Chapter 6 Waking in Confusion
I woke up with a splitting headache and stared blankly at my bandaged right hand.
My gaze shifted to the other side of the bed where Chi Jinming lay sleeping deeply.
I didn't understand how everything had turned out like this.
I remembered waking up in the middle of the night and somehow starting to drink with Chi Jinming.
Our lips pressed together out of nowhere.
Neither of us gave in.
Later I even complained that his kissing skills were terrible and tried to pry his mouth open...
I buried my face in my palms in regret.
Just as I decided to pretend nothing happened and quietly slip away.
Chi Jinming woke up with a lazy smile.
He said the Great-Uncle had called last night.
I answered the phone.
You guess what he said?
It didn't matter what he said. If I didn't get the final payment I would fight with him.
I grabbed the pillow and swung it at Chi Jinming.
You went crazy! Why answer that call.
Chi Jinming caught the pillow mid-air.
He rolled over and pinned my wrist up to the headboard locking me in place.
