Her
Three more nights. That’s how I have been counting days. Although I have slept through many under the effect of whatever I am being fed and injecting. But so far whatever I have been counting comes well over eighteen days or something. I hope to not be senseless tomorrow morning.
Hearing a knock on the door, I jolt up to get dressed. Walking in on someone sleeping is such a regular here. I get five seconds to be decent before someone walks in.
Getting up I drag the comforter up to my shoulders to hide the bare skin peeking through the satin nightgown.
Vuk walks in at the end of the five second mark. “King summons you! Throw something on and get going.”
The mention of his name has my chest exploding with tension. No... what does he want at this hour? I’m not getting raped again. I’m not getting raped tonight.
“Right now?” My voice raspy, yet shaky. I try to sound as normal as I can. One thing I’ve learnt about the men here, they love when you are afraid. The more you fight, the more doomed you end up.
“Do I need to repeat myself, Ruza? You don’t question him.” His eyes narrow, “You definitely wouldn’t want to meet him dressed like that.” He points to the comforter like he can see what’s underneath. “Now, don’t force me to drag you out myself.”
The bastard! Marija was right about the men here. They’re all wolves waiting for you to fall prey.
My throat bobs swallowing the rising bile of fear, “Give me two minutes. I’ll meet you outside.” Giving the false illusion of compliance is my best bet. The thought that the old bastard shoots whoever messes up with his whores hasn’t left my mind since. Perhaps, if I act compliant...
Getting the lace shrug from the closet, I suddenly remember something important. My mind has already jumped into combat mode. Only this is not the traditional combat method, but it might work. Pulling on the red shrug, the words replay in my head. I wonder how pretty my Rose will look painted in red.
Avoiding the dagger tearing away inside of me, I walk to the man who led my demise. I’ll need to put the right amount of fear on my face to come by as innocent while not letting it take over my head completely or I won’t be able to execute my plan successfully.
I take one deep breath on his door before lifting my hand up to place a polite knock.
“Come in, Rosa.” His baritone is vicious as ever.
The sick desire to run straight back to my room and hang myself on the fan above fills in. But I subside the terror and enter with the naivest expression I could manage.
“You called for me.” I speak meekly.
I try my best to avert my gaze but his eyes find mine. “Speak only when I tell you to.” The words are not the only poison I am fed, it’s his sickeningly similar eyes grazing my body that causes the actual damage.
Misogynistic insults have become my daily routine to face ever since my arrival to this hell, but it still manages to make my skin go red with shame, rage and what not.
Although, it only amuses him to see me flushed.
“Pardon my temper, my Rose. I’m not in a very good mood tonight. Thought, you could help me out with it.”
His short for let me abuse you so I can get in a better mood. The smirk on his face is very suggestive of what he expects me to do, but since I’ve been told to not move or speak unless told to do so I will buy my time and maybe he’ll actually send me off for tonight at least.
My legs shiver under his lecherous scrutiny. “Get on your knees, fast!”
I immediately kneel. Resistance is only going to make it worse. Regardless I tremble. Walking over to me he unbuckles and unzips to slap the erection on my face. This is your chance, begin your path to revenge, Disha.
“Do you know how good you look kneeling here for me. I bet I’m bigger than him.” His husky voice is a reminder that he’s falling for the trap.
I fake a moan, increasing the intensity of his groan as he pulls out his gun to place it on the table side. A curse under his breath and he’s panting with the mere sight of my exposed skin as he slides off my shrug.
“You look so damn good in red, sweetheart.” More slaps. “Play with it, Rose. Show me how good your tongue actually is.”
I grab the base of his dick while upping my chin to meet his gaze, his cock still grazing my lips. “That’s what he said...”
The heavy breathing continues but his brows furrow in confusion or at my audacity to speak when I wasn’t told to... I don’t know... But that’s my shot at it.
A hand around the back of my neck and then he’s tugging the base of my hair. “What did you say?”
“The one at my door duty, Zoran if I’m not mistaken.” I watch as his expression darkens, “He tried to coerce me to blow him. He even pointed his gun at me and threatened me to do it.”
“Did he?” His eyes narrow trying to comprehend whether I told him the truth or not. A tear slips through the corner of my eye and I try to hide my face soon after. The act looking rather innocent. Pride lurks beneath my skin at the thought of making him believe in my blatant lie.
With a ring he calls out the name of his old hitman on the phone. Zoran enters the scene, like he always must have done before. Clueless.
And before he could even greet his boss, King snaps at his gun firing a bullet straight through his head. I watch in horror as blood and something I don’t want to acknowledge splashes on the wall behind him.
My breathing escalates matching the rhythm of my heartbeat as my eyes scan the white expanse of marbled flooring now patched with spots of red. Deep crimson. Blood of one of his best.
One limb at a time. I am not backing off until all his best ones are gone.
His husky whimper steals my attention, “Eyes back here, Roza.” His face flush with arousal. Disgusting!
“Now, show me what I’m missing.” He hisses.
I fight back the urge to cry, and make sure my face is giving the impression of being content by the death I just witnessed. He groans like an animal when I don’t resist giving him what he called me in for.
The price is not what matters. Because as is, I was paying it every other night.
I made him do what I wanted, and I know it’s just the beginning. It’s a long road down. But I won’t stop until I’ve made him weak enough to kickstart his downfall.
And then... Then I’ll die in peace.
