Chapter 44

The flight home was easy. I’m simmering on Gideon’s point of view and stances.

They are definitely direct without bullshit.

It’s no surprise he has been able to grow Real-ity as fast as he has.

He’s methodical and calculated and doesn’t let emotion get involved in his decisions. Well, his business decisions, at least.

A lingering thought persists. He and Adam are so similar when they talk about their work. Do I want to be with another guy who is all business?

Gideon holds my hand in the back of the car. “Thank you for joining me this weekend.”

“Thank you.”

He smiles, playing with my hair. “I’m going to be busy this week. Let’s plan to see each other on Saturday or Sunday?”

“I’d like that.” He leans in, placing a tender kiss on my lips.

“If you need anything, I’m here. When you call, I’ll always answer.”

I scoff. My inner brat is debating the validity of that statement. He has so many high-priority things going on.

“Even in a meeting,” he responds, knowing exactly what my scoff was about. “If you call, I know it means I have to take it.”

“I’ll hold you to that.” I lean over with the intention of giving him a deadly kiss that will make him want more. His hand cups my neck as our tongues and lips get more heated with every movement.

“Dani,” he whispers.

“G.”

“More of this the next time I see you!”

“Deal.”
