Chapter 65

“Take my hand, take my whole life too. For I can’t help falling in love with you.” – Elvis Presley

Aiden's POV

The next day, I woke up to an amazingly melodic voice singing happy birthday in my ear.

Strange, it was definitely not my birthday.

She was two months too late for that considering it was March now.

Curls tickled my bare arm as Rose kept singing.

I breathed deeply. She smelled even better than usual as she pressed herself against me, the blanket separating our bodies.

I felt myself becoming hard. A constant state these days.

But it was worth it if I got to sleep next to Rose and hold her in my arms at night.

Then as Rose ended her random tune, my arms found their way around her torso, pulling her close to me under the blankets so I could feel her warm body next to mine.

I started as my bare chest came into contact with a surprising amount of her bare skin.

My eyes flew open, this was unexpected. She wasn’t wearing her nightgown in bed.

My momentary surprise was enough for her to pull away slightly as Isat up.

I looked down at her to see her blushing profusely right down to the swell of her breasts where the blanket, she held like a lifeline, started.

“What are you wearing?” my voice was hoarse as I zoned in on the red ribbon choker she wore.

Rose's POV

“I…apparently, I bought this a day before your birthday according to the receipt.” My voice was small, unsure.

I’d managed to squeeze into it. It was tight. But if I didn’t do it now, it might not fit later. AndI’d decided that this was something I wanted to do. For myself and for Aiden.

Aiden’s eyebrows nearly disappeared into his hairline.

“And well…we never did celebrate your birthday,” I said a little defensively and shrugged my shoulders. “Happy belated birthday?” I supplied.

Aiden tugged at the blanket. “I have to see.” I didn’t let go.

“I don’t think I’ve ever worn anything like this,” I squeaked out unsurely. “And I have stretch marks!” Iwarned as Aiden tugged again.

“Fuck, are you trying to kill me? You could wear a potato sack and I’d still find you sexy. Let me see,” Aiden growled, “I’m practically salivating at the prospect of you in sexy lingerie,” he said with a grin.

The blanket fell away, and I saw Aiden's mouth fall open.

I felt self-conscious. The lingerie barely fit, my breasts practically spilling out of the bra and the straps of my thong digging into my hips. But Aiden looked at me as if I was the sexiest thing he'd ever laid eyes on.

My breasts nearly spilled out of the strips of fabric that crossed over my nipples, creating an x over each breast. He could see my darkened areolas.

“They’re bigger than what I remember,” he rasped, tugging the rest of the blanket away.

He licked his lips, eyes on my swollen belly and cellulite covered ass in a lacy red thong and, judging by the bulge in his boxers, it made him grow harder.

“I think I’ve died and gone to heaven,” Aiden said hoarsely.

My smile trembled and my hand shook as my fingers opened the card on my choker.

Happy Birthday Aiden

Aiden cursed when he read it. “Tell me when to stop,” Aiden moaned, moving forward to grab me in his arms.

He nibbled his way down the hollow of my shoulder and used his mouth to push down the flimsy strips of fabric.

“Aiden,” I moaned as hot pulses erupted across my entire body.

Flickers of memories, of knowing what to do next came to me as my hands buried in the hair at the nape of his neck.

It was a reflex; I didn’t need to think with him.

I gently tugged his head back so that he looked me in the eye. “I don’t want you to stop.”

My words made Aiden’s breathing still before going into overdrive. His eyes darkened. “Babe, are you sure?”

I nodded, moving to straddle him as he lay back on the bed.

“I…it feels right,” I confessed from my new position of looking down at him.

“It’s like echoes of memories dancing across my skin.

Every touch…everything…it doesn’t feel new.

” My lips met his in a passionate kiss, pouring all of my emotions into him.

We pulled back and I spoke again. “You’ve been so patient, Aiden, and so considerate.

You gave me time.” I rolled my hips into his, feeling him harden through the boxers he always wore to bed for my sake.

“I don’t want you to be patient anymore,” I confessed as if admitting my downfall.

“I need you and I know you need me too.”

“I need you like the air I need to breathe,” Aiden responded gruffly, staring up at me as I gyrated against him.

His hand went to grip one of my ass cheeks.

My movements stilled. His words sounded so familiar...

“Have you said that to me before?” I queried.

Aiden nodded. “The morning after we made love for the first time.”

“Make love to me again,” I moaned, resuming my gyrating. Aiden growled. “Show me what I’ve forgotten.”

And he did. His lips, teeth and hands played across my body, eliciting moans and pleas from my lips like never before.

He must have known what could make me snap, what could make me buzz and he was using that knowledge to full advantage to push me over the edge.

Once I’d come down from the mind-shattering orgasm he’d brought me too, I let my lips trail over his torso, a naughty idea taking hold.

“Have I done this before?” I purred, lips poised over his erect cock.

“Once or twice.” Aiden’s breath was ragged. “You don’t have to—”

I cut him off when I took him in my mouth. I looked up at him, hollowing out my cheeks.

He threw his head back in ecstasy.

“Fuck,” he gasped.

His hand tangled in the curls at the back of my head, signaling I was doing it right as I slid up and down his length.

“I’m going to come in your mouth if you don’t stop,” Aiden breathed out with an agonizing groan.

“But you have to come inside me,” I spoke plaintively once I’d pulled back from him with a faint pop.

His lips tilted into a ghost of a smile

“Some things never change,” he muttered.

I crawled up over his body, positioning myself over him.

“Like this?” I bit my bottom lip, trying to angle him inside.

Aiden hissed in agreement when I finally sunk down over him.

“I love you,” he spoke the words ardently as he looked up at me. Heavily pregnant, I was having trouble figuring out exactly how to move so we both enjoyed it. It’s not like I remembered anything. “Lean back, grab my thighs.”

“Have we already done this position?” I asked, following his instructions. “Oh!” I yelped in pleasure at the friction it created when I moved against him.

“No.” Aiden jerked slightly, meeting my thrusts.

The import of it sunk in. We were trying something new, something different. It was a first for both of us. I didn't have to worry about comparing it with something I couldn't remember anymore.

“You look so fucking hot right now,” Aiden growled. “Lips bruised from my kisses, breasts engorged and that stomach swollen from growing my pup.”

His words made me hot all over. And the way he talked about my body, as if it was a temple to be worshipped made me remember something else. I leaned forward into him, my breath tickling his jaw.

“Mark me,” Ipleaded finally, moving my hair to one side. I angled my neck to give him better access. “Erase him from my body.”

Aiden had stopped and was staring at me in surprise.“So, you knew the mark wasn't mine and knew about my failure?” Aiden asked in a slow voice.

I looked at him and realized a sense of guilt and shame was engulfing him.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you from him,” Aiden’s voice was tortured. I felt him start to soften inside of me.

I kissed his jaw.

“Aiden, we’re a team. You came back didn’t you? You came back for me.” my voice was husky, seductive as I kept moving against him. “I don’t remember, but from the things I know…the things I feel, there’s no one else I’d rather have as my mate. Now mark me,” I demanded firmly.

He let his hand lightly rest against my belly between us before kissing me, his tongue delved past my lips, exploring the crevices of my mouth.

I hovered over him, hands clutching his shoulders, leveraging myself against him so as not to squish my stomach.

I moaned when Aiden’s lips rubbed across the stretch of skin at the side of my neck before resting over Alistair’s mark.

The large puncture wounds over my neck were still swollen and scabbed.

Alister's wolf venom made it so that it never fully healed. It was a fact that a wolf could insert his canines repeatedly into his mate's neck.

But it was also the responsibility of every male wolf to make sure he placed his mark carefully and neatly so that it didn't hurt his mate, and he could easily re-scent his mate without causing repeated pain.

But this mark was made with no such intent.

“I wish I’d killed the bastard.” Aiden's voice shook.

“Do it,” Ipleaded, my body was anticipating the thrill of it. Something told me it would feel good. I grinded into him insistently.

His canines erupted, his tongue laving my delicate skin to prepare it for his bite.

I knew Aiden was trying to select a part of my skin which was the softest so it would hurt me the least. I finally felt him sink his teeth in, letting his venom erase Alistair's mark over me and set his own in place.

He was doing so with so much care and love, with his whole being.

I moaned and gyrated against him even more.

White hot lights erupted behind my eyelids and Aiden sucked on my skin, canines buried deep in my neck as he moved against me as I kept undulating my hips.

We kept the motions going until I didn’t.

Because I fell apart in his arms and as I rode the crest of my pleasure, feeling Aiden empty himself inside of me, it was like a key unlocked a hidden compartment in my brain.

Memories flooded into me, memories I'd thought were lost to me.

“Rose, I told you before and I’m telling you again, you’re the only one in my heart. I only have feelings for you. You’re the only one I want to go back home with, you are the only one I want to be with.”

“… I couldn’t take my eyes off of you. You're gorgeous. And that skirt makes your butt look more amazing than usual.”

“I like you and you always taste like cinnamon.”

“Aiden,” I breathed in awe as the memories came flooding back.

He’d laid me down on my side, a hand possessively over my stomach. His nose nuzzled in the crook of my neck as he smelled our newly mingled scents against the column of my throat.

“Screw the pack. This is about us. I love you too damn much, Rose, and I don’t want to mess up with you.”

“I chose you, Rose. Every time, I’d choose you.”

Aiden pulled back to look at me closely.

“I love you,” I exhaled, eyelashes wet with tears. “You came back to me.”

My finger went to trace the curve of his jaw, like I’d done so many times before.

“I will always come back to you,” Aiden replied fiercely, arms going around to clutch me against him before he kissed me.

Exhausted and immensely happy, we made love again. And I fell asleep tangled in Aiden's arms, his hands splayed across my stomach as if trying to protect the growing life inside of me.
