Chapter 3

Chapter three

Olive

Ididn’t think it would get worse, but it has.

The past two weeks have been nothing short of brutal.

Don Farrelli has taken his threat to find Aurelia a husband very seriously, causing the volatility between the two to grow.

My backside has paid the price. Tonight’s extravagant party is supposed to be the culmination of the events, the day he announces her forced engagement.

Wincing, I push back against the wall and do my best to fade into the background as three scary assholes circle Aurelia, salivating over her like a prized piece of meat. Guilt sits heavily in my gut as I do nothing to help her, but the hungry looks on their faces keep me rooted to the spot.

Plus, what could I do? Stepping in would earn me yet another strapping, and with the lustful way the Don has been watching me...

A shudder rolls through my body, and I refocus on what’s happening around me.

Being distracted could be my damnation. With my head bowed, I peek out from under my lashes as Don Farrelli spins Aurelia around by the arm for the men’s viewing pleasure.

My poor mistress is clad only in her bra and panties, barely enough to hide her private bits.

Then again, I guess that’s the point. Entice all the assholes.

“As you can see, she’s healthy, unblemished, and untouched, but we need not keep it that way.” He chuckles, turning her so these three creeps can ogle her backside. One reaches out, pinching her hip, and she squeals, twisting away.

“Seems like she’s got some spunk.” I’m not sure what his name is, but I know the look on his face well—inherent cruelty mixed with the need to inflict pain. Don Farrelly must see it, too. How can he not, when the same desires are mirrored in his own face?

“She does, and she wants nothing to do with you!” Aurelia hisses, spinning around and crossing her arms over her chest. Don Farrelli was very clear that she had to do as she was told. So, the second the words fly from her lips, I can already hear the whistle of leather.

Her breaking only increases the evil man’s glee. He grabs her chin, twisting it up forcefully. “When you’re mine, you’ll never dare speak like that!” She whimpers when he flexes his fingers, leaving indents along the smooth skin at her jawline.

“Her fire is part of what makes her such a great potential spouse! It will take some time to break her, but, oh, the joy of doing it!” Don Farrelli declares, and all three men nod.

The room swirls, and my heart thunders. “And as you agreed, you’ll send progress videos of her transformation.

I want to see it all to ensure the little bitch is getting the discipline she requires. ”

As soon as the opportunity arises, I will let Miss Kat know the specifics her father has shared about Aurelia’s fate. I only hope she’ll be able to do something in time. Though this party is to end with an engagement, he has said nothing about when the nuptials will take place.

“Is her hymen intact?” Another man steps forward, eyeing Aurelia with delight. Although everyone is scurrying around, getting ready for the ball downstairs. I was forced to stand here and witness my mistress’s humiliation.

“How do you usually punish her?” The third finally speaks. He doesn’t seem as interested in Aurelia as the other two, but there’s a darkness surrounding him that scares me to my core.

Don Farrelli smiles and gestures toward the chairs in the room. “Please, let’s sit down. There is much to discuss before I decide between three such fine offers.” The men arrange themselves comfortably, as though discussing normal business, not someone’s life.

Pigs.

Braving a glance at Aurelia, I notice two foot soldiers now guarding her.

No help is coming from them.

“Now, to answer the first question: yes, her hymen is intact and checked by my doctor regularly. However, whoever wins her hand will, of course, be allowed to inspect it before any final deposits are made.” I’ve been there for every dehumanizing, painful exam.

Why would a man do this to his own flesh and blood? Aurelia has done nothing but bring light into this world.

“As for the second question: her remaining unblemished before marriage was important to me. However, Aurelia has a weakness. She forms attachments quite easily.” His eyes search the curtain line, and my mouth goes dry.

“Over here, Olive.” He waves me forward. “This girl is Aurelia’s maid.”

The thumping of my heart is a death toll as I march toward my doom.

There are two guards manning the door; any chance of escape is futile.

And embarrassing the Don in mixed company would surely mean a bullet through the skull.

Shaking, I get closer. When I’m within his reach, Matteo’s hand snaps out, grabbing my wrist and yanking me onto his lap.

“Often, just the threat of harming someone she cares about is more than enough to keep Aurelia in line. However, if you enjoy darker vices, as I do, watching her cry as I dole out punishments on her friend is... titillating. There’s some time for a demonstration.”

Now it’s my turn to be the center of scrutiny. All eyes in the room bore into me, making me wish I could curl up and die.

Maybe the bullet would be better.

His hands fly to the buttons of my shirt, and he makes quick work of them while I sit on his lap, as stiff as a board.

I don’t know what he’s going to do; this is unlike anything he’s done before.

All I know is I’ll close my eyes and bear it the way I must. Tears gather on my lashes, spilling down my cheeks.

“Leave her be,” Aurelia snaps. “I’ve done everything you asked. Don’t harm her.”

“See how effective it is?” He chortles, yanking my shirt from the waist of my skirt before giving it a hard pull. The sides split open, and cold air hits my skin. Thankfully, my dark bra is thick and provides good coverage. “Make sure to hold my wayward daughter, Malcolm.”

The guard grunts when Aurelia elbows him in the ribs. I appreciate the attempt, but her flopping around only serves to give her potential husbands erections. Perverts.

“Will the little maid be joining her mistress in her new home?” the tallest of the three asks, his eyes trained on me as Don Farrelli runs his finger along the cup of my bra. Wanting to be anywhere else, I bite my lip and stay stiff, praying something will change. Something will stop this.

Please, God. Please, Kat. Somebody. Anybody.

“It might be possible to arrange that. But I’ll need to break in her virgin cunt myself first.” Dread pools in my stomach as his disgusting cock twitches against my bruised ass. The ramifications of his words sink in.

This will never end.

Despair washes over me, my chin dipping to my chest when a sudden bang startles everyone in the room.

“Sir. It’s Domino. It’s urgent,” a familiar voice shouts through the door.

Domino is one of the highest-level henchmen in the Farrelli Syndicate.

If he’s concerned, something is very wrong.

In an instant, the demeanor of the room shifts.

Don Farrelli stands, dumping me to the ground in a heap to grab his gun.

The rest of the room follows suit, pulling out the weapons at their hips.

“Come in!” The door thumps open, and two enormous men enter: Domino and someone I’ve never seen before.

“There’s been a threat. We have reason to believe it’s credible. Vans with armed men are heading this way. The soldiers have been deployed to head them off, but we must get you to safety, sir.” Domino’s urgency has everyone taking note.

“What about my children?” Don Farrelli asks, not bothering to glance at Aurelia, his youngest. “Katarina and Dante are supposed to be here.”

“Already contacted and heading to a safe house,” Domino replies, stepping out of the room and scanning the hallway for threats. “We need to move now. Only four can come with me now.”

“We aren’t being left behind,” one of Aurelia’s potential fiancés shouts vehemently, and the other two nod, crowding forward.

“Follow me.” Domino leads the way, soldiers falling in around Don Farrelli to keep him safe from any gunfire. The other three flee without a spare glance.

“There’s a small safe room behind the bookcase,” the final soldier says to Domino’s guard before taking off down the hallway.

We’re being left here?

My ears ring with fear, and my heart thunders. Turning, I reach for Aurelia, trying to find any port in a storm.

Are we going to die?
