Sierra #2
“Where ya been, man? We’ve been here waiting on you for like ten minutes,” Brax says, pushing himself off the wall and stepping closer to me.
“Had to go by Dad’s office and get some money. I forgot my wallet at home and didn’t know how much cash you fuckers had on you. I’m a growing boy with a chiseled body to maintain, gotta make sure I eat plenty.” Laughing, I pull up my shirt and run the palm of my hand over my defined abs.
They both double over but they know my words are true. Assholes. Looking around, I scan the area, making sure there's no one approaching. I got something I need to ask and don’t want anyone else to hear.
“What the hell are you looking for?” Zan asks when he notices what I’m doing.
“Just making sure none of the guys or girls are around before I ask you two something.”
“Nah, they’re already inside, saving us a spot.
We told them we’d wait for you out here.
But we might need to use some of that money you borrowed, seeing how Zan forgot his wallet, too.
You’d think you two were the twins instead.
So why are you looking for them?” Brax looks at me with his eyebrow raised.
“So, I just saw this girl in Dad’s office, and she’s a fucking smoke show, but her name is the same as the girl you met, and the one Wesley told us to stay the fuck away from.” Looking between the two of them, both of their eyes get big.
“Yeah, she’s my literature partner. But she’s so quiet and timid, a lot like Brax described her to be.
I just don’t see how she’s this evil person they claim her to be.
She looked like she was about to break down in tears at any minute.
” Zan casts his eyes down as he speaks, which leads me to believe something else happened he may be a little embarrassed about.
I will definitely question that more later.
“Yeah, same in the office. She looked at me and her eyes were full of pain.”
“There’s got to be more to the story.” Looking through the glass windows of the cafeteria door, I see Wesley standing, waving his arms for us to hurry up.
“Don’t say anything in front of them about it,” I tell them before reaching out, taking hold of the door handle, and pulling it open.
I head straight for the lunch line which has dwindled down to only a few people.
My brothers fall in line behind me as we walk past the tables full of students who are shouting and laughing.
“Bout time, what took y’all so long?” Wes asks us as we reach the table, with Savannah practically sitting in his lap.
Yeah, I made the right call, staying far away from that one at the lake.
She’s like a leech, sucking all she can from you, jumping to whoever is willing at the moment.
Why she’s not pegged as a slut eludes me unless it’s because her father is a member of the city council.
“I had to go get money from our dad, so they were waiting for me.” It’s not a complete lie.
“Dude, Zan got stuck with the bitch for our literature project. Don’t sit too close to him. You never know what disease will jump from her to him.” Jack announces around a mouthful of food, some of which sprays from his mouth as he speaks.
“Seems we got to be careful around you too, or risk getting sprayed with chewed up food,” Brax says, wiping some bits of pizza that had landed on his arm.
“Did y’all see her fall on her face this morning? I don’t know how she didn’t see that football flying at the back of her head.” Savannah laughs as she reaches across the table, giving Jack a high five.
“It was epic, and my aim was right on,” Jack says, bursting with laughter as the whole table joins in. Oddly, so do me and my brothers.
“If you like that, wait till she goes to her locker. You will want to make sure you have a front-row seat for it.” An evil smirk crosses her face as she scoots closer to Wes, who seems to be ignoring her until she places her arm on his shoulder.
She leans into him and licks her tongue along his ear.
“Still want me to come over tonight?” she purrs.
My brothers and I exchange a knowing look. We need to be there, whether it’s to stop her or see just how cruel these people we’re starting to call friends can be.
The conversation moves from Sierra and their vendetta against her to the upcoming game this weekend. The first one of the year, and it’s against a team they’ve had a rivalry with for years. It’s a pre-season game, but they’re still tackling it as if it’s one that matters.
Before we know it, the bell’s ringing, announcing the end of lunch.
Looking down at my schedule, I see I have trigonometry next.
Peeking over to get a look at my brother's schedule, I’m thrilled to see I share it with him.
We’ve barely had any classes together, unlike our other school, when six out of the seven were all three of us.
Savannah is up and running for the doors, no doubt headed toward the lockers. “Come on, guys, we need to hurry. Last year she always went after lunch, so she should be heading there now.” She motions for us to come on and we all get up to follow her.
It takes a few minutes for us to make it out of the cafeteria and down the cramped student hallway, stopping abruptly behind Savannah who stands there with her hand placed on her hip, Wes’ arm hanging over her shoulder as they watch the girl I saw in Dad’s office standing at her locker.
Her hand spins the dial on her lock. Just as she opens the door, a bag hanging inside is ripped open from the string attached to it, and a heaping amount of trash falls out onto her.
Food peelings, empty cans, soiled diapers…
and fuck say that isn’t what I think it is, condoms with what appears to be cum inside of them.
Her screams are full of pain and echo through the hallway, but the laughter of the students who knew about this almost drowns them out. The teacher in the classroom beside her row of lockers rushes out, coming to an abrupt halt.
“Sierra, my god, what happened? Go to the office and let Mrs. Bullock know, so she can get the janitor. Then go get cleaned up and get to class. Absolutely disgusting.” She puts her hand up to her face, covering her nose.
Sierra turns and heads down the hallway, her head hung low.
“Savannah, how did you get into her locker?” Wes leans into her and asks.
“Bella works in the office and looked in the locker login and got it. She got Zane to put the trash in,” she says before the teacher calls out for everyone to get to class, something about the show being over.
