“Wow look who's finally decided to come out of hiding.” Violin didn't hide the sarcasm in her tone, only earning an eye roll from me.

I mean what was her deal with me?

From the first day I stepped into the house, she'd hated me.

Either way, I wasn't going to let it affect my mood.

Leila on the other hand, looked pale. Probably out of nervousness.

When she shambled towards me, one would assume she was a woman caught stealing from the president.

But as soon as she stopped at a comfortable gap in front of me, tears welled in her eyes.

Oh, not something I'd expected.

I turned to Don for help on what to do, but was only greeted by a sad expression from him.

Uh…

“Listen dear,” she started, her voice low, “I know you probably hate me for what I did but trust me when I say I didn't mean to be so mean to Catherine.”

She sniffed in, probably fighting back the tears that threatened to fall. “When I found out she died, I was so devastated. I used to blame myself for it, I hated the fact I didn't give her the money earlier.”

All I could do was just stare at her.

And now that I stared deeper, I realized she actually had a similar look to how she was thirteen years ago.

Only now, she had gained more weight.

Not much to call her fat, but enough to be considered weight gain.

“I don't know if you'll ever forgive me, but I really really apologize.” Her eyes pleaded with me to forgive her.

Like that was one of the main things she needed to survive.

“I really don't have a problem with you.” And that was true.

It wasn't like I was trying to play the nice girl card or anything, but although she hadn't given my mom the money that day, she'd given her money lots of time for two years.

Even when it was posing a threat on her marriage.

Now thinking about it, she was actually why mom hadn't died earlier.

She was an angel in disguise.

“Really?” Her face expressed the guilt she possessed.

That actually touched my heart a little.

This woman had obviously lived in guilt got thirteen years, because of something she didn't have to do.

Truth be told, she was a billionaire.

Had worked for the money and legally owned it.

She wasn't obliged to give a woman living in poverty one penny.

Why?

Because it was her money.

But she did.

Ever since the day mom had met with her fifteen years back, when mom needed money and bumped into her, Leila had been offering her help ever since.

And for free at that.

No way could I just stand here and look at a woman with such a kind heart stay close to tears from guilt.

The only thing that came to my head was what I did.

Releasing my hand from hers, I replaced it round her back, pulling her to a warm hug.

“It's okay. My mom loved you till the end, you're a very special person to us.” I said into her shoulder.

She seemed to have caught it by surprise, hut hugged back. “Thank you. Thank you for forgiving me.”

It was when we pulled apart that Suzy and Rose walked in, Darien trailing behind them.

“Hey Eri, I'm so glad you're back.” Darien headed towards me, pulling me to a brief hug.

“So am I.”

“This dude was about to kill himself because of your absence.” He shook his head a little, gesturing to Don. “He wasn't eating a thing, nor was he sleeping.”

“He was just being dramatic.” Violin added, earning a glare and chuckle from Don and Darien respectively.

“I don't understand why you're here.” Don asked with a huff.

She just rolled her eyes, not replying.

Really though, why was she here? I wouldn't think she'd have cared about my disappearance.

Suzy ambled towards me, giving me a brief hug also. “You finally decided to make the smart decision, huh?”

Darien stared from her to Rose, then to me, back to Rose who seemed to be blushing under his gaze. “You two knew?”

She stared at him, awkwardly locking their gaze, but they didn't seem to notice it was awkward. “Actually, she made us promise not to tell, I didn't mean to keep it from you.”

I guessed she didn't realize she wasn't supposed to direct it to him, she was supposed to say, from everyone.

But, we'll just let them be for now.

“Oh, okay.” They stayed in that position for another two really awkward seconds.

“Okay…” Leila probably tried to break it. “June came over to my place.”

With that, everyone (except Violin) snapped their attention to her. “What?! Why?!” Don's fists were clenched and brows pulled to a deep frown.

Leila stared at all faces in confusion. “Well… she just wanted to greet me, see how I'm doing.”

“That bitch.” It was just a thought, I didn't even realize when it came out.

“Why? She's of more class than you ever will be.” Violin scoffed, but I chose to ignore it.

I had no time to argue.

“Did she say anything else?” I instead directed the question to the still confused Leila.

“Um… she also wanted to know if Eri was still leaving after the contract was over.”

My brows dipped. “This girl has got some problems.”

Leila had a raised brow, expressing her puzzled self. “Why? Did she do something?”

With a sigh, Don replied. “Yeah, it's a long story.”

And it really was a long story.

“You're not going to work anytime soon.” I paced to his closet, picking out a blue blanket from it. “You need to rest.”

“I need to go.” He stubbornly objected, from where he sat on the bed. “This time for my company isn't the time to rest.”

“No, you're not going.” My tone was stern in a no-argument type of way.

“You know, making the company a trillion dollar company requires a lot of work.” He continued. “And perhaps, I haven't gone to work for more than a week because of your absence, I need to go today.”

“You're not going till you feel better and that's final.” I ordered.

“Cover yourself with this and get some rest.” I threw the blanket on the bed. “Good night.”

Turning, I headed towards the door, but came to a halt when his hand wrapped around my waist.

That action made me flinch.

Especially since I wasn't aware when he'd gotten out of bed.

“What are you doing? Go to sleep.” How just that simple touch could make me lose my sanity.

He placed his lips on my neck, coating my skin with goosebumps. “Why are you leaving?”

“What?” The feeling made shivers of pleasure run down my spine.

“Can't we stay in the same room forever? We are a married couple that love each other.” He kissed my neck, turning me to face him.

He was right.

We were a married couple.

And we might also live the rest of our lives that way so what was the use of using separate rooms.

“Can I ask you something?” I whispered, staring into those dark blue eyes.

“Sure.” Our lips were so close to each other, it'd touch if we moved an inch more.

“After the two years contract, do I still have to leave?” That question had been in my head for a while and I needed to ask.

His stare spoke love only. “Do you want to leave?”

Slowly, I shook my head once. “No, I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”

“Then so be it.” He pressed his lips against mine for a second or two. “So are we sharing rooms?”

With a nod, I pushed my lips to his.

Oh gosh, I loved this man with everything in me.
