Goon

Recommendation: Listen to “U AIN’T Regular” by Plies

I held my baby’s Birkin as I jogged down the steps of the jet. We were back in the states, and I couldn’t front, I wanted to stay back in Jamaica a bit longer. The weeks we spent there were well needed.

Boobie had so much fun that she didn’t even miss Christmas. I was worried that she would miss celebrating it, but she didn’t mention shit to me. I wanted her to be sure this was something that she wanted. Our children would be raised like Capp and Alaia without Christmas.

I wasn’t going to make it special by giving them gifts because we didn’t celebrate the holiday.

I respected how Capp and Alaia stood firm on that with their kids.

His family wasn’t Muslim, so they went all out for the holidays.

Rather than them tell their family to change, they removed themselves out the equation, which earned my respect.

Eid was the time to get gifts and celebrate with our family. I wanted her to get a taste of what holidays would look like for us. Her family still celebrated Christmas. That wasn’t to say that we wouldn’t spend it with them.

Shit got trickier when kids came into play.

“Good afternoon, Mr. Wraithe,” the attendant took my duffle bag and handed me the keys.

Zoya had a blanket wrapped around her, and a cup in her hand. She couldn’t stop spitting. We had an appointment for the doctor so we could check in on the baby. With us being home, we could get her a regular doctor up until she was ready to give birth.

“A Rolls Royce… fancy, Pumpkin.” I reached for her hand when she got to the bottom.

I held the door opened for her, and because she was nosey, she stopped short. “Gerald… this is mine?”

The license plate saying Mrs. Wife Lady was on the back. She didn’t give a damn about the blanket or the cup in her hand, as she looked at the two-toned Rolls Royce Wraith. The black and gun metal made the shit look so sleek and regal.

She pushed the blanket and cup into the man’s hand and jumped into my arm. I kissed her lips as I held her. I loved that she never doubted if I could hold her.

“For me.”

“You told me don’t make you a Wraithe, unless I put you in a Wraith. My dear, I make shit happen when it comes to you.”

She kissed my lips. “And the brownstone in Brooklyn?”

I kissed her lips, slapping her ass. “We not living in Brooklyn, Boobie… I said what I said.”

The Zoya I had first met would have wanted to get down and pouted. She kissed my lips. “Okay.”

I wanted my family far removed from the city. Buying our forever home wasn’t on the top of my list because we had a bunch of other shit to handle. When we got to it, we wouldn’t be living in the damn city, I could promise that.

Boobie finally got down and went to look in the inside and squealed. “A baby chair.”

“Car seat, Ma’am… it’s not buckled in,” the attendant corrected.

“Baby not here, so we good.”

I held the door for her, as she climbed in so excited. Between her ring and this car, I knew she was gonna suck my dick and swallow me. Zoya loved sucking dick and woke me up with my dick in her mouth.

When you kept your promises, were intentional and your girl felt safe with you, you woke up to head. We switched from the resort to a villa that was a little further out of town. I’d be cooking and my baby would pull my shorts down and take me in her mouth.

Shit, she was making those runny ass eggs, and I pulled her slip up and ate her pussy right in the kitchen. If she wasn’t pregnant before, she would have been with the amount of times I had cum in her mouth and inside of her.

Moms decided to stay in Jamaica, and I moved her to a villa in the same area. She wanted more time, and Maxine said she would stay with her. Their relationship had always been complicated. There had been times when they didn’t speak, and then when they needed each other, they would be there.

I didn’t try and understand what they had, because some things weren’t meant for me to understand. All I knew is that my mother wanted to spend more time home, and I was going to allow that for her.

I grabbed Boobie’s hand and looked at the ring, kissing the back of her hand. “Love you, Baby.”

“I love you, Pumpkin… I’m so scared.”

“Tell me why?”

“This feels so good, Goo. Good things like this don’t last for me, and I’m scared it will be taken away.”

Her feelings were valid. She lived her life waiting for the other shoe to drop. Instead of enjoying the joy and blessings that were happening, she was holding her breath waiting for it to all go bad.

“Boobie, we deserve everything that is happening for us. Do you realize how much I prayed for yo stubborn ass? To get the chance to love you like I knew you needed, beat those walls down to adjust that attitude, and put our creation inside of you. Nothing can break this… us. If it tries, they got to get through me, okay?”

“Okay,” she smiled.

“It’s gonna feel so funny living alone agai— ouch!”

I bit her finger while looking between her and the car. “Stop playing with me… you never going back to living alone.”

She smirked. “Nigga gone off me… bought me a wraith and a ring.”

“Fuck you meaaan! Niggas thought I wasn’t putting my wife in a wraith?”

We both laughed as I kissed her hands, as we drove back to her apartment. Don and Navy had Bando and would bring him back into the states. They were set to arrive behind us.

“Time to negotiate Forty’s surrender.”

Kissing her hand a few times, I said, “You got this shit… don’t doubt what the fuck you do. Biggest dawg I fucking know. Makes my dick hard just thinking about it.”

She spit into her cup. “Oh yeah?”

“Uh huh.”

She leaned across and kissed my cheek. “Thank you, Pumpkin.”

“For what?”

“Reassuring me. I start getting dark and negative. I need that.”

“Never have to thank me.”

Don and Navy were landing tomorrow night, so I told them I would go by his grandmother’s block to check on her family.

We would have known if something was wrong with them, but I knew the reassurance that I actually put eyes on them made her feel better.

Navy’s grandmother had given us coffee and was trying to fix us food.

“Congratulations, nigga… you bout to marry fucking Zoya.” Quasim laughed, as he leaned on the stoop.

“Bout to join the club… give me some advice, the fuck I need to know?”

Quasim looked up and smiled. “She’s always right. Even if she’s wrong, she right. Don’t you dare try to be right, that shit hurts.”

“Like emotionally?”

“Nah physically.”

“Queen be in there whooping your ass?”

“Fuck outta here.” He looked around like he expected her to jump out the bushes or something.

“Okay, I’m all done.” Elijah came out the house.

“Told you to stop drinking so much water when we’re out.” He nuzzled his head, as we both kept a look out.

The city was quiet.

It didn’t mean there wasn’t shit lurking around every corner.

Elijah begged to go with his father, and Sim couldn’t tell him no.

I understood it because my God baby had me the same way.

I was a sucker when it came to her, and I admitted it proudly.

I knew when my own kid came, I would remain the sucker.

A Mercedes Benz pulled up, and we both were on guard, Quasim standing in front of his son. The car hit its hazards and Avril hopped out the driver’s side.

“Hey, is everything alright with Navy and Don?” she instantly got to worrying. I smirked because she was just as worried about Don, as she was with her own child.

Quasim relaxed. “We came by to check on your parents for them. They get in tomorrow night.”

“Did she make you take a selfie with her grandmother?” Avril knew her daughter almost too well.

“Yeah,” I admitted.

She laughed. “Girl is crazy. I miss her crazy butt, too… I’d rather her safe. This new life of hers will be an adjustment.”

“It’s for her safety. Everything they do is for the safety of their wives,” Quasim explained, trying to make her feel better.

The door of the car opened. “Lijah!” the little girl flung herself out of the back of the car and ran towards Elijah.

He looked shocked and then it clicked for him. “Magnolia!”

Elijah took off running towards her like she ran to him. Quasim was right behind him, because if this little turned out to be something else, this nigga was gonna walk down this little girl.

“Elijah!” the girl cried out as she clung onto him like she has gone a long time without seeing him.

“Maggie!”

Quasim looked at me, and it clicked that Maggie was a real person. I had to let Capp know because he was ten minutes from arranging an exorcism.

“This is Maggie?”

They both broke their hug and held hands. Elijah looked up at his father and smiled; his face wet with tears. “Pops, she is my sister.”

Avril stared at them and then turned her attention to me. “She speaks of a brother. Always saying they would play together and then they made her leave ‘cause she was bad.”

Quasim led them over towards us but gave us space to talk. “Avril, where is she from? We looked up everything on his birth mother and she never came up… it was only him.”

Recommendation: Listen to “Never Can Say Goodbye” by Jackson 5

“A few months ago, we raided a home with a bunch of children. They were all missing children and neglected, malnourished and all of that. Magnolia was one of the children. She was skinny, scared and abused.”

Quasim walked away with his hand over his face. “Avril, please don’t fucking tell me… don’t tell me this shit.”

Avril touched his shoulder. “Not in that way. Maggie was used as a savior sibling. We believe her mother was a victim of the egg farming scandal. She is younger than Elijah. Some very rich people paid to have her conceived for a child of theirs that was sick. The number of surgeries this little has undergone is horrible. Then she was just dumped… out of all the kids that were missing children, she was never reported.”

“Elijah, you never told me about her.” Quasim bent down and looked his son in the eyes.

“I was scared. Thea said to never speak on her when she left us. She said we grew her until she was old enough to go.”

“Oh fuc… I mean shi…hel—”

“Gerald, at this point don’t say nothing.” Avril shook her head, as she looked at me trying to find the right words.

The little girl clung onto Elijah like she never wanted to let go of him. “Can we take her home? I have a good Mommy and a little sister. We have the space, Pops, please.”

Sim was caught in a tough space. He couldn’t just take this little girl with him. Avril worked for the city, and this was her job. “She cannot go with you today, Elijah. Maggie has to go back to the foster home.”

“Please don’t take her from me again!” Elijah pleaded with his father. This was the man that saved him, and he wanted him to do the same for his sister.

They both started crying which fucked me up even more. I couldn’t stand here and watch them pull the kids apart. Avril had to hold onto Maggie, as she kicked and screamed while reaching out for Elijah.

The shit broke my heart.
