Chapter 7

When Rhys got home after closing down Frost + Foam, he reheated pasta from the night before and sat down to watch Parks and Rec, one of his comfort shows.

But he couldn’t get into it because the book Jonah had chosen for him was calling from his backpack.

It wasn’t at all what he would normally read, but he couldn’t help being curious about it.

What made Jonah so sure he would like it?

Rhys didn’t like sappy nonsense. Every year, he did his best to avoid watching those ridiculously cheesy Christmas movies Jonah and Tessa were obsessed with.

He turned off the TV, pulled out the book, and lay down on the couch to read, hoping he wouldn’t fall asleep there.

His mouth dropped open when, not twenty pages in, the main characters were ripping each other’s clothes off, and then… oh my God… he wasn’t even sure bodies could contort that way.

This was not at all what he was expecting, and it wasn’t just the sex, though he might need to turn the fan on if he was going to keep reading. The characters felt so real, and he needed them to figure out how to be together.

When Rhys was halfway through the book, he paused to look at the time.

It was later than he’d thought. He should get ready for bed, but he didn’t want to stop reading.

The characters in the book were perfect for each other, even though they were so different, and the way they each understood exactly what the other needed without having to be told had melted Rhys’s heart.

The men tried to fight sleeping together again after their initial hookup, but they couldn’t stop thinking about each other.

When they got trapped at a cabin during a blizzard, they wanted each other desperately.

When they finally gave in, the scene was explosive.

Rhys knew he wasn’t only going to finish the book; he wanted to read more in the series.

It would be embarrassing as hell to tell Jonah how much he loved it, but he could handle that.

What he wasn’t sure he could handle was the way he kept imagining the cowboy character as Caleb.

It had to just be the description of thick hair and a perfect beard and the way his smile made the other guy feel warm all over.

It couldn’t be because Rhys never stopped thinking about him.

Or because part of him wanted to go back to Cloud Nine tomorrow and tell Caleb he did want to work together, even though he knew better.

The less time he spent around Caleb, the less chance Caleb would find out why he made Rhys so nervous.

He forced himself to put the book down long enough to get ready for bed, but once he was under the covers, he opened it right back up and raced to the end. When the characters finally confessed their love to each other, he had to wipe tears from his eyes.

He almost cried again when he saw the time and realized how little sleep he was going to get. But as tired as he was, he couldn’t fall asleep. He lay there in the dark, unable to stop thinking about the book and replaying every erotic scene with him and Caleb as the characters.

Eventually, he kicked off the covers. He was hot and sweaty, and his cock was painfully hard. No way in hell was he going to be able to sleep like that.

Giving in to what he needed, he slid a hand down his stomach and wrapped it around his cock.

As he dragged it slowly along his shaft, he tried not to think about Caleb.

He tried to imagine the cowboy in the book, as if he looked nothing like him.

Then he tried picturing the last man he’d been with.

The guy had been hot and one of the best hookups Rhys had ever had, but that didn’t matter tonight. Caleb was all he wanted.

He imagined Caleb kneeling between his legs, watching him, eyes wide, pupils huge as he encouraged Rhys to keep going, to move his hand faster, to show him what he liked.

Damn, it felt good. He gave in to his urges and let the fantasy roll.

“You like him.” My sister’s words echoed in my head.

He did. He might not have been willing to admit that to Kate, or to anyone else, but there was something so fucking charming about Rhys.

His awkwardness, his reluctance to meet Caleb’s eyes, the way he took quick, appraising glances when he thought Caleb wouldn’t notice.

Everything about him made Caleb curious to learn more.

He wanted time alone with him, and he wanted to do a lot more than talk.

Caleb finished brushing his teeth and flopped onto his bed.

It was late, and he had to be at the shop well before dawn, but he didn’t feel sleepy.

He’d been on somewhat of an adrenaline rush since he’d opened the shop, and the more he thought about Rhys, the wider awake his body felt, especially his cock.

He let his thoughts run like a movie in his head, and without consciously intending to, he started stroking himself.

If he got himself off, he might finally be able to relax.

He wanted that release, but he couldn’t stop imagining Rhys’s hand stroking him.

It felt wrong, but he went with what his dick wanted.

What would Rhys look like lying over him?

Focused? Wide-eyed? Unsure? Or would he surprise Caleb and grip him firmly, sure of himself and how much he wanted Caleb. That would be so fucking hot.

Caleb closed his eyes and thought about Rhys lying on top of him, working both their cocks together as he thrust his hips against Caleb’s. It wasn’t going to take any time to get off with that image in his head. It was like he could really feel Rhys’s hard body pressed against his.

Rhys shifted position, moving up his body to straddle his shoulders.

He took hold of Rhys’s cock and brought it to his mouth.

The sound he made as Caleb sucked him deep vibrated through Caleb.

He was fucking perfect. He jerked himself off while he enjoyed the feel of Rhys’s cock in his mouth.

He tried all his best techniques to get Rhys to make more sounds for him, whimpers, groans, muttered words begging for more.

His surrender was exactly what Caleb needed.

He groaned as his fantasy version of Caleb pushed his hand away and took Rhys’s cock in his mouth.

The heat of his throat closing around Rhys’s cock was so good.

His hand moved faster as he gripped himself hard enough to hurt.

In his fantasy, Caleb used his tongue, his lips, and even his teeth to drive Rhys crazy, and he was willing to beg for more.

He couldn’t stop himself from thrusting up into Caleb’s mouth. He needed him. Needed more.

The room around him no longer existed. His whole world was focused in on the pleasure racing through him as he imagined Caleb’s mouth on his.

He was better than anyone Rhys’d had before.

His technique was perfect, and he could swallow Rhys all the way down.

His whole body tensed as he got closer and closer.

He couldn’t hold his climax back much longer, but he didn’t want this to end.

Rhys has lost all inhibitions. He thrust into Caleb’s mouth, and Caleb let him as he jerked himself off faster and faster.

He was so close, so desperate to come. He needed just a little more.

With his free hand, he gripped Rhys’s ass, loving the feel of his bare skin, squeezing until his fingers dug in and Rhys groaned.

Caleb slapped his ass. His gasp made Caleb smile around him.

Rhys looked down at him, eyes dark with need.

Seeing how far gone Rhys was pushed Caleb to the edge.

A few more strokes, and he was coming. Rhys pulled back as Caleb’s climax rushed through him, letting him fully enjoy it.

For just a moment, intrusive thoughts burst into Rhys’s mind, telling him his fantasy was wrong, that Caleb wasn’t ever going to be his, but he shoved them away and returned to the fantasy where Caleb’s mouth was the most perfect thing in the world and he was doing everything possible to get Rhys off.

What would it feel like to thrust into Caleb’s mouth with his hands in his hair, holding Caleb against him as he worked Rhys over?

What would Caleb look like, wrecked from giving him everything?

What would it feel like to return the favor and suck him dry?

Rhys wanted all those answers. The thought of Caleb sex drunk and messy was all he could take. He gasped as his orgasm hit, and his body shook as pulse after pulse of pleasure poured over him.

When he was finally done, Rhys sank into the mattress, trying to catch his breath. He laid an arm over his eyes as if he were trying to hide from the world. Jerking off was never that good. He felt like he could sleep for a week, but he only had a few hours, and then…

Holy shit. What if he had to see Caleb later.

No way could he face him, not after that.

He was in so much trouble, but he was too relaxed to care.

He fell asleep without even cleaning up, which meant he was even more gone over Caleb than he’d thought.

He would probably panic about that after he woke up.
