Goon #2

Probably provided this home for her and did whatever she wanted to keep her happy.

I could tell when a man loved a woman more than she loved him.

Moms said that the man should always be more in love with the woman.

Ollie wasn’t shorty’s type, but for the right price and accommodations, she would make him her type.

Judging from this house, she had found some room in her cold heart to make him believe she loved him the same way he loved her.

Shit was sick.

I never had that problem because Zoya felt the same way that I did.

She played that shit off but let me cut her ass off and the crazy would come out.

I never questioned how she felt, I just needed her ass to stop running from the best thing that happened to her.

I knew I loved her more than she loved me, and that was something that I was fine with.

“Montana,” I whispered.

Khaos looked at me confused. “Huh?”

Wylie had brought her and some other shorty in our section at the opening of Havoc’s lounge.

While her friend was all over Wylie, she kept checking her phone and giving small pieces of conversation.

I remember her because when she mentioned being a premed student, we said we knew a doctor, and she wanted to know who.

In the picture, she was smiling and though she didn’t feel the same way Ollie felt about her, she was at peace.

Judging from the expensive tote bag filled with books and a laptop, the designer sneakers neatly placed at the foyer of the home, and the BMW key fob sitting in the expensive decorative bowl on the counter, she was at peace and had requested a piece.

“Wyoming,” Khaos said.

I looked at my brother confused. “The fuck?”

“We saying random states and shit, I’m adding Wyoming to the mix.”

Usually, I would have time to go back and forth with this nigga, but not right now. I also didn’t have time to explain how I knew who shorty was in the picture.

I exhaled slowly and headed up the stairs where the bedrooms were. As I made my way upstairs, my hand rested on the waistband of my sweats. Just because Ollie pretended to suck as security didn’t mean the nigga was to be underestimated. Nobody was to be underestimated in this life.

Every pussy nigga eventually let their balls drop when they felt like they had something to prove, or something to live for.

Ollie had both stacked against him.

The upstairs matched the same color scheme and coziness of downstairs. If the doctor shit didn’t work out, she could become an interior decorator. I mean, if she lived to speak about the shit, and I had no plans on leaving anyone breathing in this house.

Khaos finished naming random ass states and was right behind me. I stopped in the middle of the steps, and my brother didn’t question it. We worked well together because we moved as one. If I stopped, then he was stopping right behind me. He didn’t need to know the reason for my decisions.

The toilet flushed, which meant I was either too early, or whoever was too late. “Tana, I got to be up in a few hours. You were supposed to have been home.” I could hear Ollie’s voice, laced in sleepiness.

He made that little pig noise people did when they were scratching their throats.

It always irritated me whenever Chef did that shit.

He had the phone on speaker, because I could hear everything going on in the background of the call.

There were sirens and a shit load of people chatting away like it wasn’t the early hours of the morning.

His feet shuffled across the carpet runners that lined the hallway. From where we stood, I could see his feet and the bottom of his pajama pants. Bitch ass wore pajamas like a pussy.

I slept in my draws so whenever Boobie got to feeling for my shit, it was ready for her. It was better that he had on pants. I didn’t want to see his ass in his draws, anyway.

“Baybeeeee, you said that I could hang with the gurlsss,” she slurred.

With all the commotion going on in the background, it sounded like shorty wasn’t coming home anytime soon.

“Bitchhhh! Hang up with that whining ass nigga. They about to take us to the next spot in his Range Rover,” another woman sloppily slurred into the phone.

I shook my head.

We were doomed as people. If a Range Rover had shorty excited, she might have actually passed out finding out that my in-laws gifted their women islands and shit.

I could tell they both were sloppy drunk from the way she dragged the word bitch out before getting to her actual point.

“Montana, where the fuck are you? I’m about to come and get you,” he stopped short before entering the bedroom. Like he was about to make a dash for the keys and head to pick her up in his pajamas.

I could see his free hand flex because he was frustrated.

This shit probably happened every weekend.

Her friends told her that he was an easy trick, and she stuck around because he kept her put up and comfortable.

She was able to follow her dreams without having to squeeze in some booty shorts and serve bottles with sparklers.

I was impressed that she was a premed student and not some dumb bitch who sat on her ass with no goals or aspirations.

“Baeeee, I’m good. I’ll be home in a little whil—”

“It’s fucking three in the morning, Montana!” he roared into the phone, clearly irritated because this wasn’t a one-time thing.

He had probably spent many nights in the house waiting for her during girl’s night, knowing that she was gone for the night and probably with the next nigga.

“Eww, he not even fine enough to be having an attitude like that.” Her friend sucked her teeth in the background.

Montana laughed. “Stoppp… he pays for everything and got us those new jobs at that private clinic.”

He remained in the doorway as me and Khaos eased back down the steps, careful not to make any noise. He was between the hallway and the bedroom, so he could make a quick turn at any moment to head and pick her up.

My phone buzzed in my pocket as I eased around the corner into the kitchen. I looked at it and smirked when I saw my baby’s name on the screen.

“Boobie, what up?”

“I’m irritated.”

“Why?” She was taking forever to get to the point. “Baby, I’m in the middle of some shit… need you to be quick on your feet for Daddy, ight?”

“Why are you whispering… never mind. I don’t know if this is your baby, or just me being greedy, but I want chili crisped edamame, and I can’t find none anywhere.”

I looked at my phone to see what time it was. “Not gonna find that shit at four in the morning, Darling.”

She giggled. “I know. I couldn’t sleep because my mouth is watering for it. Would you consider this a pregnancy craving, or is it too soon?”

“My seed is an overachiever, so even if it’s too soon, he in there ready for all the shenanigans to put his mama through it.”

“He?”

The floor creaked above us. “I’m gonna feed my babies… give me a couple hours.”

“Okay. Be safe, Goo… love you.”

“Love you more.” I quickly ended the call and looked at my brother. “Fuck up.”

He shrugged. “I’m about to be an uncle.”

The floor creaked again, this time we could hear his footsteps heading towards the bathroom again.

“I got a fucking text from my boss. I don’t give a fuck when you come home, Tana,” he whined into the phone, clearly bothered that shorty wasn’t coming home anytime soon.

And whenever she did bring herself through that door, she was gonna have another nigga’s cum between her legs.

The pipes rumbled, and we could hear him running a shower.

I looked over at Khaos and sighed, forgetting this nigga was right here and listening. “Yeah. Be better than Chef, though.”

“Nigga, not even a question. I’mma be there for my nephew. You know for sure if it’s a boy?”

“Nah.”

“I’mma send a prayer up for Melle. If it’s a boy, then you know that’s him giving us a second chance.”

I smiled to myself.

As much as I loved and respected my uncle, he was as absent as my sperm donor.

The only difference was that I knew if I needed something, he’d move hell and high water to make it happen.

Even if he was locked up or out the way, he would make sure it arrived to me.

Whenever he did show up, I knew he was coming with a lesson and the history behind the lesson he was about to teach me.

It was those lessons and the history behind them that molded me into the man that I was today.

“Fuck is we doing? Getting him in the shower, or what?”

I laughed. “Only right. He invaded my baby’s privacy. I’m returning the fucking favor.”

“Let’s get the shit done.” Khaos dapped me, as I headed up the steps.

As we came closer to the bathroom door, this nigga had the nerve to still be on the phone going back and forth with this bitch.

“I’m out here risking my fucking life to make more money, and you can’t even come home.”

“Damn, Ollie… I don’t ever get to have fucking fun.

I’m always in the house, at school, or under you whenever you make time.

” She sounded like he not only blew her drunk, but her fun, too.

Instead of having fun with her girls, she was on the phone reminding her man of some shit that he already knew.

Between the water and her background, it was loud.

“You always out with that hoe Nisha… bitch always corrupting you.”

“Man, whatever. I knew you were gonna bring that up. You hate Nisha because she reminds me that I’m not married to you, and you have a slew of other bitches. Why you didn’t get one of them to spend time with you tonight?”

“Where the fuck you pull that bullshit from?”

“Your shit isn’t as squeaky clean as you pretend to be. That nice guy, I’m different from the other guys, isn’t what you really are. Tricked the fuck out of me.”

The bar of soap fell, making a loud ass sound in the hollow tub.

“This nigga done dropped the fucking soap,” Khaos muttered.

“Bitch, I’m out here risking my fucking life to give you this home and fucking car. I pay your tuition, and all you got is complaints from your friend who fucking for hers.”
