Chapter 26 #3

“Fair warning, this isn’t really something you can safeword out of like you can with other things. Once I start to push it through the skin, I need it to come out the other side. So, if you safeword mid-pierce, I need to finish it, then I can immediately take it out.”

“I appreciate the warning, but I’m not going to safeword. It can’t be that bad.”

He chuckles. “I don’t think it is, but you never know.”

“OK. Do it,” I say.

He pinches a section of skin between his thumb and forefinger with his left hand and quickly inserts the needle.

There’s a sharp twinge when it enters, and again when it reappears a half inch away.

It’s not a deep puncture. In fact, I can see the raised area where the needle sits beneath the skin, and I want to touch it, but I don’t know if that’s safe.

“How was that?” Victor asks, trailing his gloved finger along the area I want to touch.

“Not painful. A little intense at first. Sharp little sting, but then it’s over.”

“Good.”

“What now?” I ask, staring at the tiny bead of blood that seeps around the needle.

“It depends. I can take it out, or I can add another one and introduce you to something called an endorphin button.”

“I’m intrigued,” I say, still staring at the needle.

“Is that consent for a second one?”

“Yes,” I say softly.

He opens another package and pinches the skin again. To my surprise, he inserts this one so that it crosses underneath the one already in my skin. It’s a little deeper, and a little more intense, but the pain is still barely noticeable.

“What’s an endorphin button?” I ask as he steps back to admire his work.

His smile is a little more wicked than I want it to be when I have needles sticking out of my skin. He raises his gloved finger and barely touches the area where the two needles are crossed beneath my skin. “See how this area is raised?”

I nod.

Suddenly, a flare of warm pain courses through me. He’s putting pressure on the raised skin, and it’s… delicious. With the pain comes the endorphin rush, and now I know why they call it an endorphin button.

“I’ve seen as many as six needles crossed in one spot like that. The more needles, the more painful it is.”

“Wow. Who thinks of these things?”

Victor laughs. “A fine question. Ready to take them out?”

“Not yet. Take a picture.”

He reaches across his desk, his shoulder purposely grazing my hardened nipples, and picks up his phone. He zooms in on the needles, and snaps a photo then shows it to me.

“Thank you. Now we can take them out. I’m sure you have things to do.”

He doesn’t say anything, just plucks the needles out in quick succession, and drops them in a small red sharps container that sits inside the needle box.

A small trickle of blood runs from each puncture spot, but it’s not much.

I catch a drop or two with my index finger and lick it off. A copper tang hits my tongue, and I whimper at the rawness of what we’re doing.

“Do you like to… play with the blood?” I ask, hesitant and hoping I don’t sound like a freak.

“I do. But only with people I’ve traded recent test results with.”

“I would say I’m clean, but with how long my husband has been cheating on me, I should probably get a panel done myself.”

Victor nods but uses the glove of his finger to smear a bit of blood on my skin.

“Painting in it is fun.”

“I can see that,” I whisper.

“What’s going through your head right now, Spitfire?”

“That I really want to do this again and have you lick all the blood off of me while your cock is in me.”

Victor curses under his breath and lets out a slow laugh. “I’ll have Dr. Singh bring the stuff to draw our blood tonight. Grace can get tested again, too.”

“Fuck. A doctor’s appointment shouldn’t be hot. But now I want to jump you on this desk.”

He grabs another alcohol wipe and presses it to my skin. I hiss as it stings the small punctures, and he grins. “Another part of needle play I like.”

“Sadist,” I quip.

“Guilty as charged. You were saying something about jumping me? May I recommend the couch instead of the desk?”

I grab his hand and pull him toward it, but there’s a knock on the door.

“There better be a goddamn fire,” he growls, jerking the door open.

“Sorry to interrupt, mate,” Owen says with a cheeky grin that tells me he isn’t sorry at all. “We’re ready in Matteo’s office for a security rundown.”

I step up behind Victor, still topless and squeeze his shoulders. “Go. We’ll finish this later.”

“Damn right we will. Put your top back on. Owen doesn’t get to ogle you since he’s cockblocking me right now.”

Owen averts his eyes dramatically, and I laugh, shoving Victor out the door. “Go. I’m right behind you.”

I cross to the desk and pick up my shirt and bra off the floor as the door shuts behind me.

Then I help myself to the bathroom in his office.

The four little needle marks in my skin are a fun reminder of what we were about to do.

I trace them with my fingers before putting my bra and blouse back on, as I contemplate the scene I’ll be helping him with tonight.

It’s going to bring all three of us closer together.

That should be a good thing, but part of me still worries I’m setting myself up for heartbreak.
