Chapter 13

dreaux davis

. . .

“Damn, I swear they are watering down these drinks more and more. I’m about to start bringing my own bottles in here,” Messiah complained.

“They tryna make their money stretch. I don’t play that shit, so I pregame before I come.” Loyal replied.

We were at a local sports bar we liked to frequent, called MVP Bar and Grill. It was a chill spot where we could watch games and highlights, and the food was pretty good.

“Naw, you ain’t lying. Then these mothafuckas want to charge you double the price for that watered-down shit. I’m not going for it.” Messiah griped. I rarely drank, so it never mattered to me one way or the other.

“Hey, Dreaux. I’ve been calling you for weeks, and you haven’t returned any of my calls.” I turned around to see a chick by the name of Amber standing on the other side of the table with her hands on her hips.

“Well, if I haven’t returned your calls, it’s probably because I didn’t want to talk,” I replied with a shrug. Honestly, my schedule had been hectic lately, and I only had time for the things that mattered to me.

“Why do you always have to be so rude. I wanted to see when we could have another night together, but you’re always so busy.”

“I know how to work my phone just fine. If I decide I want to link up with you, I’ll let you know. Until then, you don’t need to blow up my line. I promise it won’t make me want to answer any faster.”

“You’re a real dickhead,” Amber scoffed as she walked away.

I never understood why it took women so long to realize when someone didn’t want to be bothered.

Maybe I had too much pride, but I would never call anyone back to back if they weren’t answering.

I had never been that pressed behind a woman to chase her. That shit was lame to me.

“Dreaux strikes again. I swear I don’t know why bitches fuck with you. You don’t give a fuck what comes out of your mouth.” Loyal chuckled as he ate his wings.

“Her pussy was trash. I’ve been fucking since I was twelve, and I’ve never met a bitch with walls as loose as hers.

My dick is too big for me to be falling through double-wide trailer pussy.

Now, if I had said that to her face, I would have been wrong.

” I reasoned. People called me mean because the truth was a hard pill to swallow.

“Damn, that’s crazy as hell. One of these days, you’re gonna meet your match,” Messiah teased.

“He already has,” Justice commented. I knew who he was referring to because I had been confiding in him about my feelings for a while.

“Oh, you must be talking about our cousin.” Loyal chimed in.

“I don’t want to talk about her tonight.”

Peace and I were on better terms, but she was still keeping me at arm’s length. If it wasn’t about the apartment, work, or Promise, our conversations were minimal. I hadn’t pressed the issue because I needed to focus on my own shit, but I would be lying if I said it didn’t bother me.

“Naw, you’re finally the one having woman problems. We’ve got to talk about this.”

“I don’t have woman problems at all. Nothing is going on between us, and it’s best to keep it that way. Peace has a lot of shit going on, and she needs to focus on herself and her baby girl. Besides, I’m not interested in a relationship, and she seems like the type to want a commitment.”

“Sounds like bullshit to me. I see the way you look at her when the two of you are in the same room. It’s clear you have feelings for her, which is major because you don’t like anybody,” Loyal expressed.

“Is it because she has baggage or because she used to be with Chop?”

My face frowned at the mention of his bitch ass. Chop was the last thing on my mind when it came to Peace. Although I wasn’t sure she would feel the same way.

“Hell no. Chop is and always will be a bitch ass nigga in my eyes. I don’t care about her past with him at all.”

“Then what’s the issue?” Justice questioned.

“Love ain’t for me. I keep telling y’all that. Peace has been through enough bullshit with niggas, and I’m not about to add to it. I’m cool with us being friends because it’s for the best.”

“Then why were you trying to cockblock when you thought she had a nigga coming over there?” Justice pressed.

“I pay all the bills in that mothafucka, and I wasn’t cool with another nigga setting his balls on the furniture I paid for. Besides, she doesn’t need to be worried about a man right now. All I’m tryna do is look out for her. That’s all.” They all looked at me skeptically, but I meant what I said.

“Yeah, alright. We’ll revisit this conversation in a couple of months when she’s dating someone else, and you’re sliding down the wall.” Loyal joked.

“Hey, daddy. I haven’t seen you here in a while.” Daisy purred in my ear. My dick jumped in response to her voice. I hadn’t busted a good nut in weeks because of my schedule, and I needed someone to relieve this tension I was carrying.

“What’s up, ma?” Daisy was a pretty, brown-skinned cutie with curves for days. She might have paid a pretty penny for it, but it was money well spent because her ass moved like water when I hit from behind.

“I’m about to clock out in a few minutes. What’s on your agenda for the night?”

“I don’t have any plans. You tryna slide by the condo tonight?”

“Of course. I’ve got to run home, shower, and change clothes. I can be there in the next thirty minutes.”

“Sounds like a plan. I’ll see you then.” Once the plans were established, she walked away.

“Damn, bro. You tryna dip out on us like that?” Messiah asked.

“Hell yeah. I haven’t gotten my dick wet in weeks.

Plus, I already know y’all curfews are coming up, and you’ll be running home to your wives.

I’ll catch y’all lazy asses at the gym on Monday.

” I got up and tossed a hundred dollars on the table.

My condo wasn’t too far from here, but I needed to run to the store to grab some condoms. I planned to wear Daisy’s ass out because I had a lot of pent-up aggression from dealing with Peace’s stubborn ass.

“His ass ain’t slick. He’s gonna imagine it’s Peace while he fucking that girl tonight.” Loyal wasn’t wrong, but I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of knowing he was right.

“Fuck all of y’all. I’m out of here.”

“Yeah, that’s okay. I’m about to introduce my new sister to some of my teammates. Since you claim you don’t want her.”

I gave Messiah a deadly look but decided to keep my true thoughts to myself. At the end of the day, I wanted what was best for Peace, and it wasn’t me.

“Fuck. Yeah, suck my dick just like that.”

Daisy sat on her knees in front of me as she swallowed my dick down her throat. While she wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, she got better each time. I could see that she had something to prove because this was the first time we fucked around one-on-one.

The sound of her slurring and gagging filled the room, and I could feel my nut rising. I knew the first one would come quickly, but I wasn’t tripping because I had all night.

“Shit. I’m about to nut.” As soon as the words left my mouth, my balls began to tingle. My phone rang at the same time, but I decided to ignore it. My body tensed up as I came down her pretty throat. I closed my eyes to relish in the moment, but my phone continued to ring nonstop.

I assumed it was an emergency, so I went ahead and grabbed it.

My heart sank when I saw Peace’s number because she rarely called me.

My initial thought was that something must have been wrong with Promise, so I called her right back.

I held my finger to my lip to let Daisy know not to say anything.

She nodded her head in understanding, but instead of stopping, she stroked my dick in her hand.

“Hello.”

“Hey. I’m sorry to blow your phone up, but Promise has been screaming for hours.” I sat up at the mention of Promise because I wanted to know what was going on with my pretty girl.

“Is she okay?”

Daisy swallowed my balls into her mouth and began to lightly suck on them. I tried not to react, but my body betrayed me. My dick leaked with cum as she alternated between stroking my shaft and sucking my balls. I tried to pull back so I could focus, but she smacked my hand out of the way.

“Did you hear what I said?”

The irritation in Peace’s tone let me know she was frustrated, and I felt bad.

“My bad. What did you say?”

“You know what? Don’t worry about it. It’s obvious you’re busy, so I’m gonna let you go.”

“No. No. Give me a minute.” This time, I stood up and moved Daisy out of my way. Anger and hurt covered her face, but it wasn’t my problem. I needed to know what was going on with Promise, so my nut would have to wait.

“Alright, I’m good. Tell me what’s going on.”

“Promise isn’t feeling well, and she doesn’t want anyone except you. She has been crying on and off for the last few hours, and I don’t know what to do.”

“Do you think she needs to go to the emergency room? Does she have a fever?” I asked while pacing the room.

“Her fever was 99.7 the last time I checked. I gave her some medicine and a lukewarm bath. I was gonna wait to see how the night went, because I don’t want to sit in the emergency room all night to have them tell me she has a cold.”

“Yeah, but you don’t want to take any chances, though. I’m about to get dressed and pick y’all up. It’s better to be safe than sorry.”

“Are you sure? I don’t want to interrupt your plans or anything. I can take her myself.”

My jaw flexed as I tried to find the right words. Then I thought about it and decided not to spare her feelings.

“Don’t start that dumb shit. I already said I was coming, so you don’t need to worry about what I have going on.” I grumbled.

“How am I being dumb for trying to be considerate of your time. Promise isn’t your responsibility.”

I chuckled angrily, knowing she was about to piss me off.

“This is exactly what I’m talking about. You’re saying she isn’t my responsibility, yet you called me back-to-back. Make the shit make sense.”
