Epilogue - Elize #2
He was heading to city hall, and a part of me wanted to get up and go after him. I was still angry. Furious that he’d played me. But another part pitied him. He didn’t see the beauty in witches and all the good we could do.
I pulled my gaze away, knowing the wound was still fresh. I would miss who I thought he was.
“Elize, cookies are ready.”
I got up and grabbed the cookies. I headed across the street toward the city hall. I headed inside and froze when I found Troy talking to Martin just a few feet away from the meeting room we were going to use.
The door slammed shut behind me, making both of them look. I swallowed, feeling unsure of what to do.
I could see the other Alphas already in the meeting room. I could hear Riley laugh, and Janella’s soft voice carried into the hallway. I headed for the door, and Martin spoke up.
“Elize, can we please talk?”
I froze, clutching the cookies tightly. Troy narrowed his eyes on Martin.
“I have a meeting to get to.”
“It will only be a moment,” Martin added.
I looked at Troy for a moment before handing him the cookies. “I’ll be inside in a moment.”
Troy walked toward me, placing a kiss on my cheek. He threw a glare at Martin before he headed into the meeting.
I crossed my arms. “What do you want, Martin?”
“You haven’t been calling me back or answering my messages.”
I raised an eyebrow at him. “And what in God’s name makes you think I would?”
“Elize, I know I’ve made mistakes.”
I threw my hand up, stopping him. “No, you’ve done more than make a few mistakes, Martin. You ruined my relationship, and maybe I could forgive you for that, but knowing you’ve done this before, I can’t. I was just another witch you had to get rid of.”
“That’s not true. Your family.”
“Which makes your betrayal that much worse,” I snarled back. “Why do you do it? Why did you ruin that other one? Do you hate witches that much?”
“He asked us to step in. I told you that. I wasn’t lying when I said he came to us and asked us to break it off. He knew we would do it.”
“I don’t believe you.”
“It’s the truth.”
“Why did he want to break off their engagement?”
“He didn’t say. He just said it wasn’t going to work.”
I narrowed my eyes on him, growing tired of the conversation. “I don’t have time for this, Martin. I have a meeting to get to.”
“I never wanted you to get hurt. I did what I thought was best.”
I nodded. “Yeah, I believe you mean that. You did what was best for you. You did what was best for your image.” I shook my head. “You never cared about me. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a meeting to attend to discuss cleaning up the mess you and your council members made.”
I turned, storming into the meeting room, shutting the door behind me. I walked over to take a seat next to Troy. He took my hand, squeezing it. He leaned in close toward me. “I know this is probably the wrong time to point this out, but you look hot when you’re standing up for yourself.”
I rolled my eyes, smirking at him. “Shut up and pay attention.”
His smile grew. “Yes, ma’am.”
The meeting went for an hour before Troy, and I headed home. He held my hand as he drove, and I hummed. We had the windows down, allowing the cool breeze into the car. I basked in it, soaking up the calm between us.
“You look happy.”
I smiled at him. “That’s because I am. For the first time in a long time, things just feel like they click.”
He nodded. “I understand that.”
“I know that there is still a lot that needs to be done and that we still have so much to figure out. But this feels right.”
He pulled into the house and squeezed my hand. “I’m glad.”
We headed inside, where Troy pulled me into his arms. He gave me a soft kiss, brushing my hair back. “And might I add that you impressed me today.”
“Oh?”
He nodded, his nose brushing over mine. “Yes. I heard what you were saying to Martin, and I couldn’t be prouder of you.”
I inhaled the smell of Troy and pressed my hands onto his chest. “Well, I was being honest.”
He softly kissed me, cupping the back of my head. I leaned into it, softly moaning. Kissing Troy was like a drug I couldn’t get enough of. Troy scooped me up and turned us. He walked down the hallway, where I pulled at his shirt. He threw it off, and I felt his hands squeeze my ass.
I giggled as he turned into the bedroom. His lips never leaving mine as he dropped me right onto the bed. I moaned loudly, reaching my hand up and running it through his hair. I tugged at it, and Troy growled against my lips.
“Fuck, Elize.” He pulled at his belt, and I pulled my shirt off. Troy stared at me, and I could see the lust swimming in his eyes. I licked my lips, wishing I could swim in his gaze. There was so much warmth in them, so much love.
He leaned forward, kissing me softly, and we fell back into the sheets. He grabbed at my pants, unbuttoning my jeans. I ran my hand over his chest, feeling his pecks and raking my hand down his abs.
“Your skin is so soft,” he whispered as he tugged my pants off. His fingers grazed over my leg, rolling from my ankle up my knee. His touch sent shivers down my spine.
I smiled. “You have soft skin as well.”
“Does having a chiseled body help?”
My smile grew. “Oh yes.”
He tossed my pants aside, pulling my legs apart.
He leaned closer, and I could feel his bulge pressing against my underwear.
He growled in my ear as he bit onto my neck.
“God, you smell good, too. I want to run my tongue over every part of your body. I want to take extra special care between your legs.”
I moaned as his teeth raked over my neck. I ground my hips, and his hands squeezed my thighs tightly. “I want to slide my tongue between your legs, Elize, and listen to you cry out my name.” His hand curled in, and my head rolled back as his fingers rolled over my clit.
“Oh god, yes,” I gasped as he moved his fingers in slow circles.
Troy kissed down my neck, pulling my bra down. His tongue slid over my breast and down my stomach. His fingers curled, sliding into me. My hips bucked as he moved them slowly.
“You’re soaking wet,” he growled as he bit onto my left hip.
I couldn’t form words as he tugged my underwear down. He pulled at his boxers, and I watched as his cock sprang up.
I sat up slightly and tilted my head as I stared at him. “I’m wet for you, Troy.”
Troy kissed me, rougher this time, his tongue sliding over mine. I moaned loudly as he slid into me in one quick thrust. My moan grew louder as Troy hooked my thighs, spreading them wider.
“Oh god,” I gasped as his body pressed against mine tightly.
Troy wasted no time slamming into me. Troy and I had made love many times, and I didn’t want sweet love.
I wanted him to take me and make my brain turn off.
I just wanted to be in the moment with him.
I wanted to wake up tomorrow, tired and sore. I’d regret nothing.
“I love you,” Troy growled at me as he slid into me. He grabbed my arms, pressing them above my head.
“I love you too,” I moaned, feeling his fingers tighten on my wrists.
Troy worked his thumb over my clit, and I felt my toes curl. I knew that I was close. Each thrust he made put me even closer. I curled my hands into fists, and my toes curled in. He was slamming in the same spot, his dick filling me completely.
The orgasm hit me like a train, and I moaned his name as I shattered apart. I saw stars, and my brain went foggy.
I sagged against the bed, and Troy chuckled. He kissed me softly, rubbing his nose against mine. “I’m so happy to have you.”
I stared at him, taking in his eyes and his soft lips. I reached a hand up, running my hands through his hair. “And I’m happy to have you.”
