figured, at the least Inuko had reduced some the area to rubble.
"How are you doing Inuko, about everything?" I asked, getting her to sigh and her ears to droop a little.
"Fine...well as I can be anyway. I had a few weeks to process that she was gone, I just hope that Kikyō can finally rest in peace now..." She said, shaking her head. "No matter what we tried to do to help her..."
"...Kikyō was deadset on taking you with her until the end." I finished before Inuko jumped closer to me.
"We all tried, but the one things Kikyō definitely shares with Kagome is their stubbornness. Once she set her mind on something, nothing in Yomi would stop her from seeing it through..." Inuko said, smiling a little while letting out a small chuckle. "Never thought it would ever be literal."
"Same." I said, hoping that part would never need to come true with Kagome.
The way Inuko smirked at me, I guess she knew exactly what I was thinking.
"But it's part of who they are." Inuko said, looking a little wistful.
"And we wouldn't love them any less for it." I said, getting her to smile.
"No...no we wouldn't..." She said.
For a few moments Inuko stood there, looking like there was something she wanted to say. Before sighing and shaking her head.
I wonder if there was something on her mind?
"Anyway how are you Y/N, considering." She said, tapping a finger against her neck.
"Fine, they itch a little but are less noticeable than the accursed shard." I said, adjusting my scarf around my neck. "But I suppose becoming a little less sensitive to heat Is fine, makes me feel a bit more human considering. The worst part was when I saw her memories."
"Which was?" Inuko asked tersely.
"Either experiencing her grief or losing her emotions...one was soul crushing even feeling it secondhand." I said, stopping sketching and shuddering remembering the experience. "The other...it felt like every single time we get a shard."
"Only it was in a single instant instead of slowly." Inuko said, getting me to nod.
I couldn't tell what was worse, slowly losing everything or in an instant like Zero had wished for.
At least with Zero it was just a singular instance.
With every shard I was literally losing a little piece of what made me a hanyo. And there were more shards that have been scattered all over Japan that I might become a full yuki-onna before we even complete the Shikon Jewel.
Possibly the only way to reverse it the process was with the same thing turning me into a full yokai.
A cruel irony.
But experiencing the creation of the pearls really hammered in something I had been dreading. That I could very well lose myself before we can gather all the shards.
I didn't really had anything to confirm it aside from my human half being chipped away...
"Hey!" Inuko said, snapping me back to reality and noticing she was a lot closer now. "No use worrying about it Y/N, we're all here for each other. I'm sure we'll figure what is going on. But remember one thing."
Inuko...
"That we hanyos have each other's back." I said, shaking my head with a small smile as she grinned.
"Damned right, be sure to speak about this with Kagome too." Inuko said, getting me to smile.
"Speaking from experience?" I asked.
Inuko's answer was her grin widening, then frowning.
"Heads up." Inuko said, jumping back a bit. Making me wonder what she saw.
Before I shot my hands out to barely catch a temari ball that nearly struck my face.
"Nice shot kit, but be careful where you aim it!" Inuko called out as Shippō bounded over to use.
"Sorry Y/N." Shippō said as I handed him the temari. He briefly tossed it up in the air joyfully, catching and looking up at the both of us. "Y/N, Inuko can you both please play a game with us?"
We looked at him and at the group of children that had gathered behind him, Inuko sighed as she smiled.
"Fine, I got nothing better to do at the moment." Inuko said, getting Shippō to beam in happiness. "You coming Y/N?"
"Sure, just let me put this away." I said, closing my notebook while smiling. "Start without me Shippō."
"Okay." He said, nodding before he tossed the temari back to the other kids and running back to them.
As Inuko walked towards them, I smiled back at them before opening up my bag.
Could use this to take my mind of things, yet better to enjoy things as they are now.
While my worries about the shards are doing to my body are just one of what seem to be many issues that seem to be compiling at every turn now, at least it's something that I won't have to deal with alone.
(Yura POV - Shrine outside of the village - Half an hour later)
I hung back in the trees, watching as the boy and the rest of his family were finishing their prayers at the shrine.
The forest was particularly quiet minus a few of those filthy crows flying about, no doubt stragglers last night. Most at least had the sense to bolt when I drew near. Some were either braver or dumber than their compatriots.
All of them them either strung up in trees as a warning or I stream will end up as some scavenger's lunch.
Tomorrow these forest should be completely clear of those filthy crows.
Looking at the shrine, it seemed like they are starting to head back to the village. Only for the boy to stop in his steps, turning his head up to face me.
I wasn't exactly trying to hide anyway.
He tilted his head before waving at me with a smile.
Scanning around the environment I saw that there was nobody else noticing before giving him a small wave.
The boy smiled before running after the rest of his family.
"Don't think that I didn't see that." Kagome's voice rang out from somewhere close by.
I just sighed, figuring that I must be getting too comfortable in the area to be letting my guard down like this.
Jumping down from the tree, landing on a hair to see a grinning Kagome, her hama-ya slung under her arms.
"Blame master and his bleeding heart." I said while shaking my head. "I take it everything was quiet on your end?"
"Minus a Shibugarasu or two, they flew away before I could notch an arrow.
Guess you ran into a few." Kagome said, getting me to nod.
"Managed to escort the villagers further into the forest before they were confident on making it to the next town themselves.
Actually I spent the rest of my walk back here trying to spot you, figuring either you would still be somewhere in the treetops or back in the village. "
Oh?
Well this is interesting.
"I believe that the bitch made it back there not that long ago. Still to come seeking me out yourself..." I said with a smile, drawing closer to her. "What do you want to speak about Kagome?l
Her silence and uneasy look was telling before she sighed, scanning around while shaking her head.
"Not here, we need to head a bit further in." Kagome said, getting me to nod as she turned around.
Kagome not noticing the grin spreading across my face.
Seems like she has finally come to an answer, took her around two weeks but I've been waiting for this.
Pulling myself back into the treetops, I started to follow after Kagome.
Trailing her for a minute or two as we grew deeper into the forest before she came to a stop at a small clearing, her standing next to a tree with what looked like several arrow marks left on the trunk. Perhaps a spot where she went out to hunt the beetle yesterday.
Well it was certainly out of the way enough I suppose.
"You already know why I wanted to talk." Kagome sighed out as I landed on the ground.
"Indeed I was going to seek you out and ask if you came up with a decision or not. I certainly didn't expect for you to already come up with one or to seek me out." I said, somewhat truthfully.
Didn't expect for her to seek me out herself, but after everything especially with Kikyō it seems Kagome has finally decided on one.
"I have..." Kagome said, looking uneasy before steeling herself. "Fine...I've decided to share Y/N..."
By Chirizuka Kaiou have I been waiting for her to say yes!
"Like you said, it's probably going to get worst and there is what happened these past two days. Seeing what happened with Kikyō and Inuko and then what Y/N saw with Zero's memories...I already knew asked about Tōga's love life from Myōga." Kagome said, getting me to frown and sigh.
And my good mood was ruined, but I had more or less prepared for that particular vase of kodoku.
"I already know something about the latter, the old flea mentioned something about it yesterday. He figured out where you might have gotten the idea to ask him, he doesn't want a repeat of what happened to Tōga and his wives after his death." I said, Kagome nodding while sighing.
Ether not to bring up the bitch's situation into the mix right now. Something to bring up after Inuko has some more time...I'm not sure what I would do if I had to live through that...
And I'm unsure if Kagome even suspects her or not to have feelings for master.
One issue at a time, there is already more than enough pulling around us.
"Should have known. But aside from that, with Kikyō willing to kill Inuko rather than going back to the afterlife alone and Zero casting aside her own emotions and yoki out of grief for losing Tōga, one that according to Myōga he never noticed her feelings.
" Kagome said while shaking her head. "I swear to Amaterasu that I do not want things to ever get that way. .."
"We won't, as I said we'll make sure of that." I said.
"Hopefully, although admittedly I don't know what to do from here." Kagome said, looking a little unsure.
"Honestly I don't either, didn't have much a plan beyond getting you answer." I admitted, Kagome glared at me. "You know me well enough what I wanted out of this, but we'll figure things out together. But there will be more in the future."
She stared at me for a few moments before sighing.
"I know, it will take some time to get used to that. The only one so far I can confirm fully is Hiten, she has made her intentions quite clear for all three of us." Kagome said, getting me to shudder.
"Not dealing with that brand of crazy, and we both suspect Sesshōmaru but can't really tell." I said, with Kagome nodding in agreement. "Let's just discuss what to do for now and I assume the old flea had given you the same advice I did."
"Find common ground other than Y/N." Kagome said.
"Exactly." I said as she sighed before gaining a stern expression.
"Alright, but I want to make something clear first." Kagome said.
I already knew what she wanted.
"You wanted some more time with master to yourself." I said, getting Kagome to nod. "Figured considering everything, you'll still have plenty of time after we solidify our arrangement."
"I know, just I want to spend some more time just the two of us...and about sharing Y/N we need to tell him." Kagome sighed out. "We will tell him once we're back in our era."
"So back in relative safety, understandable." I said, fine with this answer.
I'll have to wait some more, but I'm more than happy with how things are right now. Besides better to indulge in this without the fear of us being hunted by Hiten, Sesshōmaru, Kirinmaru's followers possibly actions out, or the yokai that has been stalking us.
"You'll get your time there and I take it that you want to be the first to claim him in bed." I said.
"Exac-" Kagome said, before her entire face turned red as I smirked "Yura!"
"Just speaking the truth." I said, pulling myself back into the tree tops for a moment as it looked like she was reaching for her quiver.
Seems like she wasn't ready for that yet, but was not denying it either.
I waited a few more moments before Kagome looked like she was calming down, at least enough to not lash out with a reiryoku charged arrow into this body.
Jumping down before Kagome turned to face me, looking furious and her face a little red before taking a deep breath.
"Let's just discuss what to do about this now." Kagome said, her tone a little heated as I smiled.
"Of course." I said happily.
It will still take a little time before I can get with master, but getting Kagome to even agree was perhaps the most difficult part in all of this. All we have to do now was lay the foundations. After spending weeks with him I was no fool to think there will be more.
But me and Kagome want to make sure we at least had an idea on what to do in the future.
As for my time with the master, I can wait. Just only a short manner of time now.
But we both want to make sure every is okay before it becomes official.
(Kagome POV - Outside of Tatsu's village - 20 minutes later)
He should be around here somewhere...
Took quite a bit to discuss the details of my...arrangement with Yura. We at least have a solid idea of a plan to start now and just see and adjust how things are in the future...
Still can't believe I'm doing this...
Yet better to just deal with this now before it could get any worst in the future...and I think I had more or less come to this answer the night before.
I don't want to wish that experience on anyone...
Shaking my head to clear my thoughts, I went to look for Y/N and Shippō. According to the villagers they should be around this field somewhere.
Went looking for them after finishing talking with Yura, but I couldn't find Y/N anywhere in the village. Asking around I found out that he and Shippō had headed off in this direction a bit before I got back.
What they were doing right now, no one had a clue. I intend to find out.
Neither of them couldn't have gotten far...wait what was that?
I thought I heard something familiar in the distance, stepping off the pathway and a bit away from the field. Walking for a few moments as the sound grew louder.
Smiling as the sound became much cleared as I drew closer to where Y/N and Shippō definitely were.
Might have been a long time since when I last heard it, but I definitely recognize the theme for the Millennium Fair.
It took just about another minute to find them, Y/N sitting on the side of a small hill with Shippō sitting on his lap. With Y/N's phone in his hands, looking back at Y/N.
"So what now?" Shippō asked?
"Explore where ever you want, though piece of advice. Going to the very back will just continue the story. There's plenty of fun things to do at the fair." Y/N said.
"He's right about that, but I can barely remember any of it." I said, getting their attention. "I take it Shippō wanted to play on your phone."
"He did, asked me about after me and Inuko played some temari with him." Y/N said with a smile as Shippō went back to playing on the phone. I walked up and sat down next to them. "How was everything?"
"Quite thankfully, what about with you?" I asked him.
"Managed to get everyone patched up as much as I can, they should be alright now." Y/N said, getting me to nod.
"All that is left for us to do is head back home from here." I said, leaning against him as I shook my head. "It's been a long few days."
"Perhaps we'll have another few up ahead. But at this point it can be a toss up in between." Y/N said.
"True, but just another day for us then." I said, getting him to nod. Before smiling as I looked at Shippō grinning as he beat a cat like robot in the game. "I take it that you're enjoying it so far?"
"Yup, but it seems a little easy so far. But then again it's only the beginning. You said that it's like what we do with the well, can't wait to see that." Shippō said before looking back at Y/N. "Do you have any more like this?"
"One or two, mainly have a bunch of older game from my father. Can show you when we get back." Y/N said, getting Shippō's eyes to sparkle as I held back a chuckle.
Well looks like he might've gotten Shippō hooked on video games maybe.
Still it will be a fun thing to see at least.
I just leaned into Y/N and he did the same as Shippō continued to play away.
Between going our era and the Sengoku Jidai I was starting to get accustomed to this all...well most of the time. And maybe a little too much, especially when it comes to fighting yokai...maybe a little bit too much.
I definitely been hanging around Inuko and Yura too much...
Yet for these small moments between the chaos, I think I might just enjoy the most. The ones I look forward to the most in this new lifestyle of ours.
And I just want to spend as long as I can to just enjoy this before we have to start up everything again.
(Chapter 56 end)
