Chapter 46

JASMINE

I’m kissing my future husband!

I couldn’t believe it. When Dad had shown up to crash our celebration, I’d been sure there would be some drama.

I’d thought that maybe he’d make me choose between Isaac and the family or perhaps even threaten to disown me if I didn’t go back to Cairo right away and follow through on my promise to David.

Generally speaking, Dad was a warm and loving father, but I knew as well as anyone that he had a ruthless streak. He had to in order to get as far as he had, and while that streak had never shone through in his dealings with the family, there was a first time for everything.

I’d genuinely worried that time might’ve come, but now, Isaac was in bed with me, his body enveloping mine, and apparently, I was going to get to keep him. My love.

My head spun with the relief of it all, but as Isaac swept his tongue into my mouth, I decided to think later. This isn’t the time to let my brain take the wheel.

Isaac’s hair snagged lightly on the ring when I pushed my fingers into it and I smiled against his lips. The weight of the metal was still unfamiliar on my finger but it already felt so right. “You’re stuck with me now, Mr. Thayer.”

“There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.” He flipped us over so I was on my back, his hand sliding to my hip and anchoring me in place as he kissed me hard and deep. I moaned into his mouth, arching into him as the last vestiges of my nap disappeared.

Okay, so I’m definitely not dreaming. I’m actually going to get to marry him!

“I love you,” I murmured between passionate kisses. “I love you so, so much, Isaac Thayer. I’ve never actually said those words before, but I do. I love you.”

“I love you too,” he replied without skipping a beat, groaning when I slid my palm to his chest and laid it right over his heart. “You’re the best thing that has ever happened to me, but if you want to take it back?—”

“Never,” I promised, sliding my hands down to his shorts and pushing them off.

Thankfully, he’d climbed into bed without a shirt on and so, as soon as his shorts were gone, he was fully naked.

I ran my hands along the ridges of muscle in his back and sighed.

“I’m never going to stop touching you now. I hope you know that.”

“I think I’ll survive.” He smiled and kissed me again, sliding the straps of my nightdress down and practically growling when he realized I was naked underneath. “What’s this?”

“Those are boobs,” I said, laughing when he tickled my ribs. “I wanted to surprise you, but I didn’t know how long you were going to be or what mood you were going to be in when you got done talking to him, so I figured I’d keep covered but provide easy access.”

“You really are a dream come true. You know that, right?”

“A dirty dream?” I guessed out loud.

He shook his head and lowered his mouth to my throat. “Every dream, Jasmine Saad. Dirty. Clean. Ambitious. Wild. It doesn’t matter. You cover all the bases except for a bad dream. You’ll never be that.”

“Oh, I can be bad.”

“Yeah, but only in the best possible way.” After planting kisses along my neck, he moved down to my breasts, teasing them until I was squirming and panting underneath him.

When I ran a hand between us, I half expected him to stop me, but he didn’t, simply letting out another low, deep groan when I wrapped my fingers around the hard length of him. I stroked up and down lightly, just about delirious with need when his hips started rocking into my hand.

He kept his thrusts slow, but it still made me remember what it felt like to have him inside me when he was doing this and I angled my hips higher, moaning when he slid through my folds on the next thrust. “Isaac!”

“We need a condom,” he said, his eyes narrowing as he pulled away. “That felt too good.”

When he started moving to roll off me, I caught him with my legs, hooking my ankles around his hips and waiting until his gaze shot to mine. “We’re getting married, my love.”

“We got engaged literally two or three hours ago.” He stopped trying to move, cupping my face in his hands as he looked into my eyes.

“Your dad said we can’t get married in Cairo.

Things are too much of a mess there right now, which means we have to come up with a different idea.

I mean, I’d marry you tomorrow in whatever Alexandria’s version is of City Hall, but I doubt that’s what you want. ”

“Within a few weeks, I will be your wife. It doesn’t matter where we get married. We’ll still make it happen soon, right?”

“The sooner, the better.”

“Then make love to me. Unless you want to wait?”

“No.” He brought his lips to mine and pressed a tender kiss to them. “I want it all with you, Jasmine. I’ve always wanted kids and I know you want them too, but are you sure you want to start trying right away?”

“What would we be waiting for?” I asked, smiling. “Better days?”

He chuckled. “That’s a fair point. You don’t want to travel a bit before I start the project?”

“We will,” I murmured. “For our honeymoon.”

“You really are sure about this, aren’t you?”

I nodded. “All I’ve ever wanted is this, Isaac. I want you. I want your children. I want to build a life together that is beyond our wildest dreams, and I love you. I trust you. I don’t want anything between us anymore.”

“Neither do I, but have you ever tried it without a condom?”

I shook my head. “No. Have you?”

“Definitely not.” He widened his eyes, a playful glimmer sparking to life in them. “That’s how you get someone pregnant.”

“Or pick up a disease,” I agreed, then hesitated. “I’ve been tested. It’s part of this health screening thing we do every six months at White Water Lily.”

“Yeah, I have too,” he said, wincing before he continued. My stomach dropped, but thankfully, the reason for the wince wasn’t what I’d thought it might be. “I went and got tested after Alex told me he was going to arrange my marriage next. I guess I just wanted to be sure what was going on.”

I laughed, breathing a sigh of relief before lifting my head to steal another kiss. “Is he going to be disappointed that he didn’t get to arrange your marriage?”

“Oh, you can be sure he’s spoken to Basel by now. I’m convinced he had a hand in paving the way for us after either Ryan or Colin told him what was happening. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s why everything has gone so smoothly for us after that stunt we pulled in Cairo.”

“Ah. I see. We owe him a thank you, then.”

“Maybe.” Isaac ran the back of his hand along the contours of my face. “If I disappoint you in the next two minutes, I’ll make up for it, okay?”

I chuckled. “You could never disappoint me.”

“I’m pretty sure I’m about to, actually, but at least now you know that I won’t leave you hanging.”

“I’ve always known that.” I smiled, looking into his eyes as he twined our fingers together and adjusted the position of his hips.

The broad head of his cock was hotter than I’d been expecting when he pressed it against my entrance, but I gasped and arched into him, a bolt of urgency suddenly shooting through me. I tightened my grip on his fingers, feeling my brow furrow as he started pushing in.

“Shit, baby,” he breathed, pausing for a beat as he bowed his head and inhaled a deep breath.

A lock of that dark blond hair fell over his forehead, and when he looked at me again, he peered out at me from beneath it, beads of sweat already forming on his forehead.

“I’m definitely going to disappoint you. ”

“Never,” I repeated, pressing down on his ass with my heels to encourage him to start moving again. “We’re getting married, remember? No one is keeping score, Isaac.”

He sank deeper in until he was fully seated, his hips fitted against mine. Another low groan tore out of him. I let out a shuddering breath, already feeling my muscles contract. I wouldn’t have thought it could feel so different to feel his skin against mine, but it really did.

Somehow, we fit together even better, the sensation of his skin against all those secret places inside already sending tingles through me.

My toes curled as I lifted my head to claim his lips for another kiss.

His tongue swept into my mouth. Then he finally withdrew and fell into that rhythmic pace that always seemed to blow my mind.

It was no different tonight, except that when I felt both of our movements starting to become a little more frantic, he dialed it back a notch.

I moaned in protest at first but moved with him, realizing I was grateful he was trying to draw it out.

There was something about being with him tonight that made it feel like I was sealing a promise, giving myself to him in every possible way.

It was like I could feel the barriers between us breaking down, our hearts and souls fully accepting that it was going to be him and me, forever.

This was officially no longer a gamble. It wasn’t temporary or a casual relationship that we were trying out. With the weight of his ring on my finger and my father’s blessing, tonight was the beginning of our lives together.

I felt it when he finally couldn’t take it anymore, surrendering myself to the orgasm that had been building all along.

It swept through me in a wave so intense, it was practically spiritual, pleasure exploding from the very root of my being.

Isaac came at the exact same time, his hips slamming into mine.

He slowed our frantic kisses and rolled onto his back, panting. And brought me with him. My limbs felt like jelly, but my heart had never felt so complete.

“I meant to pull out,” he murmured a moment later, pressing a gentle kiss to my forehead. “I’m sorry.”

“No.” I smiled into the darkness of the cabin. “If we just made a baby, nothing would make me happier.”

He stilled against me for a beat before he let out a throaty chuckle. “So this is what it feels like to be settled, huh? I didn’t think I’d ever get here.”

“And have you?”

“Hell yeah.” He pulled me even closer, his heart rate steadying under my ear. “Let’s get you cleaned up, my love. I’m never going to stop touching you either, but I’ll let you get some rest before we try again.”
