Criminal Confessions, Season 7: The Carnival Killer

EPISODE 2—UNEDITED INTERVIEW WITH SAMUEL FIGG

Location: Washington State Men’s Penitentiary, Walla Walla, WA

JANA JONES [PRODUCER, OFF CAMERA]: You were convicted of murdering Evelyn Duncan, Crystal Fankowski, Lorelei Glass, Karla Twain, and Gina DiMaggio. If you say you didn’t kill all of them, then which one didn’t you kill?

SAMUEL FIGG: The third one. Lorelei.

JONES: Then why did you confess to her murder?

FIGG: They found her picture in my car. They interrogated me for two days. They wouldn’t believe anything I told them, so . . . [shrugs] it just seemed easier to say I did it.

JONES: Easier? What’s your endgame here, Mr. Figg?

FIGG: Endgame?

JONES: What’s your agenda? Why talk about this now?

FIGG: Hey now, you’re the one who called me. I got no agenda. What I got is stage four lung cancer. And I already know that when I die, I’m going to the Bad Place.

JONES: So if you didn’t kill Lorelei, then who did?

FIGG: [shrugs] I do have some thoughts on that. But let’s take our time, pretty lady. I’ve never been one to rush.
