Prologue #2
Lottie – CALL ME! The cops are here.
A low grumble came from within him. Razor was over the situation with the other doctor. Hitting the call button, he waited for Lottie to answer, which she did with a clipped tone.
“I’ve been calling you!” Lottie snapped at Razor as she held out her hand, halting the young officer from telling her what to do. She knew what to do and what to ask. The last thing she needed or wanted was a man ordering her around.
Holding up his hand, Razor let Book know he wanted a drink. “Okay, the code is *1232#76” he told her and listened while waiting for the alarm to go off.
“Hang on,” she told him, annoyed at the older doctor for leaving her at the clinic alone. Leaving her to do his job. She wasn’t getting paid enough to be the one holding the keys.
Razor listened to the blaring sound of the clinic's alarm system. When it went silent, he let out a sigh of relief.
“The cop wants to talk to you,” Lottie told him.
“Put him on.”
“Dr. Clermont, I’m officer Dupuis. The receptionist…”
“Nurse. I’m not a receptionist,” Lottie snipped, cutting into the conversation. Razor smiled hearing her fussing.
“Sorry, your nurse said the doctor on duty left early and she didn’t know the code. Can you verify her name, sir.” Officer Dupuis moved back away from the furious looking nurse. He dealt with angry women while doing his job, but they didn’t make him feel as uneasy as this one did.
Sir. Razor almost laughed at the comment. Taking the opportunity to mess with Lottie he came up with the description of a fictitious woman down to a fake name on the fly. “Yes, she’s a blonde with blue eyes. Tall, curvy. Her name is Colleen Tilly.”
Officer Dupuis stared at the angry woman in front of him, she did not meet the doctor’s description. “I think we have a problem, sir.”
“I’m kidding. Her name is Charlotte McDaniels. She answers to Lottie. Black hair, green eyes, petite. Looks like a vampire.” Sexy, smartass that I’m in serious like with. Razor chuckled at his description of the girl.
Checking the time, Razor didn’t like Lottie closing then walking through a deserted parking lot that was ill lit to get to her car. “Would you mind making sure she gets to her car? The area isn’t the best,” he asked Officer Dupuis.
“No problem. We’ll remain on location until Miss McDaniels locks up.” Officer Dupuis knew the area and wouldn't want a woman walking alone after dark there.
Shooting Lottie a text, Razor waited for her to call back.
Razor- Text me when you’re on your way home.
Closing his phone, he took the beer Book handed him.
He needed to pull the trigger with the other doctor.
There needed to be a change, and soon. Every time the old man left early or called off without someone to replace him, the clinic had to be closed.
Not a way to run a twenty-four hour clinic.
Besides annoying, it made them all look bad.
Climbing off the bike, he walked with Book and Hemlock as they headed into the bar. Muffled voices were all around but he wasn’t paying any attention to them. His mind was far away from his brothers. He was thinking of a dark-haired vixen—a woman that was causing him sleepless nights.
He needed a change, something to shake things up. Maybe he should bend his nurse over an exam room table and get her out of his system. That would shake things up.
“Razor, shot?”
He nodded his head as he took the shot, and beer handed to him, he needed to get his head out of his ass.
Tossing back the Tequila, he headed for the bar and another round.
Taking a seat he spoke to Book about the work he wanted to do on his bike.
Glancing at his phone as it lit up, Razor saw Lottie had messaged him.
Book chuckled, seeing it was Lottie again. “I’ll let you talk to the vixen while I grab us a pool table,” Book said, continuing to chuckle as he walked off.
Razor shook his head at the comment. Then opened his messages.
Lottie - Razor, I’m home. The door’s locked and I’m headed for a hot bath.
Razor- That’s a lot of information that I’m not sure your boss needs to know.
Lottie- Poor baby, can’t handle me telling you I’m sliding my scrubs down my smooth legs.
Razor- Be careful, sweetheart, I have a great imagination, and I know where you live.
Lottie- Naked and stepping into the tub.
Razor’s next text was interrupted by an image coming through.
It was a picture of Lottie’s legs and feet sticking out of the bubble bath.
Her blood red toenails pierced through the white frothy bubbles.
The next picture was her thighs dotted with bubbles.
The third picture was Lottie holding up a glass of wine smiling.
But what caught his eye was the dark pink nipples that peered out from underneath the bubbles.
She must not have noticed the white foam wasn’t thick enough to keep her covered fully.
It was that or she knew and wanted a reaction from him.
Razor- You, sweetheart, are a tease and need a firm hand on your ass.
Lottie- Hmmm, I’ll have to find a man willing to put me in my place.
Razor- I might know a guy.
Lottie- LOL. You would. Night, boss.
Razor- Night, Lottie.
Little did she know Razor was a man who would put her in her place. On her knees at his feet. Knees spread wide. Palms up resting on her thighs. Head bowed in a submissive pose. The thought of her before him as a submissive had his cock twitching. His thoughts were diving into a dangerous area.
He needed to get that image out of his head.
He reminded himself that Lottie was Sway’s best friend.
She also worked for him. If he came up with one more, it would be a three strikes you’re out.
Adjusting himself he left the bar to shoot a game of pool with the boys.
Hoping that would take his mind off of his sexy nurse. Not likely but a man could hope.
* * *
Lottie sank deeper into the bubble bath with a heavy sigh. “If only he could help her with her distrust with men,” she said out loud.
Flicking the bubbles she took another sip of wine and closed her eyes. She might not be able to be with a man but she sure could dream about the sexy doctor.
