Chapter 11

After all the classes were done and everyone was heading home, I didn't rush like the others.

Nope.

I had unfinished business.

My eyes scanned the campus parking lot, a grin tugging at my lips as I searched for one very specific car-sleek, black, and obnoxiously expensive.

Mr. Khadoos's precious ride.

And then-bingo.

Parked right near the admin building like it owned the damn lot.

I smirked, mischief bubbling inside me as I walked toward it, hands casually tucked in my pockets.

His smug little note in my notebook? That silent mockery of solving his own torture assignment? Yeah... that wasn't going unnoticed.

Time for a little payback.

I glanced around. No one in sight.

Then I crouched beside the rear tire, pulling out the tiny pocket tool I "borrowed" from Raj.

Psssssshhhhhhh...

The sweet sound of air escaping filled the silence. My grin widened with every passing second.

By the time the tire deflated completely, I stood up, dusting my hands like I'd just won a war.

"Ab ayega maza, Khadoos."

(Now it'll be fun.)

I turned on my heel, walking away like a boss, victorious.

But as I walked past the side mirror-

I froze.

Because the window rolled down.

And sitting inside, leaning back casually with one brow raised and a slow, dangerous smirk playing on his lips- it Was Rudra Singhania.

"Tire thik karne ka plan hai? Ya bhagwan bharose chhod rahi ho?"

(Planning to fix the tire or leaving it to God?)

I choked.

Shit.

He'd seen everything.

And judging by the look in his eyes... This was far from over.

In fact, I had just declared war.

And Rudra Singhania?

He never loses.

I stood frozen, caught red-handed-literally-tool in hand, tire flat, and the man himself watching me with the calm intensity of a predator who'd just cornered his prey.

Rudra Singhania.

Leaning back in his seat like he owned the world-and me.

His smirk deepened.

"Done?" he asked, voice lazy but with that dangerous edge that made my stomach flip.

I opened my mouth, but words? Yeah, those had abandoned me the moment that window rolled down.

I dropped the tool behind my back, trying to play it cool.

"Umm... you-you weren't supposed to be in the car."

"Clearly." He stepped out, shutting the door behind him. His tall frame towered over me, that signature cold, unreadable expression back in full force-except for the faint flicker of amusement in his eyes.

I looked anywhere but at him.

"Look, it's just a prank-no need to be dramatic." I mumbled, taking a step back.

He took a step forward."You punctured my tire."

"Minor damage," I said, shrugging.

His brow shot up. "You're walking home."

I blinked. "Excuse me?"

"With me." His tone left no room for argument.

"Why?!" I squeaked, shocked. "You have other cars! Drivers! Helicopters, for all I know!"

He ignored my rant, already walking away. "Start walking, Furball. You owe me. Unless you'd rather pay for four new tires?"

I stared at him, jaw on the floor.

I should've run. Should've hidden. Should've let Raj take the fall somehow.

But now?

Now I was walking beside Rudra Singhania, trying to keep up with his stupid long legs and pretending this wasn't the most awkward, tension-filled walk of my life.

Neither of us spoke for a few minutes.

The silence? Unbearable.

Finally, I huffed. "You're enjoying this, aren't you?"

He glanced at me, his smirk making a comeback.

"Immensely."

And I swear, at that moment, I made it my life's mission to make his life hell.

Let the war begin.

I was sitting in my car, window up, engine running-ready to leave.

But then, from the corner of my eye, I saw her.

My little Furball.

Storming toward my car with that signature mischief written all over her face.

I leaned back, shutting off the ignition.

Let's see what chaos she's up to now.

She didn't notice me-her eyes locked on my rear tire like it had personally offended her.

I stayed quiet, watching. She crouched, pulled out a small tool, and-

Psshhhhhhhhh.

The sound of air hissing out of my tire filled the silence.

I couldn't stop the smirk pulling at my lips.

Ballsy. Irritating. Predictable.

Still... she was entertaining.

She stood up, grinning like she'd won a war.

"Ab ayega maza," she whispered.

("Now it'll be fun.")

I rolled the window down-slow and deliberate.

Her grin vanished.

Panic. Shock. And then... regret.

The look on her face? Priceless.

Now we're walking home.

Her, sulking beside me like I sentenced her to death.

I can hear her cursing under her breath, every few seconds muttering something about me being a "tyrant," "lunatic," or something equally creative.

I don't stop her.

I just watch her from the corner of my eye, amused.

Her cheeks flushed, arms crossed tight, kicking every stone in sight.

She's fuming. And it's almost cute-if that word even existed in my vocabulary.

"You know," she snaps finally, "this counts as harassment."

I raise a brow but say nothing.

"I hope you step on a Lego," she mutters again.

I smirk. "I don't have Legos."

She glares at me like I just kicked a puppy.

Silence again.

But I don't mind. Her presence is loud enough.

And if I'm being honest- I like it.

Walking with her like this?It shouldn't feel this... normal. This right.

But it does.

And something tells me-This isn't the last time we walk together.

Not even close.

The sun was setting, casting long shadows across the pavement as we walked. Her footsteps echoed beside mine-quick, uneven, frustrated.

She hadn't shut up for a solid minute now.

"I hope your next coffee spills. I hope your pen leaks. I hope-"

I cut in, voice calm, "You're really bad at revenge."

She turned toward me, eyes wide.

"Excuse me? I'm fantastic at revenge! You're just... a tyrant who doesn't play fair!"

I didn't reply.

Instead, I watched as she kicked a small rock down the road, muttering more curses. Probably inventing new ones specifically for me.

I let her rage in silence.

Until- She tripped.

One second she was walking, the next her ankle twisted, and she stumbled forward with a small yelp.

Reflex took over.

I grabbed her arm, pulling her back against my chest, steadying her before she face-planted into the sidewalk.

She blinked up at me, frozen.

I looked down at her-face flushed, eyes wide, mouth slightly parted in shock.

For a moment-

Neither of us moved.

Her hair was a mess, strands falling into her eyes. She didn't even try to fix it.

She just stood there, staring.

I didn't let go.

Neither did she pull away.

"Careful," I said softly, my hand still around her wrist. "You fall too easily."

Something flickered in her eyes-confusion, annoyance, maybe something else. She pulled her hand back like my touch burned.

"I'm fine," she muttered, brushing off her shirt, avoiding my eyes like the plague.

I smirked to myself, walking ahead.

Behind me, I could practically hear her brain short-circuiting.

Let her overthink.

Let her wonder.

Because this? This was fun.

And I wasn't done with her.

Not even close.
