Chapter 10

FORREST WAS glad the week was over. The first month to six weeks of school were the hardest. Getting the kids into a routine was tough, but he knew that once he had one set, things would get a little easier.

At least he hoped so. The kids in his class were good for the most part.

There were a few who were always trying to test the boundaries of what was allowed, but Forrest knew how to handle them.

It was the paperwork that was bowling him over.

Forrest sat at his table, working through forms and the required reports for each of the kids in his class.

He checked the time and went back to work, hoping to get everything done in the next hour or so.

His phone chimed, and he glanced at the message and then continued on, determined to get this done, He had finally gotten into a routine and was nearly finished when someone knocked on his front door. He groaned and went to answer it.

“I’d like to talk to you about your internet supplier,” the man started.

Forrest grimaced. “I’m sorry, but I don’t have time right now.” He closed the door and went back to work, wondering who would go door to door for something like that. Still, he finished up the last report and saved it. With a sigh, he smiled to himself and stretched, checking the time again.

“Damn,” he said out loud. It was nearly noon and he was expected at Conrad’s. Forrest quickly checked that he looked okay and grabbed the small bag he had packed. He left his apartment, heading to Forrest’s, where he found a parking spot just across the street.

“Hey,” he said when Conrad opened the door.

“I was wondering if you forgot,” Conrad said.

“Nope. I had paperwork to finish, and it took me longer than I expected to get it done. But I have all my work done, so there’s nothing I need to do this weekend.”

“The same here, unless something blows up.” Conrad took his jacket and hung it up. Forrest slipped his arms around him, and Conrad sighed and closed the door. He turned in Forrest’s embrace and kissed him.

Forrest wanted to do this forever. He loved kissing, and Conrad was damned good at it. The heat between them built quickly, and Forrest was tempted to tug Conrad up to the bedroom, but he had learned that anticipation was the best heat builder, so he backed away. “What do you want to do for lunch?’

“I’m not sure. I have basic things in the house, but we could go out to eat.”

“How about Chinese?” Forrest asked and pulled out his phone, “We could have it delivered.” It was the best thing if they didn’t want a lot of questions asked about the time they were spending together.

“Sounds good. Get me the Singapore noodles. No shrimp, extra chicken. I’m allergic to some shrimp and don’t want to roll the dice.”

“Huh?”

“It seems I’m only allergic to shrimp from certain places.

But since I don’t know where the shrimp come from, it’s best to not eat any.

Apparently not all shrimp are the same. The last time I had a reaction, I was in the hospital for two days, and they said the next one could be worse. So I always order with no shrimp.”

“Okay. Singapore noodles, no shrimp, extra chicken,” He placed the order, including his, and then drew closer.

“So what do you want to do until the food gets here?” Forrest took hold of his belt and pulled him closer.

Conrad smiled at the cheesy gesture, but as soon as Forrest’s warm hand slid under his shirt, the smile slipped away and he moaned deeply.

“I don’t know.” Forrest tweaked a nipple and then spun Conrad around.

Damn, he had a way of making him feel as though he were the center of everything.

It also helped that Forrest was really good with buttons, because soon enough his shirt and slacks hung open and Forrest had his fingers around Conrad’s cock, stroking slowly.

“You know, I think I’m the kind of guy who likes to have dessert first.” He turned Conrad and pressed him against the table before sinking to his knees.

Conrad gasped as Forrest took his cock deep in a single motion.

The air swept from his lungs, and Conrad held the side of the table for support.

His legs shook and he tried to control his own body, but it seemed Forrest had taken complete control and all he could do was go along for the ride… and damn, it was one hell of a time.

Then table shook along with Conrad’s hips, and Forrest took all he had, driving Conrad out of his mind until he couldn’t hold back any longer.

“Forrest… I….” He clamped his eyes closed to give him as much warning as possible before his release barreled into him, and all Conrad could do was hold on for dear life to try to keep his legs from buckling under him as he floated his way to near oblivion.

Forrest stood and licked his lips while Conrad whimpered and tried to get his mind to work again. “Jesus….”

“Yeah?” Forrest asked. “That was some dessert.” He stood and held him for a while. Conrad clutched Forrest for a bit and then realized his pants were still around his ankles. He pulled them up and fastened his belt just as the bell rang, telling them their lunch had arrived.

“WHAT DO you want to do?” Conrad asked as they finished eating a little while later. “We can work on the model or….”

“Let’s get to your computer and see what we can find out about Lester. I’m assuming that—”

“He’s been his usual gossipy, obnoxious self, yes. And he keeps making insinuations that are pretty insulting. I think it’s all part of his game, but I’ve had enough of whatever he’s playing at.”

“Then let’s see what we can turn up,” Forrest said, and Conrad led him into his small home office in a room off the back of the house.

He unlocked the computer and let Forrest sit down.

“First, we can start with any criminal offenses. There are databases of ongoing and past criminal cases. There are also civil cases, so we can check one and then the other.” He got to work and didn’t seem to come up with anything at first.

“So he doesn’t have a criminal record?” Conrad asked.

“He doesn’t appear to, at least not in PA. But let’s check other records. We can start here in Cumberland County.” Forrest got to work, and Conrad retrieved another chair, sitting next to him. “Huh….”

“What?”

“It probably isn’t a surprise that he divorced about five years ago.” Forrest continued looking. “His ex-wife is Rachel Flowers and… she has a restraining order on him. But it looks like it expired.” He turned to Conrad, his skin paling.

“What is it?” Conrad asked.

“I need to check something else,” he said, minimizing the window and bringing up a new one.

“Why are you logging into the school system?” Conrad asked, but Forrest didn’t answer. He brought up his class roster and clicked on Bethany Flowers. “Is that who I think?”

Forrest nodded. “It seems he’s the father of one of my students.

” He logged off and closed the window. “Oh God. Lester Drovers is the father of one of my other students. Apparently she is going by Flowers instead of Drovers, but her mother is Rachel Flowers, and there’s a note to contact her immediately if Bethany’s father tries to get in contact.

” He sat back. “What I don’t know is what Lester did to warrant all of this protection. ”

“Jesus. I wonder if they know any of this at work,” Conrad questioned. “I sure as hell hope so, but if they don’t….”

“It’s one hell of a hot potato,” Forrest said.

“The last thing you want is to be the one to blow the whistle on something like this. It will only make you look bad and rather petty. Besides, it’s family stuff, and that’s the stickiest kind of thing.

We have to be careful at the school. I mean, he is her father, and with an expired restraining order, there is little to stop him from seeing his daughter.

” Forrest groaned. “But it also makes things stickier for us.”

“Yeah. Who could have imagined that Lester’s daughter would be in your class.” Conrad held his head in his hands. “Or that Lester’s daughter and mine would be friends. Lizzie sits near Bethany, and she talks about her.”

“Yeah. They play together a lot at recess,” Forrest confirmed and returned to the computer. He reopened the earlier window and went back to searching. “God.”

“Is there more?”

“No. I can’t get at the details, and we’d probably need to go to the courthouse to get them.

But there’d be enough red tape and open records request forms to choke a horse.

This is probably enough for now. I could check other counties to see if they have anything.

I’d try Dauphin, but their records are a notorious mess.

Still….” He checked and didn’t come up with anything.

“So nothing criminal, but plenty of dirt with his family.”

“Yeah,” Forrest said almost in a whisper. “I mean, I could probably come up with the story if I asked around at school. Everyone seems to know the dirt on everyone else, and especially the kids’ families.”

“Whatever you do, don’t get yourself in any sort of trouble. I’m not sure I want to use any of this anyway. I mean, families are always messed up, especially during a divorce. It’s possible she filed for the order as some sort of retaliation. Though that’s pretty extreme.”

“Yeah.” Forrest looked for a while longer and then sat back from the computer. “I don’t know if we’re going to find out anything else.”

“Okay. Then how about we have some fun.” Conrad rested his hands on Forrest’s shoulders. “I was thinking about what we were working on….”

“Yeah, me too, and I’m not sure I’m feeling it.”
