Chapter 3

Chapter Three

KENZO ATALLAH

This had to be a sick fucking joke. There was no way Fate could be this cruel to me.

There was no way in fucking hell I was seeing who I thought I was seeing.

It started with the familiar scent of a mix of vanilla and apple hitting my nose on my way back home from the Kismet pack.

While deep in my thoughts, I took the back way home, not even noticing that I took that route.

Once I got about halfway to my cave, my senses were overtaken by that familiar scent, but there was no odor, intriguing me even more.

I couldn’t stop my bear from shifting out and taking control to go after that scent, and now, I wished I hadn't. I felt like I was losing my mind. What I was looking at didn’t make any sense to my bear or human.

We sat there dumbfounded and trying to process what we were looking at.

Taking a deep breath, we inhaled the scent as we watched the female in front of us standing on her front porch with wild curly hair blowing every time the wind blew. Her chestnut brown skin had a beautiful golden glow that made her look like an angel. Her face sent chills down our spine…

She looked just like Bellum.

But there were differences. Her lips were big and succulent like we loved.

Bellum’s lips were slightly thinner. Her piercing green eyes could be seen a mile away.

Bellum had light green eyes that looked dull compared to the female in front of us.

She was also thick, meaty, and succulent.

Bellum was on the slimmer side. My bear hated that.

Being a Bear shifter meant I was naturally larger, and having the Atallah bloodline meant I was even bigger than the average Bear shifter.

Needless to say, we wanted our mate to be thick.

We needed to be able to hold onto the extra curves when we fucked our mate.

We wanted to be sure our mate could handle all of our dick.

Fate was very generous in that area, and it was something we often worried about with Bellum.

Crunch!

Looking at my paws, I realized I had stepped forward in my anxiousness and stepped on a leaf, causing the Bellum look alike to look around, frantically trying to see if she was alone.

Everything in me wanted to reveal myself, but a part of me felt like I was losing my mind and the female in front of me wasn’t real. She couldn’t be…

I felt like a piece of shit. I shouldn’t have sent my fated mate away.

I knew what she was dealing with, and granted, she hadn’t been the best mate, but as her mate, it was my duty to help her get over whatever she was going through.

Knowing how vulnerable Bellum was with us not being fully mated, I should have made her go with me more instead of leaving her alone for hours at a time.

I let my own feelings overshadow our mating bond.

I was embarrassed by the fated mate Fate had given me.

Many shifters would have been grateful for their fated mates, no matter their background, but I allowed my pride to lead me when my love should have been doing the leading.

For the last hour, I had been beating myself up for making Bellum leave.

I shifted into my bear, and we took off down the mountain in search of our mate.

My bear wasn’t too excited, but he knew we should have handled the situation.

I followed Bellum’s distinct scent. I didn’t know too much about her sister Blossom aside from the fact that something about her didn’t sit right with my human or bear, but as a bear, I was naturally more cautious of strangers.

It took me a while to get used to new people. I brushed those feelings off.

Once we were at the edge of the Kismet packlands, I saw two figures in the distance and slowed from our running pace to a light jog.

I was able to make out Bellum and Blossom, but it looked like they were arguing.

Sitting still and keeping ourselves hidden in the tall grass, we focused on the conversation.

“Blossom, I can’t do that,” Bellum said, sounding as if she’d been crying.

“You’re a fucking fool. You have loyalty to others who have given you nothing but their asses to kiss. You see how easily Yves threw you away when that red-headed bitch showed up? After everything you’d done for his ungrateful ass,” Blossom spat while throwing her hands in the air angrily.

“That’s his fated mate. I should have never overstepped my boundaries. As pack members, it is our job to support the pack.”

“Fucking brainwashed idiot. All that pack shit is nothing but bullshit. They want us to be their servants while they get to live the high life with Fate favoring them. We get fed breadcrumbs. I refuse to live that life. I deserve better. I deserve power with those brothers groveling at my feet… I want Delcan to personally be forced to serve me!” Blossom yelled as she began pacing back and forth.

“You’re still mad because Delcan rejected you?

” Bellum asked with compassion in her voice.

“India is his fated mate. I know it’s hard to accept it, but when you find your fated mate, it will all make sense.

I can admit I felt betrayed when Zamiyah first came, but once I found Kenzo, I understood everything.

The love from your mate is indescribable.

They’re your other half, and nothing can ever compare to that love. ”

Blossom let out a loud, boisterous laugh.

“You get dumber and dumber every time you open your mouth. India isn’t his fated mate.

She doesn’t even like Delcan. She's there to keep him distracted until we can find that purple-eyed bitch. Besides, I found someone stronger and better than Delcan. The Tsar is far better than Delcan could ever be. I guess a—”

Bellum letting out a gasp cut Blossom off from her speech.

“How could you betray our pack after they took us in? Accepted us when our own pack and many others wouldn’t allow us to step foot in their territory because of what our aunt did.

Blossom, you have to tell our Alphas what is going on.

This isn’t right,” Bellum pleaded, sounding like her voice was cracking.

“Fuck them. They’ll be dead soon,” Blossom said uncaringly.

“I’m going to tell them,” Bellum confidently replied.

“You aren’t. You can’t. You can’t even keep your own fated mate. All I have to do is put you in a room full of dicks, and you’ll be preoccupied forever,” Blossom taunted Bellum while leering directly in her face.

Feeling our mate’s fear was pissing us off. There was only so much more we would be able to handle before we interfered.

“You’re wrong about me. All those things about me may have been true in the past. I was that wolf.

After seeing the pain I caused my mate today, I vowed to never hurt him again.

I love Kenzo, and I don’t deserve him, but Fate decided I was worthy enough to have him.

I’m going to do everything in my power to prove my worthiness to him.

You can hold onto all the hate and be fooled by whoever is feeding you lies. I refuse to live like that.”

“You’d rather be a slave to Fate?”

“I’d rather be free with Fate and the love of my mate.”

“You keep speaking on this mate, but where is he? He didn’t hesitate to kick you to the curb. You’re loyal to him, but he’s nowhere around you!” Blossom said with her arms extended outward as she screamed.

Shifting, I stood to my full height. “I’m right here,” I said, startling both of them.

“And I’m sorry for making you leave. I love you, Bellum, and we're going to get through this.” Bellum looked at me with so much love and adoration, if I wasn’t able to feel her feelings, her eyes would have told me everything she felt.

“Kenzo,” Bellum said as I took off in a full sprint toward her. A look of confusion filled her face, then nothing as I watched in despair as her head snapped to the side in an ungodly manner.

“Bellllluuum!!!” I screamed, my heart filling with pain while watching her body limply fall. Using all my might, I caught her body before it could hit the ground. While cradling her in my arms and staring down at her lifeless eyes, my heart broke.

“Helloo.”

Hearing the sweet voice that sounded like music to our ears brought me back from Bellum’s lifeless eyes to the eyes full of life in front of me. She looked around one more time, then took her wagon and hurried in the opposite direction of me.

Of course, we followed her. We couldn’t not follow her.

I was sure my bear would have lost his mind if I tried to do anything but follow her.

Not that I would want to do anything else.

We could smell her arousal, the sweet smell of her pussy dripping, apparently, for no reason, but I hoped we were the reason.

Just knowing our mate’s pussy was slick and we weren’t there to relieve her aching pussy sent an uncontrollable desire to possess her through me.

It was a feeling I had longed for when Bellum was around.

We loved her because Bellum was given to us by Fate, but there was a longing that wasn’t there.

Bellum was tolerated because of who she was to us.

This woman in front of us, we wanted to possess as our own, to lock her away from the world and keep her to ourselves.

Her beauty captivated us to the point that we could sit and stare at her for hours and hours.

Her voice was the key to our hearts. Just to hear her speak, we would give her everything.

She was everything, but in the same breath, she had us second guessing everything we thought we knew.
