Bonus Scene
Lifting the axe high over my head, I brought it down with a swift thwack. The resulting crack as the wood split scratched an itch deep inside me.
I used the back of my arm to wipe my brow, then hit the axe into the giant stump base, where it stayed put. Grabbing the two chunks of cut wood, I took them over to the stacks under the overhang that protected them from the elements.
