Chapter 28 #2
The irony wasn’t lost on him. He’d been doing the same thing to get Sarang, only he’d chosen to open a hotel, figuring a legal way would keep both Sarang and Kian happy—also ironic.
On the one hand, a part of Shiloh could relate to Dio’s desperation, and understand where he was coming from.
On the other, Shiloh wanted to remove the man’s entrails and make him eat them.
“Stop.” Shiloh fell onto his side, barely able to curl his fingers now. A warning sound rumbled up his throat when the alpha approached, but it didn’t deter the other man one bit.
Diogenes scooped him up with ease and carried him over to the bed.
Panic started to settle in, but Shiloh could barely struggle, unable to resist as he was lowered onto the plush mattress and positioned onto his stomach.
He growled again when he felt hands on the snap of his pants, desperately trying to regain control of his limbs as he was stripped from the waist down in one swift move.
Cool air licked at his bare skin, and he heard the alpha let out a pleased whistle.
A hand cupped his left ass cheek, the touch nothing like the ones from Sarang, and Shiloh’s anger turned to fear.
“Look at the marks he made here,” he sounded bitter. “We’ll have to replace them with marks of my own. After. I have to be inside you when I bite,” Diogenes reminded, as though there was any chance Shiloh had forgotten how their damn species worked. “Knotting you.” He groaned. “Finally.”
“Don’t.” Shiloh internally grimaced—unable to work his facial muscles now—when he felt himself spread wide for the alpha’s view. Sarang had done the same on more than one occasion, and Shiloh had always felt a burst of arousal from knowing he was being so hungrily looked at.
That wasn’t the case here.
There was only disgust and bile that threatened to travel up his throat.
“I bet you’re still thinking about how you’ll refuse,” Diogenes said, settling over his back. He started rubbing his erection against Shiloh’s behind, thankfully still sheathed within his pants. “But if you want to protect Sloane, you’ll reconsider.”
What?
“I was able to turn one of her personal guards with the promise of a higher position within my ring. All it’ll take is one call from me and they’ll attack her.
You may not be capable of feeling love, but your feelings toward your twin are the closest you’ve ever come.
You wouldn’t let anything happen to her, would you? ”
If anyone hurt Sloane—
“Thinking about stabbing me now, babe?” Diogenes buried his nose in Shiloh’s hair and inhaled.
Ew.
Times a billion.
“Once you’re marked, it won’t matter that you have dominant pheromones.
They’ll be useless against your alpha.” He tugged at Shiloh’s shirt, popping buttons, and pulled the material out of the way to expose his throat and right shoulder.
His pheromones came next, strong enough they made Shiloh want to gag.
But because he wasn’t mated, his body reacted, slick slowly starting to pool and soak his passage. It didn’t come on as strongly as it did with Sarang, and Shiloh’s dick didn’t follow suit, but it was still mortifying enough that Shiloh internally screamed.
“See? You can get wet for me,” Dio said, excitement bubbling in his voice.
He struggled to undo his belt, aware of the way Shiloh’s terror grew with each passing second.
Or maybe just not caring. “Once we’re somewhere safe, you’ll see that I was right.
I’m perfect for you. Better than he’ll ever be.
I can accept you for who you are, Shiloh. No one else can say the same.”
Gods. Would Sarang still want him after this?
Yes. Yes, of course he would.
He’d wanted Shiloh after that crap with the Leviathan. Had understood that it wasn’t Shiloh’s fault.
As much as he loathed to admit it, Shiloh was currently a victim.
When he’d been younger and his mother’s punishments had been particularly brutal, he’d perfected the art of separating mind from body, and that’s what he did now, tucking himself safely away somewhere—anywhere—that wasn’t here.
He tensed when the alpha pressed against him, clearly about to try and enter.
Until the sound of approaching footsteps gave them both pause.
A second later, the metal entrance clattered open, and Sarang stepped out onto the roof.
Before Shiloh could react, he found himself flipped onto his back, head flopping over the edge of the mattress. The new position allowed him a better look at the underboss, who looked about as horrified as he currently felt.
Diogenes rubbed against him, drawing attention to the fact they were both exposed, laughing when Sarang roared. There was a click, and then his arm went up, high enough for Shiloh to catch a glance at the weapon now aimed Sarang’s way.
“Accept the bite,” Dio threatened, “or I blow the underboss’ head off.
” He laughed again, lowering so his mouth was close to Shiloh’s ear, and said in a quieter tone, “We both know you don’t care about him enough to sacrifice yourself.
Let me kill him, then we can take on the rest, and leave this place.
If you still want to cut me up, I’ll gladly let you.
I’m that confident that you’ll eventually see reason and take me as your alpha. ”
“You aren’t making it out of this alive,” Sarang snarled.
“Actually, you aren’t,” Dio replied. “If Shiloh lets me shoot you, I’ll put a hold on my plans to mark him. Since he’s pretty pissed off at the moment that I did this on my own, I bet you can guess which option he’s going to choose?”
And Dio wouldn’t mind, because to him, getting rid of Sarang was every bit of a win as delivering the claiming bite.
The psycho really believed that Shiloh would forgive him. Hell, he’d probably even convinced himself that Shiloh would be impressed by this whole stint and find the bloodshed and aggression of it all attractive.
Really, who could blame him?
