41. Chelsi
CHAPTER FORTY-ONE
chelsi
The next few weeks are a blissful haze of working my ass off at my dream job and spending every spare moment with Alex.
Although I’m not exactly sure how it happened, we’ve settled into a domesticated routine, where I come home to his apartment every evening as long as he’s not on tour.
He insists on cooking dinner for us every night, teaching me to help with simple tasks in the kitchen, followed by hours of the most amazing sex.
If I could describe the perfect life, it’s this one. Right here, right now. With him.
“Earth to Chelsi. Are you paying attention to this conversation at all?” Kate asks, sitting across from me on the couch in Jake’s tour bus.
“Someone is in another world. Perhaps dreaming of a certain headset-wearing drill sergeant who surprisingly has a softer side,” Anna adds, arching her eyebrows and smiling.
“Please tell me he likes to give orders in the bedroom. I’m going through the longest drought of my life and need to live vicariously through someone. ”
Kate’s mouth drops open. “Why not me? I have great sex multiple times a day. In fact, earlier this afternoon, Jake and I were fucking on this very—”
“Don’t finish that sentence, Kate. None of us wants to know where you and your husband get it on. If we did, we’d likely never set foot on this bus or in your house again,” I tease with a smirk. “For the record, I was thinking about Alex, and he does have a commanding presence in the bedroom.”
“I knew it!” Anna pumps her fist in the air. “Want to share any details? Inquiring minds are eager to know what’s going on with the two of you.”
I blush, turning to glance out the window, hoping to catch a glimpse of my man as he hurries around the amphitheater.
It’s my first time going out on tour with him since we started dating.
Jake has back-to-back concerts in the same location, making it easier for Alex and me to spend time together and rent a hotel room for the night.
While some of the guys are fine bringing women on the band bus, Alex was pretty adamant that no one was allowed to hear my moans, especially not Jimmy.
“She’s in love with him.” My head whips around to look at Kate. “It’s super obvious to everyone, but she hasn’t told him yet. I’m also one hundred percent convinced he feels the same way and is waiting to tell her.” Kate crosses her arms, staring at me.
“I don’t think…”
“Uh-huh. Keep lying to yourself, Chelsi. That man worships the ground you walk on. He has practically moved you into his apartment, and it’s only been what…a couple of months since the two of you started dating?”
“Definitely sounds like love to me.” Anna takes a long drink of her margarita.
She’s declared herself off duty for the rest of the afternoon and evening, choosing to indulge in a bevy of alcoholic beverages with us and see where the night takes her.
Given the shitty week she’s had with another client, I don’t blame her.
I sigh and pull my knees to my chest. “My feelings for Alex are extremely strong. I’ve completely fallen for him, but I don’t know if I’m ready to say those words yet. Or whether he feels the same way.”
Kate shakes her head. “You’re scared.”
She’s not wrong. I’m terrified.
I’ve never said those three little words in a relationship, and no one has said them to me.
How can I be sure what I’m feeling for Alex is love when I’ve never experienced it?
What if I open up my heart to him even more and watch it get shattered if he doesn’t feel the same?
What if I’ve made our relationship out to be bigger than it really is in my head?
“I don’t want to mess up what we have,” I admit, picking up my margarita and taking a drink.
“You won’t. What you and Alex are building is special.
You have to trust your heart. Don’t let your mind convince you otherwise.
Not with this man.” Kate tucks a piece of her hair behind her ear.
“Be brave enough to go all in with him. Or at least figure out a way to let him know you’re ready to hear those words.
I firmly believe he’s only waiting to say them because he’s afraid that you’ll run. ”
“I’m not a runner.”
Anna chuckles. “Sure. And I’m not going to get drunk tonight and pass out on Kate’s couch.” She takes another large gulp of her drink, almost finishing it off.
Kate points at Anna. “Don’t think you’re getting out of talking about whatever the hell is going on with you. I’ll sign an NDA if I have to. I know you pretty much have one ready on your phone at all times.”
Anna nods in agreement and finishes off her drink. She gets up and walks over to the kitchen area to refill her glass before rejoining us on the couch.
“Before we get into whatever hot mess express Anna’s life is, I need Chelsi to choose brutally honest or supportive cheerleader.”
I groan, tossing my head back. Why must she use my own words against me? It was fun when I did it to her about Jake, but being on the other side sucks. Maybe I’ll go with supportive cheerleader. That’s Kate’s natural demeanor, anyway.
“Let’s do supportive cheerleader,” I reply, forcing a smile.
Kate starts to laugh, then suddenly her face becomes serious. “Wrong answer.”
“Then why did you ask?”
“Wanted to see if you would pick the right one,” Kate replies smugly.
“That’s usually my line.” Shaking my head, I realize this is my own fault. The tables are reversed. She’s about to pull my head out of the sand, forcing me to deal with reality. I take a deep breath, clench my fists, and prepare myself to hear the cold, hard truth.
Kate tucks her feet underneath her. “I’ve seen you date countless men, and not a single one of them made you feel anything close to what Alex does.
You love him. He loves you. It’s that simple.
” She clasps her hands together in her lap as her face softens.
“I’m confident you won’t regret taking the next step with him.
You may not use the word yet, but he’s your soulmate.
Jake and I can see it when the two of you are together.
You both sparkle in each other’s presence. ”
“What if he doesn’t say it back?” I whisper, scared that voicing those concerns any louder will somehow make them come true.
“What if he does?” Kate challenges, silently pleading with me to trust her. To believe in what I have with Alex. That this is real, and the only thing holding us back is me.
“How bad would it be if I fucked Jimmy this weekend? I’ve heard his cock is pierced. I could really use a night of meaningless sex to get me out of this funk,” Anna says innocently before downing her drink.
Kate sighs. “We do not fuck Jimmy. Never. Not if he’s the last man on Earth.”
“Maybe you’ve reached your limit for the night if you’re considering getting into bed with him,” I suggest, wondering what kind of hell Anna must be going through to even consider a one-night stand with Jimmy.
She’s practically Southern royalty with a perfect reputation, and Jimmy is the well-known player who is always looking for a good time and nothing more.
His reputation precedes him everywhere he goes.
Anna shrugs. “It’s not like anyone else is interested in me. I thought he was, but then he…”
Who is she talking about?
The bus door flies open as Jake comes bounding up the steps. “Hey, sweetheart. Are you girls having fun?” He lifts Kate off the couch, pulling her into his arms and kissing her like he hasn’t seen her in days, not the mere hour he was gone for soundcheck.
I shake my head, watching the two of them, grateful they found each other. Their love is a testament to what can happen when you take a risk. When you put your heart on the line. And it’s exactly what I want with Alex.
It’s only a matter of getting the courage to tell him and pray he’ll say it back.
“Where are you taking me?” Alex asks, holding my hand as I weave us through the darkened amphitheater.
The concert was over hours ago, but Alex only just finished up his responsibilities for the night. For the most part, everyone is on their respective buses, which sparked an idea for me—one I’m hoping he’ll be on board with and perhaps excited by.
“You’ll see,” I reply cryptically.
I take us to the back of the outdoor theater, walking down an aisle until I stop toward the end of the row. “Take a seat, Alex.”
Confusion flashes across his face. He has no idea what I have planned, and the thrill of surprising him excites me more.
With a crinkled brow, he sits on the metal seat and spreads his legs to get comfortable. Exactly how I imagine he would sit if we were attending a concert together. If I were by his side, listening to our favorite band play. But tonight’s entertainment won’t be music.
Standing in front of him, I lick my lips, and he carefully watches the movement of my tongue. I drag my teeth over my lower lip before straddling him.
“What are you doing, Chelsi?” His hands wrap around my waist, holding me still as his eyes search mine for answers.
“Shhh…” I place my index finger against his lips, relishing in the sensation of touching his skin. “We’re not in the bedroom, so you’re not in charge this time.”
“Are you…for real?” He turns his head to quickly scan the amphitheater, looking for any sign of another soul. “Here?”
I nod. “What’s the point in having an all-access pass if I can’t do whatever the fuck I want. And right now,” I lean forward, my lips barely touching his ear, “I want to ride your cock until I make you come so hard that you can’t see straight. Got any problems with that?”
He swallows hard and shakes his head.
“Good boy. Now, follow my instructions.” I lift my hips slightly, adjusting my skirt. “Grab my ass.”
His hands move swiftly from my waist to my butt. “Fuck, Chelsi. Why aren’t you wearing panties?”
I shrug. “Planned on driving you crazy all night, knowing that I was walking around completely bare under this skirt, but you didn’t get to see me before the concert.”
He groans and looks at the amphitheater pavilion ceiling.
“I was already hard, watching you walk around in that fucking short skirt. I would’ve probably blown a load in my shorts if I knew you weren’t wearing any underwear.
That it was all for me. That you’re all for me.
” He palms my ass, causing me to roll my hips. “Are you wet?”
“Yep. Been thinking about fucking you in the middle of this empty amphitheater for hours. Ever since the idea came into my head.” I slide my arms around his neck. “Kiss me.”
He yanks me closer to him, and his mouth crashes to mine.
There’s a hunger to this kiss, anticipation for what we’re about to do and where we’re about to do it.
Although he’s by the book when it comes to his professional life, this man is up for anything in the bedroom…
or amphitheater. The thrill of being with him in an open environment, where anyone could catch us at any time, heightens my desire for him.
As our tongues dance, I grind my hips onto him, feeling his cock grow harder.
My pussy pulses at the thought of having him inside me, filling me like no one else ever has or will.
My previous plans of getting on my knees for him, then fucking him, go out the window.
I can’t wait that long. I’m not a patient woman when it comes to Alex.
My hands make quick work of his belt and his cargo shorts, undoing both without breaking our kiss.
His body trembles slightly as I graze over his erection, still covered by his boxers.
I’m so worked up at this point, I have to be dripping all over his shorts, making a complete mess, but I don’t care.
I want to mark him, so everyone knows he’s mine.
Breathless, I pull back and stand up, staring at him with lust and love in my eyes. The same way that he appears to be looking at me.
“Get your cock out, Alex. Show me how hard you are for me.”
He lifts, shimmying his shorts and boxer down until they’re at his knees. His cock stands at full attention, precum glistening at the tip. It takes all my self-restraint not to wrap my mouth around him and take him to the back of my throat.
I slip my hand under the top of my shirt, reach into my bra, and pull out a condom. Without saying a word, I slide on his shaft, basking in the way he hisses when I touch his hard length. The desire in his eyes. The longing for me.
When I lift my skirt around my hips, my wet pussy is on full display. I let him have a few seconds to gaze at me before turning around. Bracing myself on the armrests of the chair, I align my center with his tip and slowly slide myself down his shaft.
“Fuck, Chelsi,” he groans as he fills me inch by inch. “You’re so goddamn tight.”
Swiveling my hips, I take him deeper until I’m fully seated with the back of my thighs pressing against his legs.
There’s a slight burn as my body adjusts to his size, stretching around him.
The pressure of his cock inside me puts all my nerve endings on high alert, unlike anything I’ve previously experienced.
Maybe it’s the position. Or the location and the chance of anyone catching us.
Or maybe it’s because this is the first time that we’re having sex since I’ve accepted the truth that I’m in love with him.
No matter the reason, I know fucking him tonight will be different from any other time.
Slowly, I lift myself up and then slam back down on him. Repeating the motion over and over again as his muscles tense.
“Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.” His hands grip my waist, helping me to move faster and harder. “I’m going to fuck you every day for the rest of my life, Chelsi. I’ll never get tired of feeling your pussy wrapped around me like a goddamn glove.”
His words propel me, sending my body into overdrive as I ride him.
Wanting to give him immense pleasure, the kind he always ensures I have every time.
I need him to know how I feel. The words I’m not ready to say.
“I love how you make me feel, Alex. I love fucking you. I love everything about this.”
“Fuck, Chelsi. I’m going to come…”
His cock pulses inside me as I bounce, chasing my own release that happens very quickly after his. We’re both breathless, limp, and covered in sweat after we come down from our orgasm high.
“You’re so fucking amazing, Chelsi.” He presses a kiss to my shoulder.
Blinking back tears, I know I’m forever changed by having Alex in my life. The woman who hides behind jokes about her love life is gone, replaced by one who believes she’s found her soulmate.
I hope what I said to him tonight is enough to make him comfortable saying the words Kate believes are on the tip of his tongue. The ones I never thought I’d hear from any man. The ones I’m waiting for him to say first.
