Chapter 15 Liam #2
“I can if I injure you even more than you already are. And you know that’s possible. I could snap you like a twig right now.”
Chuckling, I pulled her closer, pressing my lips to hers. “You think so, huh?”
“I know so. All it would take is a little…creative manipulation on my part.”
I didn’t completely understand what she meant until I felt her hand snaking down my body, sliding over my cock that instantly jumped to life.
“Bailey, don’t mess with me right now.”
“What’s wrong, Mr. Parker? Don’t think you can handle what I have in store for you?”
I sucked in a ragged breath when she undid the button on my jeans and slid her hand inside. Fuck, how the hell was I supposed to keep a clear head when she was touching me like that?
“Bailey—”
“If you won’t rest, Mr. Parker, I’ll be forced to do whatever’s necessary to ensure you do.”
Her head lowered, covering my cock, and then everything around me faded away.
I stumbled out of the bedroom sometime in the dead of night. The sheets were cold beside me, which instantly sent me into a blind panic until I saw the lights on in the living room.
Wiping the crusties from my eyes, I spotted Bailey in the kitchen, humming as she bounced from toe to toe in nothing but one of my shirts.
“What are you doing?”
The sound of my voice startled her, and whatever was in her hand went flying across the kitchen in a splatter.
“Jesus, Liam! Warn a girl next time!”
Snatching a towel from the counter, she bent down and started wiping the cabinets, muttering under her breath.
“What are you doing out of bed?” she finally asked as I strode closer.
“I woke up. And you weren’t there.”
Hiding her smile, she stood and tossed the towel in the sink. “Well, I thought I would make some muffins.”
I glanced at the clock on the wall and frowned. “At two in the morning?”
“I couldn’t sleep.”
“Why not?”
“Because I kept thinking about rolling over onto you and hurting you. I tend to be a wild sleeper.”
Grinning, I vaguely remembered waking up in the middle of the night on our first night together. She was draped across me and her ass was in the air. “Yeah, I gathered that.”
“Are you laughing at me?” she asked, her eyes narrowing in fake anger.
“Hey, I didn’t say a word.”
“You didn’t have to.”
Striding over to her, I took the spatula from her hand and tossed it on the counter. “Come back to bed. I don’t care if you lay on me.”
“You’re injured,” she reminded me, poking my bad arm slightly. “If I lay on you, I’ll only slow your recovery.”
“And if you keep doing the things you did last night, you’ll only heal me faster.”
“Ha ha,” she laughed mockingly. “If you start telling me I’m healing you with love, I’ll smack you.”
“You wouldn’t beat up an injured man.” I snatched her around the waist and pulled her against me.
“If this is your way of getting more sex, you should know it’s not going to happen.”
“I wore you out,” I nodded jokingly.
“Sure. We’ll go with that over the fact that it’s time for you to take your pills.”
Her hand snaked out from behind her back, and she rattled the little orange container in my face.
Groaning, I stepped away from her. “I don’t want any.”
“It’s the first night home, and you need your sleep.”
“But you put me to sleep so well on your own.”
“Liam, I’m not going anywhere near that bedroom unless you take your pills. Now, be a good little boy and do as you’re told.”
As she batted her eyelashes at me, I was stuck between wanting to throttle her for calling me a little boy and needing to rip her shirt off her body and prove to her how much of a man I was.
“If I’m a good boy, will you come to bed with me?”
“Hmm,” she pretended to think about it.
I snatched the pill bottle out of her hand and slammed my mouth down on hers, but just as I was starting to get her warmed up, a loud knock sounded at the door.
“What?” I groaned as she tore herself away from me with a laugh.
“I’ll get it.”
But just as she was getting to the door, I imagined who might be on the other side at two o’clock in the morning. “Stop!” I shouted, racing toward the door in a panic.
My heart stopped dead as she swung the door open, giving me a funny look as my sister stumbled into the house, clearly drunk off her ass.
“Bailsley!” she cried out, her arms immediately going around Bailey’s neck.
She just barely caught Krista as she tripped over her feet and nearly went down.
“Whoa!” Bailey sniffed, grimacing as the alcohol wafted off her. “What the hell did you drink?”
“Noooothin’!” Krista laughed. Then she held her finger to her lips and winked at her. “Don’t tell Liam. He’s always crabby when I show up drunk.”
“That’s because you’re old enough not to be doing it anymore,” I sighed, walking over to help Bailey.
“Hey, big brother!” Krista shouted as I dug my arm under hers. “Ooh, should you be doing that?”
“Well, since you showed up here, it doesn’t look like I have a choice.”
With all the energy I could muster, I dragged her over to the couch and plopped her down.
A burst of laughter bubbled from her lips as she tossed her hand over her face. “You know what’s really funny, Bailsley?”
“Do tell me,” Bailey grinned, walking toward the kitchen.
My sister did a half-assed attempt at sitting upright before flopping back down. “He was pretty damn hot once upon a time. You know, before he turned into a psychopath and started scaring all the women in town.”
“Who’s this?” I asked, completely confused.
“Austin. Him and me were like this once upon a time,” she murmured, her fingers haphazardly crossed in front of her. “I mean, before he started getting all weird.” She spun suddenly to face Bailey. “Hey, did you know Lizzy used to have a thing for Clay?”
“Nope, I didn’t know that.”
She walked back over with a glass of water and a wet rag, plopping it on Krista’s forehead.
Krista grunted. “Not that anything would ever happen between them now. Or anyone else in the family. Old man Callahan would never allow any of us near his precious sons.” She hiccuped, resting her head on the couch. “You saw the way he acted toward us today.”
I froze the moment the words left Krista’s lips, and judging by the way Bailey’s eyes widened in panic, she knew she was caught.
She was supposed to be with my mom today. There was absolutely no reason to go anywhere, yet she did, and she didn’t even bother to tell me.
Very slowly, I got to my feet and narrowed my eyes at Bailey.
“What the hell is she talking about?”
