Epilogue

Iris

Since the day Brom rode me through a literal tree, a portal he promised would open and it did, I have lived. I thought I’d been living before, traveling and learning, but I didn’t truly experience freedom the way I do now.

Brom has been able to fully embrace his role as one of the Four Horseman, no longer bound to Sleepy Hollow.

I ride with him, on my own companion steed, and experience the world with a new perspective.

Today, I finished my novel, and as I send it off to my editor, I hope that my story will change other people’s preconceived notions about the big bad Horseman that rides through the night.

“My lovely little bird,” Brom greets me as he returns. “What are you up to?”

“I’ve just finished my story, and I’m preparing for a new novel.”

“What will you be writing about for this one?” He walks over to where I’m cuddled up in our bed with my laptop.

“Love. I want to branch out and reach people deep in their hearts.”

“You reached mine effortlessly. I have nothing but high hopes for you.” He reaches into his bag before pulling out a box. “I have a gift for you.”

I take it from him, and he urges me to open it. Inside the box is a beautiful silver locket.

“Brom, I don’t know what to say.”

“Say that you’re still mine for as long as time allows, and even after that has passed, you’ll remain at my side.” When I open the locket, there’s a short inscription matching what he told me.

“Always, always,” I say, reaching my arms up and taking him in them.

He kisses me softly at first before tumbling into bed with me.

I’m on his chest, and he makes quick work of our clothes before he takes me with his thick cock.

I rock my hips up and down his length. I wish to be nowhere but here, suspended in time and being consumed by the fearsome and loving Headless Horseman.
