Chapter 10 #2
He pressed his forehead against mine. “Don’t worry. There will be time for more later. I promise.”
“I believe you.”
He kissed me and moved away. It took me a second to remember I had been searching for my hairbrush. I walked out into the room and opened up my suitcase. Our trip had barely begun, and it was already one that I was going to remember for the rest of my life.
We were on time for our reservation at The Log Cabin. It was a steakhouse in the heart of downtown Galena that had been there for over forty years. I had some of the best prime rib I’d ever had in my life.
Caleb looked up at me as we finished dinner and raised his glass. “To us.”
I smiled and returned the gesture. “To us.”
When we finished, most of the shops were closed, so we headed back to our hotel. Truth be told, I was wiped after our playtime and my big meal. I was pleased when Caleb suggested we curl up together in bed and watch some television. Within fifteen minutes, I was asleep, my head on his chest.
I woke up the next morning to the click of the door.
“Caleb?” I asked, shooting up in bed. I blinked rapidly, trying to clear the sleep from my eyes.
He walked in, carrying a cup in each hand. “I’m sorry, sweetie. I didn’t mean to wake you. You looked so peaceful, and I wanted to surprise you.”
“It’s okay,” I said as I took a couple of deep breaths, trying to slow down my heartbeat. Once I’d calmed down, I fell back against the mattress.
“Drink this. It will make you feel better,” Caleb said, taking a seat on the side of the bed and handing me one of the cups. “It’s hot chocolate.”
I sat up again and accepted the drink, taking a sip. It was like a delicious, welcome hug.
“Yum.” I took another swig of it. “This tastes much better than typical hotel hot chocolate.”
“That’s because it’s from a local shop. When we go downstairs for breakfast, I can ask where it’s from exactly.”
“Yes, please,” I said.
“Did you sleep well last night?” Caleb asked, taking a sip of his own drink.
“Yes. How about you?”
“I did as well. Is there anything specific you’d like to see today?”
“Not particularly,” I answered, trying to remember all of the information I had learned about the town. “I’d like to walk around Main Street, and maybe in the afternoon we could schedule a tour to see President Grant’s old house? Otherwise, I’m up for anything. How about you?”
“Exactly what you said sounds perfect to me. Do you need some more time to finish waking up, or are you ready to go get breakfast?”
I chuckled. “Seeing as you tried to give me a heart attack first thing this morning, I’m awake and ready. Let me just get some sweats on.”
He made a tsking noise with his tongue and waved his finger at me. “Keep up that sass, and you’ll find yourself with a punished bottom again.”
I rubbed my backside as I remembered the events from yesterday. It was still sensitive in a few places. “No thank you. I’m still recovering from the cane.”
“That’s what I thought.”
I got ready and we headed downstairs. The inn wasn’t overly crowded, but it had a fair number of guests. We ate breakfast, went back up to the room to change, and then drove downtown to walk around.
“This place feels different than Chicago,” Caleb said as we walked.
“There isn’t a sense of being in a rush.
It feels like everyone in the city has a place to be, a train to catch, etcetera.
That’s not the case here,” he continued as we journeyed up the sidewalk, pausing to look at the different storefronts.
“You’re right.” It was an obvious difference, but one I hadn’t put my finger on. “There’s also less noise with no El, no taxis, and fewer cars.”
“Very true.”
“Let's go in here,” I said, motioning to the front of the Galena Book and Paper store window.
He opened the door for me. “After you.”
“Thank you.”
We spent some time in the shop. I could never say no to a bookstore. There was something magical about it. All the stories in one place, so much I could learn. I was excited about what I’d discover.
I ended up purchasing a book by one of my favorite authors, Brené Brown, and some pretty parchment with flowers on it. Caleb bought a couple of books from the finance section.
“As much as I like the laid-back feel here, I don’t think I’d last living up here,” I said as we got back outside and began walking again.
“Me either. It’s nice for a vacation, but not something I could get used to for the rest of my life. I would get bored. Plus, it’d only be a matter of time until you met everyone in town this small, and they’d all know your business. I’m not a fan of that.”
“Neither am I.”
It took us two and a half hours to walk to the end of Main Street and then back down the other side. There were several stores we stopped in along the way—the Galena Canning Company, The Great American Popcorn Company, and Galena’s Kandy Kitchen being my favorites.
By the time we made it back to our car, Caleb and I had two bags in each of our hands. It was a fun shopping trip.
“Would you like to pick something up for lunch and take it back to the hotel, or would you rather eat somewhere in town, Theresa?”
I thought about my options. There had been a few appetizing restaurants on our walk. But I liked the idea of having some downtime in our hotel before our next adventure.
“How about Culver’s? Keep it simple?”
“Works for me. It’s on the way back to our hotel, so even better,” Caleb said, looking at the map on his console.
We picked up our food and then carried everything back to our room. After all the walking we had done, it felt nice to sit and take a load off.
“After this, you’d like to go visit Grant’s house for a tour?” Caleb asked, taking a bite out of his butter burger sandwich.
“Yes, please.”
“All right. Is there anything else you’d like to do while we’re up here?”
I shook my head. “No, thank you. We did the two things I wanted to do here. Is there anything else you’d like to do?”
“I’d be up for taking a soak in the tub this evening, if you are.”
“How can I say no to that?” I chuckled as I took a bite out of my M&M concrete mixer.
“Excellent,” he said with a smirk.
The tour of President Grant’s house was as fascinating as I had anticipated. I learned quite a bit of new information about the former president and the house itself.
We decided that since we were out, we would have an early dinner in town. We ate at the restaurant named Fried Green Tomatoes. My meal was delicious.
By the time we made it back to our room, I was tired. We had done a lot of walking and shopping today. Getting ready for bed and going to sleep sounded like a lovely idea to me.
The sound of running water caught my attention as I turned to see Caleb adjusting the faucets on the bathtub.
“I know we talked about maybe taking a soak tonight, but I’m really beat. I think I’ll take a fast shower and then turn in,” I said, and started to head toward the bathroom.
“No,” Caleb said. I stopped in my tracks and turned my attention back to him. “I know you’re sleepy, but if I let you take a shower, you’re going to do a half-ass job. I won’t allow that for my assistant or girlfriend.”
“Now listen here,” I started, but got distracted when he stepped closer to me, reached for the hem of my shirt, and pulled it over my head. “Hey! What are you doing?” I asked as he unbuttoned my jean capris and pulled them down, along with my panties.
“What does it look like I’m doing, silly? Step out,” he instructed as he guided my clothes off of me. He removed my socks as well. All I had on was my bra.
“Didn’t you hear what I just said?” I asked as he made fast work of the clasp, freeing my breasts.
“Yes, I did,” he said, finally paying attention to me.
“I’m ignoring it, however. As I mentioned earlier, you aren’t going to do a decent job washing yourself, and I won’t have that.
” He pulled his shirt over his head, revealing his muscular upper body.
“Furthermore, the water will help ease any sore muscles you might have from all of our walking today.” As he spoke, he took off his jeans, socks, and boxer shorts.
“Lastly, I want you in the water with me. Have I made myself clear, or do I need to go grab a hairbrush?”
I shook my head. “No, Sir. I understand.”
“Excellent. Come join me,” he ordered as he turned the faucets off, stepped inside the tub, and sat down.
I did as he asked, slowly lowering into the water, and had to hold back a groan. The heat was helping to ease my tense muscles, and despite my exhaustion, I was aroused by his act of dominance.
“This is a perfect end to a perfect day,” he said as my back was pressed against his front. He was hard, and his shaft pressed against my butt. I shivered as I remembered the dream I had had a few months ago.
“Are you cold?”
“No,” I said, appreciating his concern. “I was just remembering a dream I had.”
“I thought you told me you tend not to remember your dreams.”
“I don’t.”
“Then this one must’ve been pretty special. Tell me about it,” he commanded as he started to rub my shoulders.
“Well,” I said, closing my eyes and letting my head fall back against his chest. “We were playing around in bed. One thing led to another, and you only allowed me to come if I promised to let you claim my asshole.”
“Really?” he asked, pausing his massage.
“Yes,” I said as I wiggled my shoulders to get his attention back on them. It worked.
“Have you ever done any anal play?” he asked, moving his attention from my shoulders to my neck.
“No. I’ve read about it, but that’s all.”
“Is it something you’d be interested in?”
“I hadn’t ever given it much thought,” I admitted. Sure, it had been hot to dream about, but I didn’t think it’d become a reality.
“I think you should,” he said, and I didn’t have to turn my head to know he had a large grin on his face.
“I’m taking it you’re a fan?” I asked with a smile.
“Yes. There’s something thrilling about making such a taboo area my own,” he said as he began to kiss the side of my neck.
