Her Story, My Soul

Prologue

"Two Lives, One Body"

The rhythmic tap of rain against glass mixed with the low hum of ambient jazz a playlist Yuna never updated, yet it always seemed to play when she needed. Her penthouse was sleek, minimalist and cold, like everything else in her life that wasn't work.

She sat at her desk, a tablet in one hand the other swirling a glass of untouched red wine. Spreadsheets and projections filled the screen, glowing numbers dancing across her tired eyes.

The deal had closed, finally.

Weeks of negotiation, power plays, backroom threats, and a touch of public manipulation. All wrapped in a perfect bow and delivered by the one woman who never lost.

With a sigh, she leaned back, finally letting her mind drift. Her eyes wandered to her tablet's open tabs. Among them, nestled between legal documents and market analysis, was a digital copy of a trashy romance novel she'd downloaded on a whim.

She was in 24th chapters now.

And she was annoyed.

Not by the heroine with its pure-hearted poverty-stricken girl with a heart of gold. Not even by the narcissistic male lead who thought the world revolved around his smirk. No, it was the villainess that got under Yuna's skin.

A nineteen year old lady. Spoiled since birth but vain and petty.

Richer like God and dumber than sin. A caricature of every heiress Yuna had crushed in real life.

She was written as the obstacle, nothing more.

Doomed to fall and meant to be hated. The ultimate lesson in karma for being born privileged.

But what irked Yuna most wasn't the cliché.

It was the waste.

"You have power, wealth. The status and all you do is chase a man who doesn't even want you?" Yuna muttered aloud, narrowing her eyes at the page.

"If I were her, I'd crush those protagonists myself."

She scoffed, tossing the tablet onto the bed beside her. Outside, lightning flashed across the sky. The thunder rolled in slow and deep, like a warning. Yuna stood, stretching the tension from her shoulders. The long hours were catching up. She hadn't eaten since noon.

Hadn't slept in— what, thirty hours?

The room suddenly tilted. She blinked, confused.

Her wine glass slipped from her fingers, shattering against the marble floor. Yuna gasped, stumbling back as the world went dark around the edges.

Her knees gave out.

Darkness rushed in like a wave.
