Chapter 5 Drinks and Questions
Drinks kept arriving on the table.
The atmosphere was loud and lively.
Zhou Zhi'an said a word to me and went to the restroom.
Fang Zhe leaned in. "Chu Yun, we've met before. Do you remember?"
I narrowed my eyes and tried to recall, but I still couldn't quite place it.
"At the hospital you dropped your stuff. I picked it up for you."
I remembered. Back then I had just found out I was an Omega, dazed, bumped into someone, and dropped things everywhere.
At that thought, my body sat up on its own.
"Those things were something I was holding for someone else."
I smiled and looked at Fang Zhe, staying calm.
"I see. I thought those things were yours."
"No way. I'm a Beta."
"Is that so?"
Sweat gathered in my palms on its own.
Right then, an arm suddenly looped around my waist.
"I feel dizzy."
Zhou Zhi'an held me lightly. His voice was a little hoarse, like he was very unwell.
I turned at once to look at Zhou Zhi'an, who had come back.
His face was flushed. His eyes looked at me, unfocused.
I lowered my voice.
"You okay?"
Zhou Zhi'an shook his head. "I want to go back."
"Alright. I'll take you back first."
I said a word to the others and took him out.
I could faintly hear people talking behind us.
"Are those two a couple? They look good together."
"Probably. I've been watching them for a while. All that holding."
"That guy looks like the one from the forums. The campus crush from the business school."
"I used to go to their school. I'm telling you they're sickeningly sweet. Invest. You won't lose!"
