Chapter 3 #3
The show resumed, and he put his arm around my shoulder and pulled me in closer to him.
I flashed back to when I walked up to his apartment, sweating through all of my pores, and hoped that I was dry and smell-free.
He snuggled me in closer, so I must have been tolerable.
After my nerves settled down, I realized it was really nice.
I liked being close to him. It felt cozy and comfortable and familiar.
During the next commercial break, I took a risk and looked up at him.
He was looking right back at me, and his eyes were burning with intensity.
It felt like he might make a move, and I was filled with anticipation.
Should I be kissing him this soon? Will I give him the wrong idea? Maybe I want to give him that idea.
“Cassie.” He moved a little closer. “I'm dying to kiss you.”
“Kiss me,” I replied.
He eased me back into the couch, leaned over me, and kissed me. This was not a normal kiss. I was completely swept up in the moment and couldn’t get enough of him. I had been on the fence about my attraction to him. This moment solidified that this guy majorly turned me on.
He gently pulled back from our kiss and said, “The show is back on.”
My heart was racing, and I was practically panting. I know what I said before about not accepting interruptions during Thursday night television, but my focus was completely on him. He settled back on the couch, and I tried to focus on the TV, but all I could think about was continuing that kiss.
I took a risk and peeked over at him, and he had the cutest smirk on his face.
“Having trouble concentrating?” he asked.
I knew this was my moment to be bold and take a chance.
I grabbed the remote from the table and turned the TV off.
I leaned over on top of him and brought my mouth to his.
Our lips crashed together, picking up right where we left off.
I let out a little gasp when he pulled me onto him so I was straddling his lap.
We were deep in a heavy makeout session, our hands roaming all over each other's bodies, when he pulled away.
“Cassie, I'm so attracted to you, and I really like you. I want you. But I also know we just met, and I don’t want to rush things with you. If you want to stop, tell me to stop. If you don’t want to stop, I'm just as on board for that,” he whispered, with heavy breaths.
“I don’t want to stop,” I whispered in his ear.
He grabbed my face and resumed our soul-melting kiss. I felt his hands come under my shirt and hold me at the waist. Slowly, his hands moved up my body until they rested around my rib cage, just beneath my bra. I felt his thumb brush over the cup of my bra as he kissed his way down my neck.
That’s when the front door to his apartment swung open with a loud couple busting through the door.
Listen, I am a runner, and I am decently fast. But I have never moved faster in my life than I did when I dismounted his lap and returned to the couch in a seated position.
Every place that had been sweating earlier was reactivated, and I just knew my face was beet red.
The couch faced the TV, away from the dining area where they had entered, so I did not have to make eye contact.
Luke chuckled under his breath and whispered, “I didn’t think they would be here. I’m sorry. I’ll go see what their plans are for the evening.”
He grabbed my hand and kissed it, and then hopped up to go talk to the person I presumed was his roommate and his roommate’s girlfriend.
This was my moment to stop panting, stop blushing, and stop perspiring.
I gave myself a mental pep talk about how it was going to look weird if I kept sitting here with my back to everyone in the apartment.
I put on my brave face and walked into the dining room to introduce myself.
Luke saw me and gave me a killer smile, not at all fazed by the awkwardness of the interrupted heavy petting.
“Cassie, this is my roommate Tim and his girlfriend Sydney. She goes by Syd. Guys, this is Cassie, the girl I told you about.”
Tim started apologizing right away. “We’re sorry for barging in.
We knew you guys were hanging out here tonight, so we were going to go to Syd’s, but then her roommate made plans with her boyfriend.
Roommates? What a pain, huh? Luke, I tried to call and give you a heads up, but you didn’t answer, so I took my chances. Sorry if we interrupted…anything.”
“It’s nice to meet you guys,” I said. “I was actually going to head out, so it’s not a big deal. Thanks for dinner, Luke. It was really great.”
“Hold on, Cassie, you don’t have to leave,” Luke said as I started reaching for my things.
“I really should, but thanks again for a great night.
I started walking to the door, and Luke followed me. He walked out into the hallway with me and shut the door behind him.
“I’m sorry, again. I didn’t expect them to come home. They're really chill and good friends of mine, so you don’t have to feel uncomfortable being here while they’re here,” he explained.
“It’s ok. I should probably go home and take a cold shower,” I wink, trying to give off sex kitten vibes rather than rodent scurrying away vibes.
“When can I see you again?” he asked, pulling me in for a hug.
“I’m pretty busy. I’ll have to look at my schedule, but I think I'm open all weekend,” I answered back.
He pulled himself back from our embrace and then leaned forward for a quick kiss.
“Okay, go hit the showers, and I’ll call you tomorrow.”
