Veronica

Every day ends the same way. Hawk coming over and us not even making it to dinner before we end up naked.

On Saturday morning, I open my eyes, and my cheek is plastered to his shoulder blade and sticky with our sweat.

I still have absolutely no idea what we’re doing. We’ve been virtually inseparable since Hawk took care of the parent who threatened me. He sleeps over almost every night, and all I can say is that I have never slept so soundly.

The sex is incredible, and we have lots of it. But more than that, we fit together. We shouldn’t. God knows nothing about this makes sense. He’s a biker. I’m a teacher, a principal—a nerd, frankly. Yet we’re somehow curved together under my sheets like we were meant to fit this way.

I don’t trust things like love at first sight. It’s never been something I can relate to. But with Hawk, I feel like I was never whole until I found him. He eases something deep inside me. Holds parts of me that I didn’t know needed support. It’s like he’s my person.

As I lie beside him in the dark of my room, he stirs slightly, grumbling under his breath and tightening his hold on my hand.

I wonder if this feeling will ever get old.

I also wonder if someday I’ll find out he’s done something that I can’t overlook.

Something that could tear him away from me and send him to prison—or worse.

“You okay?” he murmurs in a sleep-soaked voice.

I nod my cheek against his back. “Fine. Just thinking.”

“Yeah, I could tell.” He flops onto his back and pulls my naked body close. I tuck under one of his arms and rest my cheek against his chest. “You got plans tonight?”

I shake my head, not that I can move it much while I’m lying on top of him. “The usual.” I run my nails along his chest.

“How do you feel about a birthday party? Wanna go with me?” His eyes are still closed, but mine fly wide at his question.

“Whose birthday? Where is it?”

He chuckles, and the rumble in his chest relaxes me. “It’s Tank’s birthday, one of the prospects. He’s one of the kids we sent to look over your dad’s place. It’s at the compound at seven. We’ll have food, drinks. We set Tank up, so no need for a gift or anything. I’ve got it covered.”

A birthday party at the motorcycle compound? I’m curious as hell to see what it’s like, but I’m also freaking terrified. What if I don’t fit in there? Will it make Hawk regret bringing me? Will it make him want to stop seeing me?

“I probably shouldn’t,” I say, not sure how to express all my worries.

“Why not?” he asks. “Should is a bullshit answer. If you don’t want to mix with the Heat, just say it.”

His directness sets my heart racing. This is not a conversation I want to have naked and under the sheets.

I sit up and pull the sheet to one side of the bed to cover my breasts.

“Hawk,” I say gently, “it’s not that at all.

I just…” I swallow hard. I guess there’s no way around this.

Only through. “I am surprised, that’s all.

I don’t know what this thing is that we’re doing.

And I’m not looking for a label. I’m just surprised you’d want to bring me into your world. ”

He’s still lying on his back, but he rolls onto his side. “I took you to my uncle’s bar for our first date,” he reminds me. “I’ve been to your school, in your office. I’d say we’ve been pretty deep inside each other’s worlds any way you look at it.”

“You want me with you?” I don’t mean it to sound needy. I really want to know.

“I want you with me in every way,” he says, leaving little room for doubt.

“I’m not a big partier,” I tell him. “You saw what happened after I had a couple beers at your uncle’s bar.”

“Maybe this is my way of getting you to let loose and drink a little more,” he chuckles. “Not that we’ve needed booze to have a repeat of that weekend.”

We meet each other’s eyes as the sun brightens my room. I smile at him, thinking about the many and varied ways we’ve made love to each other over the last couple weeks. His smile makes me think he’s thinking the same thing.

“Come with me,” he says, trailing a finger over the sheet that covers my breasts. “If you’re not having fun, we’ll get the hell out of there and come right back here. I’ll make it up to you any way you want.”

I close my eyes and lay my head back against the headboard. “I might need to think about it for a few minutes. Keep up the touching.”

His laugh is deep and immediate. “I see how things are,” he says. He cups my whole breast in one hand and massages it, kneading the fullness while pinching just the tip between his thumb and forefinger. “There’ll be food,” he says, “and my room will be right there if we need to get away.”

The pressure on my nipple tightens, and an electric bolt of pleasure rockets from my chest to my core. I shudder out a question. “What else? Keep going with this.”

“With this?” he asks. My eyes are slammed closed so I don’t see him move, but I feel him slide the sheet away to free my breasts. He twirls his tongue over the tip of my nipple while still palming my breast. “Is this what you want?”

I answer with a moan, arching my back so my nipple slides even deeper into his mouth. “Suck me,” I beg, my body already supple and ready with arousal.

He obliges, drawing my nipple deep into his mouth and nipping down on the tip lightly with his teeth.

“Are,” he says, his mouth the tiniest fraction away from my skin.

“You.” He licks the tip hard, wetting it with his saliva.

“Gonna.” Then he pinches me with his fingers, the slick from his mouth making the friction of his fingertips on my hard peak impossibly perfect, impossibly erotic.

Tiny rockets of pain and bliss fire from his fingertips through my core. “Go?”

I cry out and grab his face, pushing him closer to my breast. “I think you mean come…” I pant.

“My filthy girl,” he purrs, no more word games now.

He moves down to my ankles and tugs me so I’m lying flat on my back. He kisses his way up my calves and thighs, leaving hot, wet trails on my flesh. My toes curl, and my breath slows as I savor every touch of his hands and every soft scrape from the bristles of his beard.

When he reaches my pussy, he straddles me and nudges the head of his cock against me.

“Come to the party with me, V,” he says, teasing me with the promise of filling me, of entering me, of satisfying my bottomless hunger for him.

He holds his shaft in his hands and rubs his dick along my wetness but doesn’t slide inside.

I tremble, my voice shaking in my throat. “I need more convincing,” I say, grinning through my agony. He knows I’m his. He knows I’ll go anywhere he asks. But two can play this game.

“Huh,” he tuts. He slips just the tip of his erection inside, and then he withdraws.

I groan, my fingers tearing at the sheets. “Hawk,” I hiss.

“Come to the party, V.”

In a little, then out.

In again, then out.

He tortures me, slaps my clit with his shaft, nudges me until I’m practically coming from the anticipation alone.

“Hawk,” I moan. “Please.” I move my fingers between my legs, and he grabs my hands.

“Nuh-uh,” he says, holding my hand in place. “That’s mine. Your pussy, mine. Your pleasure, mine. Your climax, mine. Your presence at the party, mine. Now, do you want to come, baby?”

In a little, then out.

In again, then out.

In, out, but never deep enough to fill me.

“Yes,” I screech, but I try to keep the volume to something that my neighbors won’t hear through the walls. “Fuck yes, I’m yours.”

I mean to say I’ll go, but that’s not what comes out. I open my eyes and look at him, and I know by the smoke in his eyes, the wild and dangerous look on his face, that he heard me. But instead of stopping, instead of pulling away, he grabs my ankles and holds my legs over his shoulders.

“Good girl,” he says. “Say that again. I want to hear you say it while I fuck you.”

“I’m yours,” I cry as his cock slams in so fast, so deep, all I see are stars.

He thrusts into me, not pulling out now, just jamming himself inside me with such intensity, I don’t know who starts to come apart first, him or me. He tightens his fingers around my ankles, and he curses, low and loud, quiet then furious. “Fuck, baby. Fuck.”

With my legs in the air, I can’t resist, can’t fight the orgasm that slams through my body. He pumps me full, pounding and sweating, curses and praise on his lips.

When he finishes, he collapses on top of me, his hair drenched with sweat. He plants a kiss on my lips and stares me right in the face. I stroke his beard, running my fingers along the stubble covering his throat.

Neither one of us is a kid anymore. This isn’t our first rodeo. I may never have had a serious love or even a long-term relationship, but it doesn’t matter. I know what I feel. I trust my heart and my instincts—not to mention my body.

I am, completely and totally, his.

We kiss lightly on the lips. No words. Then he lies on his side, tucks his body behind mine, and holds me so close I can feel the pounding of his heart against my back.

Maybe, just maybe, he’s mine too.

Hours later, when I finally come out of the bathroom, I’m wearing an outfit my sister gifted me specifically for an occasion like this. “Will this work?” I ask him.

Hawk looks over his shoulder at me and drops his phone. “Sweet Jesus,” he grumbles. He leaves his phone on the carpet and comes to stand in front of me. “V, holy fuck.”

He touches the curled ends of my hair with a look of wonder on his face. “You look fucking incredible. Out of this world. I don’t have words.”

“I’m ready to go.”

He pulls me close to him and nuzzles my neck with his nose. “We’re not going.”

He kisses my neck, and I giggle as his beard tickles my skin.

“Hawk, it’s a birthday party. I thought you wanted to—”

“Changed my mind,” he grunts, searing a line of hot kisses from my neck to my one exposed shoulder. “You’re too fucking hot to share with anyone. One look at you and the guys will know why I haven’t been around much.”

“Be right back. Almost forgot something.”

I head into my bedroom and grab a small backpack with a toothbrush and a change of clothes, just in case.

Hawk puts a helmet on me, hopefully not ruining my hair.

I don’t have time to adjust it before he climbs on and takes off like a bat out of hell.

I hold him tightly, leaving no room between our bodies as he drives.

The feeling of the wind against my face and the bike underneath me is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before.

It’s freeing in a way I never thought possible.

“You ready for this?” he asks as soon as we pull into the compound and he cuts the engine.

This is the compound of the Hurricane Heat Motorcycle Club.

The big question is, knowing everything I know and being the person I am… Am I ready?
