December – MudPit Course, New South Wales

Epilogue

Rayna insisted I didn’t work this break, that I deserve to enjoy some time relaxing. So, after end of season testing concluded, she loaned Javi and I the team motorhome again. We went back to the MudPit for a week of the break with two of the new production motocross bikes to bash around with. Javi and I enjoy spending time together, on and off the track.

I parked the motorhome so we could sit in the front of the motorhome and see the view outside. Taking in the track, the bush and mountains encase the view.

I sit in the driver’s seat, staring out. Javi comes up behind me and passes me a coffee. He leans down, kisses my lips, and brings his hand to run it down my jaw and across my bottom lip. My breath still catches in my throat at the gesture.

He sits in the passenger seat with his own cup, smiling at the view.

“Going to be a great day out there,” he remarks, sipping his coffee.

“All that rain yesterday definitely helped,” I reply.

“Not that I want to encourage torrential rain, but yesterday we did manage to make the most of being indoors.” He looks over with a devilish grin.

Replying with a smile and a wink, I say, “We absolutely made the most of the situation.”

It’s our last day, and then the crew will be coming down to hit the dirt with us. I am looking forward to being around them, that we no longer have to hide our relationship.

We fit together so well, it was a shame to hide this.

We sit in comfortable silence, drinking our coffees, our hands seeking each other’s out as we admire the view.
