Ch. 6

After the call, Yuna waited for nearly thirty minutes before the spare uniform finally arrived. She quickly changed into it and folded the stained blouse neatly before setting it aside.

By the time she made her way to her third class, Painting and Aesthetic Studies, she was back in a clean uniform and, thankfully, no longer smelled like coffee.

Inside the studio, students chatted softly as they made their way to their respective seats. Yuna picked a seat near the back once again and began tying her apron neatly. She examined the tools laid out on the table before glancing at the blank canvas in front of her.

She had never been the artistic type, and she doubted Selene was either. Honestly, she didn't understand why Selene had chosen this course out of all the options available.

"Wait... this painting class..." she thought.

Ah, right. I remember now.

This was from Chapter Ten of the novel. The chapter was meant to showcase the female lead's artistic talent. Lina's artwork had received praise from both the professor and the students.

And, naturally, Selene had thrown a tantrum because Lina's painting was far better than hers.

Yuna clicked her tongue.

No... that's how the novel described it.

But as a reader, she had seen it differently. To her, Selene had simply been jealous. And that outburst became the beginning of her reputation as the jealous villainess.

Today's subject was a girl sleeping at a desk. The model sat in the center of the studio, already posed, while the students arranged themselves around her with their canvases and painting supplies.

As Yuna prepared her materials, her gaze wandered across the room. She spotted Lina near the front, happily chatting with the student beside her. Then Lina suddenly paused.

As if sensing someone's gaze on her, she glanced over her shoulder. Her eyes widened slightly when she saw Selene. Apparently, she hadn't realized they were blockmates in this course as well.

Most of the students in the room were already familiar to Lina, but since Selene was a transfer student, this was likely the first time she had noticed her here. When their eyes met, Lina was the first to lower her head in greeting.

The embarrassment from the cafeteria incident still seemed to linger. A second later, she quickly turned her attention back to her canvas. Yuna, however, barely paid it any mind. She simply looked away and focused on her own painting.

"Beautiful work, Miss Grey. You have a real gift for this." The professor smiled as he examined Lina's painting.

"If you continue developing your talent, I'm certain your work could sell for a considerable amount in the future."

The students murmured in agreement, many of them glancing at Lina's canvas with admiration.

"She really is good," Yuna thought.

No wonder the author made her the protagonist. She's practically perfect.

Yuna glanced at her own canvas, and the corner of her lips twitched in embarrassment. Her painting looked like something a five-year-old would make.

No, scratch that.

There were probably five-year-olds out there who could paint better than her.

"Whatever. This painting class is just a side quest. Let the protagonist do her thing. I'm not here to steal her spotlight anyway." Yuna thought with a smug look.

Let's just make sure the next scene doesn't use me as the villain again. I seriously need to start staying away from the main characters before I get labeled as the villainess of this story.

Satisfied with her plan, she continued painting in silence. Unfortunately for her, the moment she decided to stay out of the story was the exact moment the story began changing.
