Chapter 13 #5
“Did you just come to shamelessly use my body, or did you need something?” Ethan asked then.
In the interest of getting off, I’d completely forgotten all about Charlotte. “Promise you’ll keep an open mind,” I prefaced, hoping the spectacular blow job I just gave him had loosened him up a bit.
“I’m listening,” Ethan stated, but I could tell he was already leery of my unknown request.
Deciding I just needed to rip the Band-Aid off, I came right out with it.
“My friend Charlotte DM’ed me today and wanted to know if she could meet you?
She wants us to go on a double date with her boyfriend some time soon.
I was hoping, because I’m not working this weekend, we could meet up with them for dinner? ”
Ethan surprised me by not denying the request outright. Instead, I could tell he was carefully thinking it over. “Where did you want to go?”
Shit! I hadn’t even considered that. I’d thought he was going to tell me no before it ever got to the planning stage. “Maybe just somewhere lowkey with nice ambiance? You can pick the place if you want. It doesn’t matter to me.”
“I think it would be fine to meet up with your friend this weekend. However, some of the guys are going to have to come with us as well. They don’t have to be sitting directly at our table, but they should be nearby just to be safe.”
Ecstatic, I squealed and bounced on Ethan’s lap. In response, his cock, which had only halfway softened, began to harden once again.
Sighing dramatically, Ethan said, “I think you broke me woman.”
Grinning like a fool, I gave him a sultry kiss and stood. “Thank you, Ethan. I’ll let you get back to work, and I’ll call Charlotte so we can work out the details of our night out.”
Millie
Because I rarely got dressed up, Ethan gave me his credit card to order some clothes online. I hated using his money, but he’d insisted. Because the mate bond told me he was being earnest about wanting to do this for me, I finally relented and accepted his generosity.
While shopping, I saw a dress very similar to the one I’d worn out with Charlotte the night I’d learned I was a ware. Since I’d ruined hers, I ordered a replacement one and tried not to feel too guilty about the cost that would be billed to Ethan.
As I browsed, several pieces of clothing caught my eye, and I loaded them into my cart as possibilities for my first date out with my mate.
I even put in a few items I thought would look killer on him and would offset his gorgeous grey-blue eyes so well.
By the time I was done, I was confident we were both going to make a great first impression on Charlotte and her new man.
The next two days passed without incident.
I didn’t hear from Osyrius or my mother.
Their silence, though welcome, also left me feeling unsettled.
I knew they hadn’t just collectively given up on me returning to Alaska and the Tupilaq pack.
That would be far too convenient. But because I was looking forward to meeting up with Charlotte, I put both shifters out of my thoughts and focused on going out with my friend.
Charlotte had to work late tonight so we were going to meet up at a place called Towers that served both drinks and food.
It was a relatively new pub I’d never visited that had good ratings online that Flint, of all people, had recommended.
I didn’t ask how he knew about the place, as he’d only recently returned to town, but he assured me I’d like it and I’d gone with it.
Deciding I wanted to dress up for my bestie and my mate, I went all out.
Full hair, makeup, and slinky clothes to match.
Not going to lie, I felt good. Gazing into the mirror, I did a little turn to see my full reflection, and I was happy with everything I saw. I only hoped Ethan would feel the same.
Since it was cold out, I selected pants over a dress.
But these black, faux leather leggings exhibited every inch of my curves.
When they’d arrived, I’d tried them on and thought I’d send them back, due to how revealing they were.
But the thought of Ethan, rubbing up against me all night in these skin-tight leggings made me reconsider keeping them entirely.
Piling my hair atop my head, I left a few tendrils out to frame my face. On top, I wore a long-sleeved purple body suit that fit the night’s theme to a tee: skintight and sexy.
When I came downstairs, Flint whistled and said, “Wow!”
I blushed and shrugged. “I just wanted to get dressed up. You look good yourself,” I told him, as I grabbed a glass from the cupboard and filled it with water.
“Has Ethan seen what you’re wearing yet?” he asked, a small smile playing along his lips as his attention centered around the section of my leggings that hugged my crotch.
Since Ethan had wanted to give me the bathroom to myself to get ready tonight, he hadn’t seen what I was wearing yet. Being thoughtful like he was, he was getting dressed in his office after he finished working for the day.
“No. Why?”
Flint simply blinked at me. “Because of what you’re wearing.”
Rolling my eyes, I said, “Why does it matter?”
Pinning me with his green gaze, Flint practically choked on the coffee he was sipping.
“You’re not serious, right? Of course your mate cares about what you’re wearing, Millie.
With how good you look, he’s going to have to fight off the young bucks with a stick.
Both human and ware alike! In case you haven’t noticed, alphas aren’t exactly good with sharing.
They’re possessive as fuck with a penchant for violence when other men trespass on their territory. ”
“I’m not territory, Flint. I’m a human being,” I heatedly corrected, though the thought of Ethan wanting to keep me all to himself did have its appeal.
“Tomato, To-mah-to,” the ware returned with a smirk.
Colt, Stark, and Gavin came downstairs then.
They each told me how nice I looked, and I complimented them right back.
It wasn’t just out of courtesy, either. This group of men was definitely the hottest I’d ever met.
Seriously, the Cascia House boys were all smoke shows.
I’m not sure if it was a ware thing, or just a coincidence, but not one of them would go unnoticed in a crowd full of good-looking dudes.
Ethan walked into the living room then, and the rest of the men faded away.
Like I could see his heat signature, my omega senses locked onto his tall, muscular frame.
To me, this gorgeous man was perfect. The perfect height, build, look, and smell.
My mate. When I looked at him, I knew I was the luckiest girl in the world.
Wearing dark jeans and the crisp white, dress shirt I bought him, my heart constricted painfully when his grey-blue gaze collided with mine.
Ethan’s eyes smoldered when they took in my outfit. Like Flint, his attention was fixated on the snug juncture of my legs.
A small growl emanated from his throat, and I heard Flint behind me chuckle before muttering, “I told you so!”
Ethan
Looking at the clock, I realized I had to get ready so I didn’t make Millie late. Showering in the downstairs bathroom, I hurriedly got dressed in the clothes my mate had set out for me.
I grinned as I straightened the collar of my new dress shirt.
My girl had looked so cute when she’d presented it to me last night.
I didn’t have the heart to tell her I had ten just like it in my closet.
That didn’t matter though. The fact that she’d thought of me when she’d been shopping for herself warmed my heart and made my cock thicken with anticipation.
Fuck, she turned me on. I felt like a goddamned deviant whenever she was near.
Even Flint accused me of being a letch after he’d overhead me fucking Millie in the shower this morning.
What could I say? My dick was constantly hard whenever she was around, and she seemed to enjoy that fact.
Hell, she encouraged it! The little minx was insatiable.
And I was savoring every debaucherous moment we spent together.
I was also enjoying having all my brothers living under one roof with me.
Truth was, since leaving the group home, I’d missed the hustle and bustle of having a bunch of people around.
This cabin was huge, and I’d built it with the hope I could one day fill it with a big family.
Something that, with the arrival of Millie, might actually come true.
The image of a dark-haired child with bright blue eyes filled my mind then. My heart swelled at such a compelling and beautiful future.
Checking my watch, I realized it was time to go. Clicking off the light, I left the bathroom and made my way over to the living room. As soon as I walked in, I saw her. My mate. The most spectacular creature in all the world.
My throat got tight, along with my jeans, as I took in what my girl was wearing.
Her pants were so form fitting, I could practically see her pussy on full display.
The sharp memory of exactly what that vice-grip of a cunt felt like wrapped around my cock didn’t help matters any.
A growl of feral desire, and warning to all others who would think to even glance at my woman, began low in my throat.
Let there be no confusion as to what I was willing to do to keep my mate protected and safe and mine.
I heard Flint mutter an “I told you so,” to Millie, and that snapped me out of my primal state.
“You don’t like how I look?” My mate asked, her lovely eyes wide with hurt and disappointment.
Striding to her side, I wrapped my hands possessively around her waist and kissed her passionately. “I love the way you look, Millie. I just don’t want anyone else to enjoy it even a fraction as much as I do.”
That comment seemed to cheer her up. “Good. Now stop being a caveman and let’s get in the car. I don’t want to be late.”
Millie
Ethan’s reaction to what I was wearing made me realize I’d done the right thing by keeping the pants. As we drove to the restaurant, he couldn’t keep his hands off me, and I loved every naughty second of it.
As we drove, his eyes on the road, his fingers meandering up my thigh, I felt like everything in my life was finally falling into place.
Just as we pulled into the parking lot, he’d stroked my clit through the from-fitting fabric and my pulse began to pound.
That single touch was enough to ignite my body into a feral heat.
My pussy dampened and my cheeks grew hot.
My mate was fast becoming my own personal addiction.
Coming around to my door, Ethan chivalrously opened it and helped me step out of his Mustang. I’m not sure what I’d done to score such a man, but I was keeping him, no questions asked.
The waitress escorted us to our table. Because Charlotte was coming directly from work, she was already seated. As soon as she saw us, she jumped up and gave me a great big hug.
I introduced Ethan, and we all got situated back in the booth, my friend and I chatting excitedly as we scooched into place.
“Cam is running a bit late,” Charlotte explained, as the waitress dropped off menus. “He got caught up at work. He’ll be here shortly though.”
We started with drinks that Ethan ordered for us. As Charlotte had predicted, nobody asked for our ID’s. From what we’d heard, this place was really liberal with checking for them. Just in case, my friend had come prepared with the fake ones we’d used at Maverick’s what felt like a lifetime ago.
Halfway through our second drink, Ethan got an urgent call from Harry. “My apologies, ladies. My client is a bit nervous about an upcoming deadline. Give me a minute. I’ll be right back and then I’ll be off my phone for the rest of the night, I promise.”
As soon as he left the table, Charlotte got right down to business with grilling me about him.
“Oh my God, Millie. Your boyfriend is GORGEOUS, and such a gentleman. Where the hell did you guys say you met? And more importantly, does he have a brother you can introduce to Alice? That bum she liked at the bar up and quit without a single word, ghosting her like they’d never even met. She’s been super depressed ever since.”
The mention of Garrett made me twinge with a hint of guilt, until I recalled what he’d tried to do in that alley after I’d left the bar.
The more I thought about it, the more I realized I’d done Alice a huge favor.
He’d been ready to rape and probably kill me.
The ware was a creep that, one way or another, would have hurt her in the end. Good riddance!
“Ethan grew up in foster care,” I carefully began. “He has an older brother, but they’re not on great terms.”
I didn’t want to foolishly set up Alice with one of the guys if they didn’t date human women. To be honest, I’d never asked and I didn’t want to give Alice false hope after the Garrett debacle.
“That’s unfortunate,” Charlotte responded. “If he has any friends, I’m sure she’d love to meet them next time we go out.”
“I’ll let Ethan know,” I said, as her phone chirped.
“He’s here,” Charlotte squealed, as she looked at the message. “I’m letting him know which section we’re sitting in.”
We both excitedly waited for Cam to arrive. The moment he turned the corner, the color drained from my face because I recognized his.
The man wasn’t Cam, like he’d claimed. He wasn’t even a man. He was a ware.
Cam was Osyrius.
