Chapter 10 #2

I didn’t really need time to get ready, but I did need a minute to myself to take a few deep breaths and be grateful I made it through the night.

It could have been so much worse. Justin seems like a nice guy.

I’m thinking he might be a bit younger than me.

Jeffrey is the older brother. And Justin’s local, so who knows.

I pause my train of thought to berate myself for thinking of turning a Mexico situation into something long-term.

I think he likes me, though. At least enough to let me sleep in his room.

I arrived for breakfast. Cora, Justin, and Jeffrey were already there waiting for me, sipping on coffee. I sat down as soon as I got there, and they all stood up and left to get their food.

There is an awkward moment at an all-inclusive resort breakfast buffet when you sit down at your table and immediately stand back up to go get your food.

So, just like my predecessors, I stood up to go get my food.

I drank enough last night that my stomach was a little agitated, so I opted for a smoothie.

Jeffrey and Cora came back with mimosas, and Justin came back with one of everything at the buffet.

“I can’t eat anything yet,” Cora complained. “Just liquids for me today until I feel better.”

“I think you’re supposed to drink clear liquids to alleviate whatever ails you, not champagne and orange juice.”

“Yeah, well, you aren’t a doctor, Cass. This method is tried and true, and I’ll be back to my normal vivacious self by noon.” She nods to Jeffrey. “See, Jeffrey is giving it a trial run.”

Jeffrey grimaced and leaned back in his chair with a groan. “I'm just biding my time until I can go lie in a lounge chair and take a nap on a flat surface. I am too old for this shit.”

Justin chuckled and said, "Everyone always goes too hard on their first night in Mexico. You’ll recover. You’re thirty-five, not sixty-five.”

At this statement, Cora choked on her mimosa and did a full spit-take. “You're thirty-five?” she shouted at him.

He dropped his head into his hands and rubbed his face. “Yeah…how old are you? Please don’t tell me something that’s going to send me to prison when I get home.”

“You’re safe. I’m legal. I’m twenty-four. What a score for you.”

“It is. I’ll be very proud of myself later—when I can think and see straight.”

I leaned over to Justin and asked, “I know you’re the younger brother, but how old are you?”

“I’m twenty-six. My parents tell me I was a surprise blessing, which is code for ‘drunken mishap’. We’ve got two other siblings older than Jeffrey. The couple who got married are from our neighborhood, so we kind of fell in the middle age-wise. How old are you?”

“Just about twenty-nine.”

“Ooh, so I slept with an older woman last night?”

“‘Shared a room’ with an older woman. Yes, you did.”

“BORING,” Cora called out. “I’m done here. I’m going to grab us some chairs by the water—two chairs, to be clear, Cass.”

Cora and I spent the rest of the day by the ocean, watching the bright, aqua waves roll in, searching for seashells, and reading our books.

It seemed our bodies needed a reset after our wild antics the night before.

I saw the brothers a couple of times from a distance, but they never made their way over.

Probably because Cora made it pretty clear she wasn’t spending the whole day with her overnight visitor.

I felt a little bummed by this, then scolded myself for having a little crush on the young man I shared a room with last night.

We decided to hit up the silent karaoke party in the bar that night to get out of our rooms and burn off some energy dancing.

As soon as we walked in, I saw the brothers hanging out there with other people from the wedding party.

Cora caught my gaze and sighed. She clearly wasn’t interested in hanging out with them.

But I guess that’s a hard battle she has to face, sleeping with someone at a small resort that is going to be there for the next couple of days.

Justin saw me and came over right away. “Why don’t you guys come hang out with our friends? They are the best. They also busted us at breakfast with you guys and have been badgering us all day about our relationship status,” he laughed.

“Sure, Cora would love to!” I replied, to which I got a very indiscreet punch in the arm.

We spent the night with their friends drinking, dancing, and sharing stories about growing up in the Midwest. Cora was actively ignoring Jeffrey, and he was actively making it very difficult for her.

Justin had been by my side all night, even accompanying me to the bathroom when I wasn’t sure where it was.

As we were walking back from the bathroom, Justin said, “I have an idea. I can’t help but notice how awkward Cora is being around Jeffrey tonight.

I think we should go back to your room, put the Do Not Disturb sign on, and force them together for another evening.

One, it’s good payback. Two, Jeffrey definitely wants another night with her.

He’s giving off a bit of a desperate vibe, so I’m trying to be a good wingman. ”

Now, I would normally never do such a thing. However, I had imbibed enough that it sounded crazy enough to work. I gave Justin an evil grin. “Let’s do it.”

Justin and I scurried off toward our room and seemed to go undetected by our siblings. When we got there, we slipped the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door and latched the chain to ensure they couldn’t get in. After everything was taken care of, we sat in awkward silence.

Justin looked at me and said, “Now what do we do? Watch TV in Spanish or order room service? From what I can tell, those are our only two options for entertainment.”

“Option number three. Let’s hit the minibar for drinks and snacks,” I replied.

We worked together to create a picnic on the bed. Then we started strategizing what we were going to do when they came to the room.

“I could walk over and peek out the door crack with no shirt on and tell them we are busy?” Justin suggested.

“That’s a great idea! There is also loud moaning and slamming the headboard into the wall.”

He laughed and agreed. “Let’s start with that, and then if they don’t go away, I’ll engage ‘Operation No Shirt’ for the confrontation. If they still don’t go away, we’ll just call security.”

Around 1:00 a.m., I was pretty tipsy and extremely tired. We were both lying back on the bed, yawning and trying to keep our eyes open.

“I don’t think they are coming, and I’m so tired. What do we do?”

Justin shrugged and replied, “Who knows what they are up to. You can go to sleep; I’ll do night watch.”

“My hero,” I yawned and tucked myself under the covers.

At 5:09 a.m., my bladder woke me up. I turned over and saw Justin fast asleep next to me.

I had stolen all of the covers, and he was curled up in a ball next to me, trying to steal some of my body heat.

Either Justin handled the confrontation without me, or those two rascals never showed up.

I looked at my phone and had a message from Cora that said: “in JJ’s room.

” In conclusion, those sluts ruined our prank by just going off together.

I got up to use the bathroom and swished some mouthwash around so my leftover alcohol breath didn’t kill the friendly stranger in my bed.

When I got back to bed, I pulled some blankets over my bed partner and climbed in next to him.

I could have gone over to the other bed, but that was Cora and Jeffrey’s sex bed.

I didn’t want to sleep where they had mated.

I snuggled into the covers, and soon I felt Justin’s arm come around my waist and pull my backside against his chest. I froze for a second, wondering if he was even awake when he whispered, “Thanks for the covers, but I’m still cold; I need your body heat to survive the night. ”

It felt good to have the heat of a man next to me in bed, so I didn’t object.

It wasn’t long before he was sliding his fingers across my stomach.

He slowly moved his hands up my shirt onto my bare stomach.

I couldn’t tell where this was going, but my whole body clenched in anticipation.

How sex starved is a person that they get turned on by a belly rub?

He made his way up my sides near my ribs.

I had changed into some pajamas and taken my bra off before we had settled into bed, so his hand was inching closer to where I wanted it.

I rocked back toward him, rubbing my backside against him.

I could tell from the way his body was responding that I was not getting the wrong idea.

He whispered, “Give me a second,” and went toward the bathroom.

He had taken off his jeans at some point and walked away from me in boxer briefs and a t-shirt.

I heard him moving things around in the bathroom.

I tried to decide whether to stay in my fake sleeping position, with my back turned away, or find something more inviting.

While I was flopping around on the bed, trying to decide, he walked back toward me.

The curtains were shut, leaving the room very dark, but still I could see his gaze on me.

He climbed back into bed and pulled me close to him.

I could smell mint on his breath as he leaned in to kiss me.

After a light make-out session, he pulled back and said, “Is this okay?”

“I’m usually sleeping at this time of day, but I’m willing to make an exception.”

He began kissing down my neck and onto my chest. As he started to unbutton the front of my pajamas, I reached for the bottom hem of his shirt and urged him to pull it up over his head.

He continued to make his way down my pajama shirt, pulling it open to expose my bare chest. He leaned over me and kissed his way down my neck, chest, and belly, teasing the waistband of my pajama shorts with his fingertips.
