Chapter 28

Plotting I need to get her alone—”

“She is having a girl’s night in a few days with them bitches she works with,” Jada said, cutting me off.

“Oh,” I said playfully. “So you have been watching them too?”

“No, nigga, I am not watching, but I am keeping tabs on the bitch my son is living with and her bougee ass friends. Like I said, they are having a girl’s night.

They been talking about it only, well, two of them have.

Islah has not. I can send you the club that they will be going to later in the night, they were talking to somebody about a section. ”

“Yeah, send that shit to me so I can get to work.”

“Mmhhmm… and what do I get?” Jada asked.

I paused for a minute. “If I get her, I will have you meet me for some cash, and you get your nigga back.”

The line went silent for a second, then I heard her laughing.

“I told that nigga it wasn’t over,” she said low. I cleared my throat, not knowing what she was talking about, and then she continued. “Iight Mr. Gio, give me a few minutes, I got you.” I smiled. “Take your time, baby girl. I’ll be waiting.”

She hung up on me, and I walked closer to my niggas.

“Listen,” I said, getting them to stop talking about the same shit. “All that shit y’all are talking about, dead it. It’s not happening.”

Carlos exhaled hard. “And what is gonna happen, Gio?”

“I am getting Islah. She will take care of us, and then all together. We will go back to Cali.”

They nigga tried to hold back their laugh, but couldn’t, and that shit pissed me off.

“Why the fuck you think it will be so easy to get this girl? Her nigga obviously don’t play,” Frog added.

“Because we gonna get her alone, I got the drop on where she gonna be in a few days without him, we move then.”

Carlos, Kev, Frog, and Joe all looked at each other, then back at me.

“I don’t know about this Gio, this shit a lil’ too far for me,” Kev expressed.

“Real shit, you talkin about taking somebody that don’t want you, you think that nigga is gonna let that happen?” Joe chimed in.

“I don’t need anybody to let me do shit,” I said as my phone dinged. I looked down and saw a message from Jada on Messenger and continued talked to them nigga. “Fuck all the shit y’all talking about, I am taking back what the fuck is mine, and that is her!”

Them niggas didn’t say shit, they either put their heads down or looked around the room.

“Okay, fine then, I don’t need y’all niggas to do shit, I will take her. Just stay in the fuckin car.”

I went back to sit down, and Carlos laughed.

“Nigga, what fuckin car! You’re in this city out bad and too hung up on this girl to realize it, but nigga you look like you finna die.”

I laughed. “That’s okay, Carlos, I’ll get a fuckin car even if I have to steal it. Get her back here. She will fix us up, then I'm takin her ass back to Cali.”
