The Dark Fog Returned
I saw it swirl from around her chair,
filling the floors of the room.
I could feel its moist constraints

a wine-dark ocean, rich with danger.
This was a threat.
I knew it as I saw it.
She leaned forward,
her dark dress of diamond stars
turning into rubies as she kept
her eyes on mine.
