STORM

Grandpa used to tell me...

"Never follow another captain's wake."

"Find your own course."

No one slept.

Not really.

Not aboard Sea Whisper.

The yacht slipped quietly across the moonlit Pacific.

Inside the bridge...

Coffee replaced sleep.

Questions replaced conversation.

Hope replaced fear.

Ben stood over the chart table.

He spread Ivy's photographs beside the journal.

"The compass."

"The code."

"The dock."

"The lighthouse keeper."

He tapped each clue.

"They all point to one place."

Scott nodded.

"We just don't know where."

Nathan suddenly looked toward the chart cabinet.

Storm noticed.

"What?"

Nathan hesitated.

"There used to be..."

He stopped.

"A chart."

Storm opened the cabinet.

Hundreds of neatly rolled charts filled the shelves.

Nathan searched each one.

His movements became quicker.

More urgent.

"No..."

Storm frowned.

"What are you looking for?"

Nathan whispered...

"James kept one chart hidden from everyone."

Hazel looked confused.

"Hidden where?"

Nathan slowly walked toward Grandpa's captain's chair.

He smiled sadly.

"He always said..."

'A captain should never sit on his secrets.'

Storm blinked.

"Grandpa said that."

Nathan nodded.

"He meant it literally."

Ben immediately knelt beside the old chair.

He ran his fingertips beneath the polished teak.

Nothing.

Scott checked the armrests.

Nothing.

Ward quietly reached behind the chair.

His hand brushed against something...

Metal.

He looked at Storm.

"I think I found something."

Every heart seemed to stop.

Ward pressed gently.

A soft...

Click.

Echoed through the bridge.

The back panel beneath the captain's chair eased open less than an inch.

Storm stared.

Grandpa had built a hidden compartment...

Into the captain's chair itself.

Nathan closed his eyes.

A smile touched his face.

"You impossible old sailor."

Ward carefully opened the compartment.

Inside...

Lay a single rolled chart.

Wrapped in oilcloth.

Still perfectly dry.

No one reached for it.

Storm stepped forward.

Her hands trembled.

On the outside...

In James Sinclair's unmistakable handwriting...

Were five simple words.

For My Granddaughter, Storm.

The bridge fell completely silent.

Because for the first time...

James Sinclair wasn't speaking through memories...

Or journal entries...

He had left something...

Specifically for Storm.
