Chapter 10

BAILEY

Sipping on red wine, I picked at leftover vegetables as I sat on the couch with Liam while he finally ate his dinner.

“You didn’t tell me.”

I quirked an eyebrow at him, waiting for him to push me on this. “You haven’t told me,” I countered.

“Yeah, but—”

“But what? Should I have confessed to you in the heat of the moment? Or maybe I should have said something while you were cooking dinner. Would that have made things better?”

“I had a right to know,” he growled, shoving another bite of steak into his mouth.

“And now you do.”

Taking a sip of wine, I refused to acknowledge my little confession that I hadn’t made. It didn’t matter. Yes, I had waited for him.

Not exactly on purpose, but I just hadn’t met anyone else I felt a connection with.

Which reminded me of what I had led Cheyenne to believe, and how pissed she would be if she ever found out. Not that I had to worry about Liam saying anything.

“Bailey,” he growled.

Rolling my eyes, I shot him an irritated look. “What?”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Because I didn’t want you thinking that I was pining after you for all these years, waiting for you to make a move! I mean, obviously, I was, but that’s not why I hadn’t slept with anyone else.”

His eyes gleamed with the knowledge that I had been waiting for him, but he already knew that. He just liked hearing me say it.

“Then why didn’t you?”

Sighing, I knew he wasn’t going to let this drop. “Because I just never saw anyone else in that way. If I was even remotely attracted to anyone else, I would have, but I’m afraid you ruined me for anyone else when you saved me on the playground. Now you’re stuck with me.”

A satisfied smirk played across his lips as he shoved another forkful in his mouth.

“And you? Dare I ask how many other women you’ve bedded?”

“You really want to know?”

Did I? Not really. The jealousy would get to me. I didn’t like the idea that he might have been out giving a bunch of women what only belonged to me. At least this way, I could pretend I was the only one for him.

But there was one thing I had to know.

“Alright, this is going to sound…irrational. I don’t want to know how many or anything like that, but I do need to know, was there anyone in town?”

Smirking, he leaned forward, brushing his thumb over my lip. “Why? Are you going to run out and kill them?”

“Maybe.”

He shook his head slowly. “No one from town.”

Then he pressed his lips to mine in a sweet kiss.

“Good. I would hate to have to feed someone to your pigs.”

“We don’t have pigs anymore.”

“Then I guess it’s a good thing you didn’t stick your dick in anyone in town,” I smile sweetly.

Chuckling, he leaned back into the couch and finished off his plate of food. Knowing there was no one from town made all the difference in the world, but now I felt like there were still a bunch of unknowns. Would I always feel like this, or was it the dopamine from sex messing with my brain?

Deciding there was no moving on from this if I kept thinking about it, I laid on my back, resting my head on his thigh. I felt him lean forward and then heard the clank of the plate on the table as I let my eyes drift shut.

“You’re dangerous for me,” he admitted, his voice gruff and low.

“Same here, buddy.”

“I’m not your buddy,” he growled as his hand slipped into my shirt from the top.

Rough fingers brushed across my breasts before finding my nipple. A small tug sent an instant spark between my legs and shuddered, wondering if it was always like this.

“You’re beautiful,” he murmured, bending low to press a kiss to my lips.

My eyes fluttered open, staring upside down at the man I had loved for years.

“Is it always like this?”

“Like what?” Another tug at my nipple made my heart kick up. I clenched my thighs as my pussy pulsed with need.

Emotions and silly flutterings of need clogged my throat, making it impossible to speak.

“Is it always like…this?” he asked, sliding his hand down to the apex of my thighs.

I gasped as his fingers slid between my legs, pumping slowly in and out of my wet heat. An overwhelming, dizzying sensation swam in my head with every pulse of his fingers. My heart hammered in my chest, pounding in my ears.

I was hot. I was dizzy. Every sensation felt like I was being set on fire.

A mewling whimper slipped free as he leaned over me, spreading my shirt wide as he took a nipple in his mouth, biting down on it gently.

“Like that? Or…” His lips trailed down my stomach as he got on his knees. Then his mouth was on me, spreading my legs even wider and he groaned and flicked his tongue over my clit.

Desperate for more, I bucked against his mouth, crying out as he bit down on my nub while pumping his fingers in and out of me. I was gushing, desperate for more. The slightest touch sent me over the edge, but this…

His fingers slipped free, only to be replaced by his tongue. My hips involuntarily thrust up, pushing my pussy against his face. The grunt that left his mouth only drove me higher until I cried out, coming hard against his mouth.

But he didn’t stop there.

His tongue swirled against my thigh, licking and biting a path down my leg until his cock dangled in front of me. Reaching for it, I wrapped my hand around his thick girth, surprised at how big he really was. I hadn’t seen it before, but now it was staring me in the face.

“Lick it,” he growled, staring at me upside down.

Tentatively, I stuck my tongue out, licking a long path from the tip down to the root. I had no idea what I was doing, and no amount of online research could prepare a girl for the real deal.

But the approving muttered curse gave me the confidence to keep going. This time, I licked the tip, then slid my mouth over it, taking him as deep as the angle would allow.

“Holy shit,” he swore. “Fuck, Bailey…”

Opening wide, I took him deeper, swallowing him until I couldn’t take any more, but when I tried to pull back, he bucked his hips, pushing himself deeper into my mouth.

I gagged slightly, unused to the feeling of his cock in my throat. As he backed out, his heated eyes met mine in a challenge. Gripping his hips, I took him back in my mouth, moaning around his cock when my tongue flicked across the precum leaking from his tip.

“Fuck! Bailey, don’t stop,” he panted, his hips already jutting forward.

Just as I took him all the way to the back of my throat, his mouth latched onto my pussy and his tongue filled me. I cried out, swallowing him as he devoured me.

Warmth spread through me and a buzzing coasted down my spine as I swallowed around him. A heady rush pushed me to make this amazing for him, to make him come down my throat.

I licked and sucked, slobbering all over him as he slid two fingers inside me and fucked me hard. I barely felt him hit the back of my throat as he pinched my clit and sent me over the edge.

Crying out, I thrashed in his arms as he fucked my mouth, all the while, his fingers still driving hard and fast inside me. I gripped his hips one last time and sucked hard just as he hit the back of my throat.

Tangy cum spilled inside my mouth as he held himself against me. Darkness started to creep in as sensations overwhelmed me, and just when I thought I would pass out, my airways opened and the light returned.

I laid there in a daze, my eyes fuzzy as I stared up at the ceiling, panting and trying to regain my balance. Then he was leaning over me, pressing kisses to my lips as he wrapped me in his arms.

“Fucking amazing,” he murmured.

That was the last thing I remembered before I passed out.

Warmth enveloped me in a tight cocoon that I never wanted to leave. Moaning, I rolled toward the warmth and snuggled in deep, my nose wrinkling when hair tickled my nose.

Swatting, I tried to brush it away, but nothing helped.

“Morning, baby.”

Moaning again, I pressed my face to Liam’s chest, ignoring the way his chest hair continued to brush against my face.

“It’s time to get up.”

I shook my head. “Mm-mm.”

“What’s that?”

“Too early,” I groaned.

“The sun’s up.”

That woke me up really fast. I sat bolt upright in bed, my eyes adjusting to the early morning light. If the sun was already up, that meant I was late. And I was never late.

“Shit. Wyatt’s gonna kill me,” I grumbled as I shot out of bed and ran for the bathroom.

“He’s not gonna kill you,” Liam shouted.

Slamming the door shut, I quickly sat down to pee, sniffing myself before deciding I was just going to have to smell like sex the rest of the day. There was no way around it.

The door opened and Liam peeked his head in. “Baby—”

“Don’t open the door! I’m peeing!”

“Bailey, I saw all of you last night. I had my tongue in places—”

“Did I tell you to give me a running account of all the things you did to me last night?”

“You’re being weird.”

“I’m being perfectly normal! You do not walk in on someone when they’re peeing!”

I peeked around the wall, narrowing my eyes at him when I spotted him leaning against the wall without a care in the world. With his naked body on full display, I almost forgot about the fact that I had work today.

Almost.

“Can you please leave so I can finish going to the bathroom?”

His blunt nails ran over the scruff on his jaw as he contemplated my request. I rolled my eyes, irritated with the man for taking his sweet time when I was in a rush.

“Now, I don’t know. That sounds like a request that requires some much-needed forethought and attention.”

“What are you talking about?” I screeched. “I’m not asking you to save the world. I’m asking you to leave the bathroom!”

He nodded, grunting in agreement as he slowly slid his hand down his body until he gripped his growing erection, giving it two pumps.

I would be lying if I said I was immune to the action, or that I ignored the way his cock throbbed as he reached the tip. But I didn’t have time for shenanigans this morning. I was going to be late, and then I would get fired.

Especially after yesterday’s fiasco with Wyatt’s brothers.

“It won’t work,” I argued. “I can’t be late.”

“You’re already late.”

Rolling my eyes, I tried to be irritated, but he was standing there in the buff. How the hell was I supposed to be mad when he was looking so sexy, tempting me with all the things I desperately wanted?

“Liam, I’m warning you—”

But then he sauntered forward, his hand slipping from his cock, leaving it to bob free in front of me. I tried to look away, tried desperately to ignore what the sight of him was doing to my body.

I would not be one of those women so easily tortured by the sight of a good-looking man.

He stood directly in front of me, his cock bobbing in my face as he smirked down at me. “You were saying?”

I opened my mouth to tell him to go to hell, but that never did happen.

Sometimes I really hated men.

Thirty minutes later, I was rushing around Liam’s house, gathering all my things as I hopped into one boot, trying to figure out what the hell I was going to say to Wyatt.

“Relax. It’ll be fine.”

“It will not be fine,” I hissed. “I hate being late.”

“I’ll explain it to him.”

I barked out a laugh at that. “Sure. You’ll just walk up to him and tell him I was too busy fucking you to show up on time.”

“I was thinking of saying something a little more discreet, but we can go with that if you think it’ll work.”

I stopped, my foot still raised in the air, and shot him my most lethal glare.

“Or not.”

Shoving my foot the rest of the way into my boot, I grabbed my purse and headed for the door. Thankfully, Liam didn’t try to push it any further and followed me out, locking his door behind him.

By the time we hit the road, I was well and truly worked up.

There was nothing worse in my mind than being late.

When people depended on you to show up at a certain time, you were there.

And as my grandfather always said, if you were ten minutes early, you were on time.

If you were on time, you were late. And if you were late, you might as well not show up at all.

“You need to calm down,” Liam grumbled from the other side of the truck.

I very slowly turned to face him, every inch of me filling with rage. “Did you just tell me to calm down?”

“Well, yeah. You’re getting upset over nothing. You’ve never been late in your life.”

“Exactly!” I snapped. “I’ve never been late.”

“Which I’m sure he’ll forgive.”

“Except now I can never say I’ve never been late. Because now I have been. If I’m ever late for an actual good reason, I’ll have no excuse because I was late this time!”

“Not a good reason, huh?” he asked, his gaze slowly meeting mine. “Felt like a pretty damn good reason to me.”

“Exactly. Good to you. I doubt Wyatt will see it as a good reason when I tell him I was late because I was too busy having sex!”

“Normally, I would tell you not to say that part, but I have no issue with him knowing any details you want to give him about what we did last night.”

I smacked him, trying not to laugh despite how angry I was. Taking a deep breath, I told myself it would be fine. Here I was, being all neurotic about being late, probably ruining everything with Liam by being so dramatic.

Not that I was really being dramatic. It really was practically a sin to be late, and I stood by that.

But a small part of me was willing to acknowledge that I hadn’t exactly started the morning off right.

“Go get showered and dressed. I’ll make you something to eat,” Liam said, putting the truck in park outside my building.

“I don’t have time—”

His finger was pressed against my lips before I could finish that sentence. “You’re already late. Trust me, it’ll be worse if you smell like me when you walk into work.”

Nodding slightly, I leaned forward and pressed my lips to his. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.”

I was about to get out when I remembered I was almost out of gas. “Shoot!”

“What?”

“I didn’t have time to get gas yesterday, and I could probably make it to work, but—”

“Keys,” he said, holding out his hand.

Digging them out of my purse, I dropped them in his hand, then sealed my lips over his. “Thank you so much.”

“You can find a way to pay me back later,” he grumbled, sending an instant shot of lust to my core.

But there was no time for that. Jumping out, I ran to my building and let myself in, telling myself not to look back.

Then the door swung shut, and without thinking, I glanced over my shoulder at the sexy man headed to my car.
