chapter 1
" So Ruhi, doing anything on the weekend? " The PT teacher asked, giving me a soft smile.
It's been 3 years since I'm working as a English teacher in a High school, after completing my B.ED course i have been giving exams and exams but finally i got the chance to complete my dream.
3 years working as teacher, 5 years since I left home, umm... actually run away to pursue my dreams. Thankfully, I had enough amount on my bank that I can survive on my own.
And...this PT teacher? He has been asking me out for 6 months now, he's tall, got curly hair with brown eyes. I know he's a good man . But I'm really not interested.
And i already told him . But he keep trying and trying.
"Um.... actually I'm-" he didn't give me chance to finish my sentence when he Interrupt me softly. " I...know you told me you're not interested...but please atleast join me for lunch" he request.
"Alright " i replied, and met his gaze, his eyes widen as he just saw a ghost , his lips slowly turn in a big wide grin.
"Really?" He exclaimed, like he want to jump right now out of happiness.
I nodded "yes" I murmur softly.
"Okay you decide the place" he said while giving me a hopefully eyes.
I nodded again, thinking of least romantic resturant. It's just a lunch , as a friend. That's it.
As I was thinking soo hard about the place, the bell suddenly rang making me startled. Then i realize i have class now.
"I'm sorry Kartik, I have class now " I said softly before leaving for class, while he stood there and gave me a soft smile before disappearing, ofcourse to his office. Or the sport department.
As I make my way to the classroom, the students were chatting and laughing but when I enter they all seat and greet me with a smile.
That's what I like about them. They are so sweet, and joyful.
"So okay class, did you do the grammars I gave you yesterday?" I asked about the homework I gave them yesterday, they are great in English but still lack of grammar.
"Yes Miss, we did it, like you explained us now it's seems so easy now " one of the student said while giving me a wide smile.
I smile back feeling proud, "I'm glad " I said while continuing the class.
After the class, I went back to the teachers room where all the teachers were, and some of were in their class. I sit there The teachers were planning about the summer vacation.
God, i need summer vacation more than the students, the heat out there is crazy.
After the school ends, I gather my things and grab my bag to go home when suddenly Kartik block my path. Shit ....i forgot about the place.
"Have you decided the place?" He asked.
I swallow hard , sorry dear lord I have to lie.
"Y-yeah but I need to search more , I'll text you the location" I said .
"Okay then , see you Ruhi " Kartik said while waving me goodbye.. i let out a soft sigh.
After reaching my apartment, I flop on my couch and set my bag on the table.
God, I'm tired . The feeling of being alone when no one's with you is insane. But my family left me no choice back then. They think it's compulsory to get married when girl is 20 above.
And I need my freedom.. what's the point of getting Educated but not using it by getting married?
There are lots of things going on my mind, five years since no contact with family. But deep down I feel relieved.
After putting the thoughts aside i rose up from the couch and make my way towards the bathroom. This is the only thing that can help me now.
As the cool water touch my skin i let out a soft humm sound . God it's soo good the cold water in the middle of summer is all I need.
