I don't think Papa was happy when I told him I was going to be staying over at Evie's tonight. His text didn't show any emotion but I'd known him long enough to see the hidden feelings through a simple text.
What made me make such a decision you might ask?
Well, to be fair...Binta made me do it!
Okay, all she did was mention the idea and my mind took it to a whole new level, I began to imagine what it would be like to spend the night at his house.
He was my boyfriend now, so it would t be awkward, right?
Honestly, I missed him dearly. I wanted to hug him and cuddle with him until the moon unravelled from behind the clouds.
After such an imagination, of course, I was going to ask!
I was practically shaking like a leaf when I asked him, Binta was my witness — and not a very sly one as she snickered at me until I was done with the conversation. Her teasing only added more heat to my cheeks, I felt as though my head was going to burst when she told me to use contraception.
I wasn't going to have sex with him!
I mean...I wouldn't mind kissing him and being more intimate but...
Okay, no. I wasn't going to lead my poor mind on.
Admittedly, I'd changed out of two outfits before I decided upon this one.
It was a casual meeting, right? I didn't need to wear jeans or a dress.
I settled with cotton shorts and a fitted white top.
Paired with the cute brown sandals that Abel had gotten for me.
Did I look too comfortable? I mean, that was the plan.
"You look fine," Binta smirked, giving me a sideway gaze. Gosh, of course, I was being obvious about my thoughts, this was the second time I'd drawn down the mirror to inspect my hair and face. I blushed, sheepishly closing the mirror in the car.
"Okay..." I'd been caught, how embarrassing.
"Besides, from the looks of it, he's pretty much obsessed with you.
" She said casually. Dear dear, she shouldn't utter such words so freely!
Her heart had picked up to three miles per hour!
I couldn't Imagine Everest being obsessed with me, would he smoulder me in kisses? I mean, I wasn't against the idea—
"—Binta! Don't put ideas in my head!" I whined, lightly shaking my head. The latter grinned before bursting into laughter. Clearly, she found my being flustered hilarious. "Oh my, I didn't realise you were an overflow of hormones." She teased, pushing my shoulders with her free hand.
My eyes widened.
Was she insinuating that I was—
"Binta!"
"Amelia!" She whined after me, her voice going a pitch higher. I scoffed, sticking y tongue out at her. "I'm just nervous! Not...you know what." I poured, crossing my arms against my shirt. Binta gazed at me, her dimples showing as she smirked.
"Gosh, your innocence is adorable." The girl said.
Huffing, I looked out of the window. I said I'd come by nine, though I wasn't sure when he'd be through. I simply hoped he wouldn't get too carried away and forget. The thought of being stood up pricked my heart. The last time that happened, I didn't take it lightly, I even shed a tear!
"Don't worry Sunshine. I'll be there until I see you go in" I found her words comforting. Giving her a smile, I wiggled my eyebrows in an attempt to lighten the mood I'd dampened with my overthinking. "Where have you been all my life?" I ask in a singsong manner, making her laugh.
"In Paris."
I gasped, "You've been to Paris? How romantic!"
She snorted, "Barely, I grew up there before flying down here for my high school education. My brother is still there though, he says he doesn't plan on leaving, especially now that he found a woman that tickles his fancy." Oh right, she did tell me about her older brother, Zebec.
"See? A place of romance. You probably just scowled at the guys that came your way." I giggled because she was scowling right now as well! After a while, she shrugged. "Honestly, relationships aren't really my thing."
"Really? How come?"
She shrugged.
"Let's just say, I had a bad ex. Real bad.
" A frown drew on my lips. An ex? How come we'd never spoken about this?
Was it a sensitive topic? How did he hurt her?
I was beyond curious but didn't want to pry.
So I settled for a hum. "I'm always here if you want to talk about it," I said. Binta nodded. "I know, sunshine."
We parked near his front porch, well, the family house. Lights were still on so it made me feel more at ease because the last thing I'd want to do was intrude. With a final deep breath, I got down from her car.
"Thanks a lot, Binta!"
"I'm waiting! So go!"
Giggling, I closed the door and walked towards his front door, my palms sweaty. Gosh, who was going to open the door for me? My head was spinning. Clearing my throat, I tried to calm myself down with whispers. A pep talk if you may.
Pushing out my index finger, I rang the doorbell.
Once.
Twice.
After a minute of freaking out, the door opened, revealing a girl my height with frizzy red hair and one side of her cheek chubby.
"Oh! It's you! Hey Amelia!" She pulled me into a hug, the old she was munching on sounding in my ear.
I smiled, it was his sister, Saffron. I hugged her back tightly.
Wait, if she was answering the door, did that mean he hadn't come back?
"Hey! Goode evening! Is...uh, Everest home?"
"Yup! Go upstairs, the last room down the hall is his." She grinned, pulling me in before closing the door. Her grin held a suspicious feeling but I let it go. "Okay, thank you!"
The living room was empty, it was only her and a plat of cookies downstairs, that explained the chubby cheeks.
I was tempted to ask her what got her giggling, perhaps it was the movie playing on the screen.
Dear Lord, I hoped it wasn't the streak of alcohol in the atmosphere.
My eyes scanned around but I didn't find any misplaced bottles.
Why did here smell like alcohol?
Shrugging my shoulder, I took the directions Saffron had given, making sure to reduce the tapping of my feet so I wouldn't wake up her parents if they were sleeping that is.
I recalled where his door was even without her instructions and dear oh dear did the scent of alcohol get stronger. Was it Everest reeking of this?
I knocked firmly on his door, rocking on the balls of my feet. It didn't take a minute for the door to be pulled open. The door was pulled roughly, and the scent of alcohol slapped my nose to the point I almost stumbled back.
"Shit, uh, I mean...sneaker doodles? Baby! You're in time! I'm just getting back and—" A burp cut off his slurred words. "Excuse me." He giggled. My eyebrows scrunched, I'd never seen him this way, it was rather intriguing.
"Hey, baby..." I trailed off, unsure of whether to come in or not. He wasn't even clothed yet! His hair was unruly, eyes shut slightly.
"Come in...please don't be shy..." Evie's words trailed cupping my shoulders and pulling me in to hug me. I didn't mind their smell much so I hugged him back, his naked chest warm, hair tickling my face.
"Okay, big guy. I didn't know you were going out to drink."
Everest hummed pouting. "Drink? Psh, I barely downed a dozen drinks.
I'm fine! See?" He tried walking in a straight light, stretching his hands horizontally but completely tripping over his own feet before going to the floor.
"Evie!" I squealed, going to catch him but we both landed on his king-sized bed with a thump.
He giggled and it was darn contagious.
"Everest! Be careful!"
His brown orbs stared deep into mine. "Have I ever told you you're super duper pretty?" He asked with a cute voice. I smiled, "Yes you have." I giggled trying to push him off. He had so much weight!
"Where'd you go?"
I asked curiously, he'd drank so much which made me curious.
Was he drinking alone? Did something happen?
Or was he just out with his friends? Gabe, if I remembered correctly.
Everest pouted his lips as though he was thinking, eyes almost rolling to the back of his head.
"It's a secret." He whispered, the smell of alcohol oozing into my nose. I scrunched it, glaring at him.
He jumped to his feet, unbuckling his belt. I gasped, costing my eyes, the sound of his jeans going down sounded in the room. Was he baring himself? "Evie!" I scolded.
"I hope you're not naked!"
"It's hot babe! I feel so hot right now!" He complained making me gasp, wait, was he actually naked? "Everest Simon! Pull your pants back!"
I heard him laugh, before taking my wrist and pulling my hand away from my face which I was using to block my view. "Peak-a-boo!" He teased, my cheeks were hot, I didn't want to see his bare thing!
"See? I got boxers on, my love!"
A breath of relief left my lips when I opened my eyes, he was smirking.
I glared at him. "Not funny!" This made him laugh even more.
Everest plumped to the bed next to me, huffing exaggeratedly.
"Baby! Come straddle me again!" He whined, patting his abdomen before gazing at me with puppy dog eyes. I huffed, folding my arms.
"You're drunk." I deadpanned.
"You're sexy." He said with the same energy. My heart jumped, gee, just anything was coming out of his mouth now huh? When I didn't have any words to combat him with, he grinned. "I'm hot!" He complained again, this time, I giggled.
What a big baby.
Leaning in, I touched his neck. "Why are you hot?
Hm? Is the alcohol getting to your head?
" I said half teasingly. Everest's eyebrows scrunched simultaneously to his lips.
"You're mocking me, aren't you? I'm not even that drunk.
There are just two of you. Gorgeous girls.
" He stretched his arms to me but missed it by a few inches.
Was he touching the second me? The one the alcohol imagined? I stifled a giggle.
He claimed he wasn't that drunk yet he couldn't even walk in a straight line without falling on the bed, taking me along with him!
I mean, I hadn't drunk to the point where I was coordinated before, alcohol wasn't for me.
It was super bitter and burned my throat.
I could barely understand how people jugged it down like it was a strawberry milkshake.
"Alright, big boy. Get up!" I tried pulling him but it was to no avail. He wasn't budging, I tried again but this time he drew his hands towards himself, making me slip and fall flat into his chest. "Oof!" I groaned, my face close to his.
"You're drawn to me, aren't you?" His cocky words whispered in my ear. I almost scoffed. "Yes, I am, but not in your drunk state." Evie pouted. "You're not drawn to me right now? Why not?"
I almost giggled at the sad expression on his face. He looked so cute right now! "Nope," I emphasised with a grin. "Why not?"
"Because..." I poked below his cheeks, the numerous strands of hair on his cheeks tickled my finger, he listened attentively, his eyes showing curiosity. "You're..." I continued, loving how eager he seemed to listen to what I was saying.
"Drunk." I finished with a smirk.
Evie groaned, pulling me closer — if that was even possible seeing as I was on top of him.
"Give me some love! Or I'll fizzle out!" He whined before hiccuping.
I giggled, mirroring his expression with a pout of my own.
Fizzle out? I burst into a fit of giggles when he said that.
Wasn't that what this fairytale character said?
Tinker bell? Ah, was he watching movies without me now?
"One kiss." He pouted his lips.
"And you'll stand up? Go wash your face to be more sober?
" I asked, basically bargaining with him.
"I am sober!" He whined, narrowing his eyes.
I narrowed mine as well and for a minute, no words were said.
About to stand up from his chest, he moved his head back to look at me.
"Okay fine! Fine, I'll uh...take a shower. "
I didn't want him having an accident in the bathroom, he wasn't even able to walk straight! "You know what? I'll wash your face for you. Everest grinned, later pouting his lips for a kiss. I connected my palms with it, stifling a giggle.
"After you're sober, Evie."
His eyes almost had me wielding. Sighing, I kissed his cheeks before pulling him up.
This time, he assisted in lifting his weight off the bed.
We made our way to his bathroom. Had I ever been in here?
It had marble walls and tiles on the floor, the space large enough to accommodate a bathtub and a standing shower.
"Nice," I murmured.
"Do you know I paid for an apartment?" He said out of nowhere when I opened the faucet, dampening a face towel I saw handing near the bathtub. My eyebrows scrunched. "You did?" Or was this one of his drunk rambles?
Lowering his head to the sink, I used it to dab his face before putting his head under the skin to wash it.
The water was ice cold, when he rose back up, he looked even more attractive.
I used the damp towel to clean his upper body.
Hesitating when I got to his abdomen. How many times did he use the gym?
His biceps and chest had gotten more defined. Was it the mechanic shop that did so?
I held in a blush, he was drunk! I felt like such a pervert.
"Here, drink." I handed him the cub of water I fetched. Putting, he reluctant drank it, so I handed him another. "Amelia!" Gosh, he sounded like such a baby right now. Combing the wet strands out of his face, I tiptoed to kiss his lips. "Drink."
He didn't complain after, he simply gulped it down obediently.
I wasn't sure it would help but I hope so.
"How do you feel?" I ask curiously, hoping he'd give me positive feedback.
He shrugged, "Like I can fly." He whispered after crouching close to my ear.
He didn't slur his words that much anymore. That was progress, right?
Pulling him towards his room, I tried steadying his footsteps by hanging one of his arms on my shoulder. "I promise I usually hold my alcohol." He said sadly, stumbling to the bed.
"It's just, today I had a lot to celebrate." He hiccuped, sitting upright on the bed, pulling me towards him so we could cuddle. Though he was bare-chested, I tried focusing on what he was saying but I found it hard when my hands were resting against his hard chest.
"Like what?" I asked, tracing the hair on his chest to form irregular shapes. "Your dad came to the shop, and...we spoke it out."
I was surprised. I wasn't sure he was going to live up to his word and smooth things out with Evie. I smiled proudly. "I'm glad he did that," I say, looking up at Everest, he grinned, kissing my cheeks.
"So am I." He said before continuing.
"Which also means, you get to go to the culinary school you want."
My grin stretched even wider. "You really mean that?
You'd pay for it?" I asked, even saying it sounded like a dream.
He nodded with a smile. "Of course I meant it.
You could sign up for the school whenever you want, also, the apartment.
..I kinda found one in the outskirts, close to the baking school. "
My ears perked up. "You did? Are you serious?" I was excited now, I didn't know when I jump on his lap, hugging his neck. He did that...because of me? My heart was running miles per hour now. He chuckled, hugging my waist tighter.
"I'm charming, right?" He slurred, an enticing grin on his lips. I wanted to kiss him so much but he was being so cocky that I shoved his chest, scoffing. "I'm kidding, geez." Everest groaned, pulling me closer.
"I just thought, you wouldn't have to commute so far if you're going there, you could just stay at mine and go to your parent's house on the weekends." He explained slowly. I could see he was getting tired. Smiling, I gently brushed his hair with my fingers.
"Are you asking me to move in with you?" I asked, my voice soft. He hummed with a smirk. "I promise I'll be a good boy."
Those words tickled me the way they shouldn't have, gosh, I was really a pervert. He bit his lips, holding me in his gaze. "Will you now?"
He hummed.
I couldn't help it again, I cupped his cheeks, connecting his lips with mine.
The first taste which hit me was giant alcohol.
Everest gladly returned the kiss, deepening it.
"Next time you're drunk, I'm not kissing you.
" I managed to whisper with kisses. Everest nodded hastily, using a hand to cup my neck.
We kissed until I ran out of breath, breaking the kiss with a deep breath, "I think that's enough," I huffed, tapping his chest. He chuckled, nodding his head.
"You said you wanted to cuddle?" He asked, caressing my cheeks.
I nodded, "Do you want to?" I asked him, not wanting to do it just because of me.
He relaxed on the bed, lifting me like I didn't have weight on his side.
"I do want to." We got into position, my palms going to his chest. My head was so close to his chest that I could hear the thud of his heart.
It was a comforting sound to listen to. Everest's fingers went to my neck, slowly massaging it.
I giggled a little, "That feels good." He only chuckled.
"This isn't how I wanted your sleepover to be like.
" He whispered after a while. "Oh yeah?" The last thing I envisioned was to take care of a drunk Everest, nevertheless, I guess I wouldn't change today for a better one because I got to see another side of Everest Simon.
I also got to take care of him a little bit, as he always took care of me.
"When I'm sobered up in the morning, I want to take you out for breakfast, how does that sound? Hm?"
Heat warmed my cheeks, I snuggled closer to his chest.
"It sounds good to me."
"Great."
I could practically hear the giddiness from his voice and out of nowhere, I felt his large hands cup my butt, giving it a squeeze.
A gasp left my lips, "Evie!" Good thing he couldn't see my face properly, I probably looked like a flustered mess.
"What?" He drew out innocently, his hands still taking their place there.
"It's soft..."
"Be quiet!" Gosh, he was making me even more flustered. He didn't stop -- not like I told him to anyways. It felt foreign but nice as his hands caressed my bu--
I blushed hard, trying to snap out of my thoughts but with what his hands were doing, I couldn't even think straight anymore.
Ah, perhaps I was the pervert after all.
