Chapter 22
Everything was going good, we returned from Shimla a week ago, and now everything was going normal. Attending classes and .... Attending maths class with Mr.khadoos teaching it.
But One notification change my night routine. Our examination is going to be started. And from that day, i haven't slept in night because Maths is the only problem. I have done my other subjects syllabus but Maths.
Now currently I'm sitting on my study table while my Lazy Brother Raj is also sitting beside me trying hard to not to yawn or fall asleep.
Raj let out a loud sigh, slumping over the table like a lifeless body. "Maya, kitni der aur? (Maya, how much longer?)"
I shot him a glare, my head buried in my maths book. "Jab tak mujhe yeh samajh nahi aata! (Until I understand this!)"
Raj groaned, rubbing his face. "Mujhe lagta hai tere maths se pehle mera life khatam ho jayega. (I think my life will end before you understand maths.)"
I smacked his arm with my notebook. "Dramatic mat ban, aur help kar! (Stop being dramatic and help me!)"
He sighed again, rubbing his temples. "Mujhe kyun yaad dila raha hai ki tu meri behen hai? (Why are you reminding me that you're my sister?)"
I narrowed my eyes. "Bhai ho toh help karo! (If you're my brother, then help me!)"
Raj groaned again, flipping open my book lazily. "Accha bata, kya problem hai? (Fine, tell me what's the problem?)"
I pointed to a particularly nasty equation. "Yeh dekh! Yeh solve hi nahi ho raha! (Look at this! I can't solve it!)"
He squinted at it, then chuckled. "Haan, bilkul tujh jaisa lag raha hai. Na solve ho raha hai, na samajh aa raha hai. (Yeah, this looks exactly like you. Neither solvable nor understandable.)"
"RAJ!" I grabbed a pillow from my chair and smacked him hard.
He burst into laughter, dodging my attacks. "Arey! Sach toh bol raha hoon! (Hey! I'm just telling the truth!)"
I huffed, glaring at him. "Bas! Main jaa rahi hoon kisi aur se help lene! (Enough! I'm going to ask someone else for help!)"
Raj smirked. "Ja na! Tere Mr. Khadoos se padh le! Waise bhi ab tu unki favorite student lagti hai. (Go ahead! Study with your Mr. Khadoos! You seem to be his favorite student these days.)"
I froze. My face heated up. "Shut up, Raj!"
He wiggled his brows. "Arre sach bol raha hoon. Shimla ke baad toh tum dono bohot close lag rahe ho. (Oh, I'm just stating facts. You both seem very close after Shimla.)"
I threw my pen at him, which he dodged with a laugh. "Raj! Kuch bhi mat bol! (Raj! Stop talking nonsense!)"
He smirked. "Agar sach nahi hai toh jaa, usse maths padh le. Bas aankhon mein na dekhna warna tu aur confuse ho jayegi. (If it's not true, then go and study with him. Just don't look into his eyes, or you'll get even more confused.)"
I groaned, burying my face in my hands. "Main pagal ho jaungi! (I'm going to go crazy!)"
Raj patted my head dramatically. "Already ho chuki hai, behen. (You already are, sister.)"
I grabbed my notebook and chased him around the room, his laughter echoing through the house.
But deep down, one thought lingered in my mindβshould I really ask Mr.khadoos for help?
After a few minutes of chasing Raj around the roomβand failing miserablyβI collapsed back onto my chair, exhausted.
He was still laughing, holding his stomach. "Maya, tu na... asli cartoon hai. (Maya, you're a real-life cartoon.)"
I rolled my eyes, rubbing my temples. "Jo bhi ho, par maths ka kuch nahi ho raha. (Whatever, but my maths is still a mess.)"
Raj smirked, leaning against the table. "Toh kya decide kiya? Mr. Khadoos se padhne wali hai ya apne dukhon se ladti rahegi? (So, what have you decided? Are you going to study with Mr. Khadoos or continue struggling alone?)"
I hesitated. The thought of asking Rudra for help felt... weird. Would he even agree? I mean, yeah, he had been nice to me lately, but he was still my professor.
Raj noticed my silence and gasped dramatically. "Oye hoye! Tu soch rahi hai? Matlab tu sach mein jaana chahti hai! (Oh wow! You're actually considering it? That means you really want to go!)"
I grabbed a book and threw it at him, which he barely dodged. "Bakwaas band kar, Raj! (Shut up, Raj!)"
He grinned. "Theek hai, par agar ja rahi hai toh jaldi ja, warna sir busy ho gaye toh teri problem aur badh jayegi. (Alright, but if you're going, go quickly. If Sir gets busy, your problem will only get worse.)"
I sighed, tapping my pen against the table. "Agar mana kar diya toh? (What if he refuses?)"
Raj smirked. "Tu na, bas apni bholi-shakal bana ke dekhna. Mana karna toh door, shayad teri jagah paper bhi wahi likh de. (Just put on your innocent face. Forget refusing, he might even write your paper for you.)"
I glared at him. "Mujhe khud padhna hai! (I want to study on my own!)"
He raised his hands in surrender. "Accha baba, toh jaa! (Okay, fine! Go already!)"
Taking a deep breath, I grabbed my books and stood up. This is a bad idea. A really bad idea.
But I had no choice.
I needed help.
And unfortunately, the only person who could help me was Rudra.
After thinking for about half an hour, i finally decided to Text him. I took a deep breath before scrolling through my contact list. And there he is.
mr.khadoos.
I sent , and believe me it hasn't been even 5 seconds i recieved his reply.
When I recieved his reply text, I swear I can imagine him smirking.
I rolled my eyes, already regretting this decision.
I quickly clicked a picture of the equation and sent it.
I stared at my screen, debating whether I should continue this war or actually focus on studying.
I sat up straight, feeling like a disciplined student.
My eyes widened.
I gulped. Sneak out?! Why does this feel more like a crime than a maths lesson?!
I groaned, clutching my phone. This man is impossible!
But the real question was... should I go?
