Chapter 7

Chapter Seven

Shoving his Harley onto the bike lift Razor locked it into place.

Music played through the garage as he worked.

His mind was on things like a luscious, tight body and pair of electric green eyes.

It seemed he was becoming obsessed with his nurse.

He thought about going up front to talk to Sway about her best friend, but that would bring unwanted attention to his interest in the pretty raven-haired beauty.

Thinking back on his conversation with her the day they called the cops, he remembered she mentioned needing a vacation. Razor thought he could use a vacation. What the fuck was he thinking? He and Lottie were colleagues not dating.

The bell chime rang out alerting the employees that someone had entered the shop.

Stopping what he was doing, Razor grabbed a rag to wipe off his hands as he walked towards the front desk.

Sway was in the office working, but she didn’t need to do everything.

That’s why there was always a brother around.

Vicious didn’t like leaving his wife by herself with just the shop employees.

Razor didn’t blame him one bit. If it had been his woman, who had been kidnapped, raped, and tortured, he’d have her locked down HARD.

The bell over the door jangled, alerting everyone that a customer was up front. Grabbing a towel he started wiping his hands as he stepped into view of the door.

“Look at this boys, seems the doc is a mechanic now.”

Razor cracked his neck at the three moto-guzzi bums from the clinic. Sway stepped out of the office, her face a mask of boredom. Underneath it was fear and that pissed off Razor.

Tossing the rag he had in his hand onto the counter, Razor signaled for Sway to go back into the office. With his hands on the counter, he stared down the three men merely feet from him. “How can we help you boys today?”

“Hear that boys, this bastard wants to help us,” the gun wielding thug from the clinic said with a little too much attitude.

“Where’s that sexy nurse at, doc? Is she all alone at the clinic?” he added.

Razor’s jaw ticked. If he entertained the comment, they’d know Lottie meant something to him. Knowing it was best to let it go, he crossed his arms flexing his biceps in a show of superior strength. “I asked you what you boys wanted?”

“Wanted to talk to Sway. She around?”

Coming from the back of the shop were two of Sway’s mechanics. Both brandishing metal pipes. “Razor, did these assholes say something about Sway?”

Razor smirked, thinking he might have been mistaken about Sway’s employees as nonviolent individuals. “Yeah, they’re asking for her.”

“Why?” Was their resounding response.

Razor stared down the guy who was running his mouth. He was a few inches shorter than Razor. He waited for the man to get to the point then said, “You got lucky at the clinic boys. Here you won’t.”

“We’re here about getting our bikes worked on. That’s all, doc, but we could always run down to the clinic and visit that sexy nurse from our last visit.” The guy smirked, grabbing his crotch. “Maybe she’d like to have some fun.”

The door opened, Vicious stepped in. Razor hadn’t expected Sway to call him.

But here he was, looking pissed. One second the three guys were popping off about Lottie.

The next they were trying to get out of the way.

Jumping over the counter, Razor grabbed the guy talking shit about Lottie, slamming him into the counter.

The second guy was scrambling to get around the fight. He didn’t get far. He managed to get out the front door but was stopped by Player and Joker who had just pulled up.

“What did you say about my fucking wife?” Vicious asked the third guy as he held him up against the window. If he pushed him against it any harder the window would probably break.

“I didn’t say anything man.” The guy winced as his wound pulled. “I just came for the ride. I swear man.”

“Why did you come in here?” Vicious slammed him against the window cracking the glass. “Speak or you’re going out through the fucking window.”

“They were sent to pick up protection money. I just rode with them.” The guy struggled to get away from Vicious.

Vicious dropped the guy. As the guy tried stepping aside, Vicious punched him in the face sending him back against the glass.

The window shattered under the pressure from the momentum sending the guy falling through it.

With the window already broken, Razor tossed the other guy out of it where he landed on top of his friend.

“You tell your friends this shop is owned by the Royal Bastards. Next time you come around here you show some respect, or you’ll be looking at a dirt bed.” Vicious watched the two men struggling to get off the ground. Player and Joker released their friend with a boot to his ass.

Razor pulled out his phone calling the clinic. When no one picked up he panicked. “I need a ride.”

“My sleds around back,” Vicious told him tossing Razor his bike keys.

“Thanks. I’m headed to check on Lottie, see if she’s at the clinic,” he told Vicious, moving towards the back of the garage.

“What’s going on with Lottie?” Vicious asked.

“They asked about her when they came inside,” Razor said quickly. “No one's answering the phone at the clinic,” he added.

“Player and Joker will go with you in case there’s trouble at the clinic,” Vicious called after Razor who was already half way through the shop heading for the back door. Looking at Player and Joker, he signaled for them to go.

Razor moved through the garage with a primal need to get to Lottie. He pulled out his phone, dialing Lottie. He waited for her to answer. “Lottie.”

“Hello, handsome.”

“Where are you right now?” Razor shoved the back door open, reaching the bike he threw a leg over and settled into the saddle. He just needed to know where she was.

“At the clinic.”

“Is Hemlock there?”

There was something in his voice. It wasn’t a tone she hadn’t heard before. And she did not like it. “No. I’m alone at the moment. Why, what’s going on, Razor?”

“The three guys that were arrested at the clinic just came into the garage. They inquired about you.”

That’s all he had to say to make her nervous. Why would she be on their radar? “I don’t have anything to do with them. I was hiding, remember?”

“I don’t know, but I’m on my way. Lock the place down and set the alarm.”

Lottie hustled from the back of the clinic around the receptionist desk and out to the lobby. Flipping the lock, she turned the open sign off and closed her eyes. The sound of the bike firing up on the line gave her a little relief. “Razor.”

“I’m on my way to you.”

“All right.” Razor yelled for Player and Joker to roll out. When the phone went dead, Lottie set the alarm, then headed towards the back door to check the lock.

Hanging up, Razor shoved his phone into his vest pocket and shifted the bike into gear. They’d have to put boots on the ground at Sway’s. They’d already warned the scorpions to back off or else. Now they were dealing with a group of rice riders thinking they were badass.

Assholes were fucking ballsy. They caught a red light, giving Razor time to settle and think. They should have beat information out of the three idiots. Someone was pushing into the area, and they needed to know who.

When the light turned green the bikes roared down the streets heading toward the clinic.

The fact was, he did not trust the three guys weren’t affiliated with the Scorpions.

If they were, the interaction at the garage could have been a distraction.

While the real threat was to Lottie or the clinic in retaliation.

Rolling on the throttle Razor weaved his way through traffic. He wanted to secure his woman first. His woman. When had he started thinking of Lottie as his woman? Fuck.

Pulling up in front of the clinic he shut down the bike, the engine's rumble fading into the background.

Razor's boots hit the pavement as he climbed off the bike, his eyes scanning the street, muscles coiled like a predator on alert.

He was already moving, long strides eating up the distance between him and something that had caught his attention.

His brothers followed, their heavy footsteps a familiar backdrop. His focus was on getting to Lottie. His instincts sharp as ever, Razor didn’t wait, he just moved, quick and confident.

Ahead of him, a figure appeared on the sidewalk, someone in a hurry.

Razor’s gaze hardened, calculating. Something about the way they moved, the tension in their step, told him they weren’t there to be a friendly.

Not with that sort of urgency in their stride.

Razor’s hand drifted toward his side, fingers brushing the grip of the blade tucked under his jacket.

When they tried getting by, Razor reached out grabbing hold of them, the hood covering their face fell back revealing a young girl. “What are you doing sneaking around the clinic?” he asked her, his voice hard.

“I… I’m looking for my friend.”

“Your friend, you mean your dealer.” He held her as her eyes darted around, showing she was already having withdrawals. “Get going and don’t let us catch you or your dealer around here again.”

Razor let her go and watched as she raced down the street disappearing around the corner leaving Razor standing on the sidewalk.

“All clear around the back,” Player said as he and Joker walked up.

Nodding, Razor headed for the back entrance to the clinic. When he entered, he found a frazzled looking Lottie clutching the phone. It was a far cry from the scalpel wheeling woman from a few weeks before.
