Chapter 8

CHAPTER

EIGHT

KEV

Everything makes sense now. Why he was so quiet in his heat… A pang of sadness hits me that we weren’t able to make this heat a little more special for him. He deserves a nest curated just for him.

This was his first goddamn heat.

We were the first Alphas to ever be there for him, offering our knots for comfort. August is rubbing his face and hands all over my body, causing my purr to reach levels I’ve never heard it at.

Abel seems to be blissed out too. High on this feeling of having an omega between us. It’s everything I imagined it would be. It’s all I’ve ever dreamed of with Abel, and it feels almost too good to be true.

I’m vowing from here on out that August’s heat will be nothing but comfort in the new nest. He gets to wave his hand and bring it to life. And with Abel being a contractor, that’ll be exactly what will happen.

I lean in and press a soft kiss to Abel’s lips over August’s head, letting him know we don’t need to stress.

“Fuck yes, you two are together too.” August does some motion with his arm that I can’t see fully, and Abel and I just chuckle.

“I don’t know what I did to deserve this, but hell yes,” August adds and leans his head back on Abel’s chest.

Abel’s arms encircle August’s shoulders, and he places a kiss on the top of his head. “Let’s get you in the shower.”

As shy as I’ve seen August so far, he whispers, “Please… I’m a sticky mess.”

And the shyness won’t do. “We love you a sticky mess.” I know the look on my face tells him I’d like to eat every inch of him if he’ll let me, which brings a smile to his lips.

My cock is hardening between our bodies by the second, and he looks down, murmuring, “I’d like to give this a ride, actually aware of my surroundings…”

That sends another pang through me, hating that we weren’t able to get his consent, but he had to have our knots or he would’ve been riddled with pain from his heat—most likely would’ve needed to be sedated.

I grab his face, and he sobers when our eyes meet. “We’re sorry that we didn’t have consent before all of this. You were in so much pain, and the bonding of our scent match was inevitable.”

“This probably makes me a shitty human, but you two could do whatever you want to me.” The blush covering his cheeks is so cute, but his words make the caveman in me want to scream from the rooftops that August is mine.

“Anything?” I raise my brows in question.

He nods. “Anything.”

“That’s a good fucking omega,” Abel purrs while licking his bond mark on August’s neck.

August whimpers at Abel’s praise, and my mind immediately floats to how well he’s taken this whole situation.

Maybe he’s just in shock and the shit will hit the fan soon, but I shove that thought out of my head before it comes to life.

It’s obviously not over yet, and we’re planning to go to the police station to try to find out who these jackasses running the website are.

But first, we need to get ourselves in the shower and August settled in.

Fuck, is he going to want to stay here with us…

He can’t leave. Abel will be beside himself, especially knowing these random people who I can only assume kidnapped him off the streets when his first heat hit randomly, are still out there.

I know the heats following can also be sporadic, and I refuse to let my bonded have to suffer without his Alphas.

And who am I kidding, I’ll be beside myself too.

I can’t protect him if he’s not with us. The only feeling consuming me since bonding with him is an overwhelming urge to protect and care for my omega. This deep need fills me to protect him and all the other omegas that are in danger from the horrific people running the omega auction website.

We looked last night, while August had drifted off to sleep after taking both of our knots yet again, to find the website, but we had no luck. Only a 404 error page was popping up. We even tried calling the number that texted Abel, but it’s out of service.

I have a bad feeling I’m about to become a low-level detective if the folks at the police station don’t do something to stop this shit from happening to these innocent omegas.
